It had been a while since I had been to an event at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, TX. On April 25, 2026, my daughters and I got to see George Strait and the Ace in the Hole Band in concert for our first (and most likely last) time. (Mainly because he doesn't tour often in our parts of the country.) Overpriced drinks and food. TIP Don't buy your parking pass through StubHub or whatever lame ticketing site. Use the Tech app. They're much cheaper on there. I parked in the West Arena lot for $75 though TTU. The staff members were mostly nice. This place really could use better restrooms, though. My daughters were not down with porta potties so the closest ones were across the stadium from us and up the stairs and down the long hallway... Otherwise I was real happy with our tickets on the floor. Had a great time at this sold-out show. Hudson Westbrook and Miranda Lambert and their bands were great too. read more

The Jones is a great place to watch a sporting event... except for one thing. For some reason (probably blamed on Covid), they only had a few concessions areas open during Saturday's home opener against Stephen F Austin. Lines were insanely long, and the crowd was so thick, you could hardly get through. One lady even collapsed and had to be taken out by medical personnel, who had a hard time getting to her. Been a few years since I was at a game here, but this was the first time I've seen it this backed up... even during the "glory days" of the late 2000's. If I'm going to spend the money to come for a game, the stadium should be more than prepared for the crowd. Instead, it was a crew struggling to keep up. read more

Jones stadium is a top notch venue for a college football team. The event was held in the club level and it was very breath taking view if the field and stadium. This was a Pre-Job Fair Happy Hour sponsored by Texas Tech for all recruiters and there was food and drinks for all attending. There were lots of types of food such as prime rib, egg rolls, wraps, bacon wrapped shrimps and many types of desserts. We were given tickets (2) for our drinks and the food was free also. The drinks were measured so I guess that's why I returned to Cheddars afterwards. Other than that the event was very nice. read more

This is the newest side of the stadium to be redone. When you purchase a box seat or a seat to the side of the jumbo tron, you get access to their inside area. This area has a full bar plus a buffet before the game. The bar accepts cash or credit card.The buffet is included in your ticket price. They change up the menu theme every game. During the game you can purchase nachos, pizza, etc. They also have free popcorn to snack on. If you purchase a box you get four seats reserved behind the goal post above the double T. There are tv's with cable connection so you can watch any Lubbock tv show. There are also private bathrooms so you don't have to use the ones in the main stadium. The inside area is great for when it gets too cold to sit outside or the heat is too overwhelming and you need AC. This is definitely one of the better places to sit in the stadium. read more

Indiana Jones opened this stadium back in the old days when his whip was still taut and his hat was still perched on top of his impressive, swollen, throbbing head. (Throbbing because he has a headache from a fight with a Nazi, of course. What did you think I meant?) First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium - Texas Tech was not a school I knew much about, until I played my first and only concert in Lubbock, and everyone told me about how amazing this stadium was. Well, I had to go and check it out, and I have to say I was impressed by the campus and even moreso by this enormous, stunning hulk of a stadium. It's absolutely beautiful. Why do they throw tortillas at the beginning of the game though? Tradition, yes, but a bit of a waste. Hilarious, crazy people up in the hat part of Texas. Fantastic noise and I had a wonderful time. I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at, or visited when empty (and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** This is one of the best college stadiums there is, because of the atmosphere. It's a bit more bowl-y than some of them that have this empty end (like this one does), and I highly recommend you come down and catch a game if you're ever in Lubbock. Why the hell would you be in Lubbock you might say? Well you might date a girl that goes to Texas Tech (there are some beautiful girls here). Or you might be here to play a concert like I was, and I have to say thanks Lubbock for showing up the way you did. Won't be forgotten. read more

Best place in the county to take in a college football game. Texas Tech will give you heart burn watching the game, but the stadium experience makes up for it. From the bell circle to Goin Band to the energetic stadium announcer, it's all great. We prefer to sit on the east side during night games, because you get to take in great West Texas sunset. read more

Upset lives here. Best football atmosphere in the entire country! Ask any team or college coach what it's like to come and play in Lubbock.. It's not easy. Jones AT&T Stadium isn't the biggest stadium in the world, only holding a little over 58,000 people. But, when completely packed with die heart Texas Tech fans.. We are bound to beat any team in the country. If you've never been to a game here I suggest you go.. they are extremely fun and filled with energy. GO TECH! read more

I attended the most recent game at this stadium and I had an awesome time! Two things I would have changed if I was the builder of this stadium. 1) The seats are way too close together. I'm 5'6 and I couldn't comfortably sit in the seat without my knees rubbing against the seat in front of me. 2) although I had the pleasure of sitting in the shade the whole game the people on the other side of the field were blinded the whole time by the sun! Great atmosphere and the concession stand people are hype! Even though the cheese on my nachos was cold I'll let it slide! ;) But all in all I had a great time!! read more

Love watching my Raiders here. Great screens, great food, great seating. I love the boxes in the Texas Tech Club. It feels like luxury up there. They have a buffet right at kick off and then in each room you can have anything ordered to be there for every game. Don't try parking here unless you have a reserved spot. Jones' stadium is the PR polished representation of both Texas Tech University and Lubbock as a whole. It is a greatly maintained stadium that can fill a roaring crowd of friends and enemies alike. I actually might even favor it more than the Texans' stadium back at home! On a busy TTU game day, the stadium is filled with Red, Black, and sometimes white, and we try to not let any other colors but our's shine. As a recreational facility the Jones is stellar! Amazing for football games, concerts, and freshman welcome week activities. The structure and design of the building is beautiful and professional, and it holds it's own fancy dinner "box" seating for TTU's finest (and some student organizations). Overall, this Lubbock icon is worth seeing (especially when in action)! However, as a tip, during the first few months of the Fall semesters it gets pretty damn hot! Remember to keep hydrated because the Lubbock sun has no mercy, and drinks inside can be pretty pricey (with no refills). read more

Easy to find, parking is horrible!!! Game day is clearly crazy, and all the stadium parking is reserved. Seats are older but comfortable for stadium seats. They are waaaay too close together, you're literally knee to knee with the person next to you. We had good seats, section 5, row 15. Definitely a good view. read more
