The Cactus staff and volunteers including the owner made sure the whole experience ran smoothly. They have some of the best Popcorn in West Texas and their concession prices are great. We sat in the upper balcony and got to enjoy the show. There was not a bad spot in the theater since all the seats are slightly elevated so heads don't get in the way. They show great classic films here, have great singer-songwriters show up, and always help curate a great energy to Lubbock. Moonlight offers 3-5 musicals per season and most are family friendly (think: Little Mermaid, Alice In Wonderland). Season begins in June and they have one per months with several showings. Check out their website for what is happening next! They also offer a youth program during the school year and summer camps. We are annual season pass holders and love the place! I came to find out about LHUCA through attending the First Friday art trail events in the area…read more Technically, the event is named after this place and has the gallery as its central focal point. The idea being to come stroll through the gallery, then work your way out onto the cordoned off streets and check out local art vendors and handmade goods before settling on beers and live music or performances somewhere along the way. This gallery always has a perfect assortment of displays running the gamut between peculiar to practical. I've seen some incredible handmade pottery mugs for sale, and some bizarre installations of another form of pottery: the toilet. It is, nevertheless, wonderful to have such a place in little ol' Lubbock. There are some beautiful large art pieces that hang on the walls making up the majority of the contents. Paintings, photography, mosaics. All sorts of media. Some for sale, albeit often at quite high prices, and many marked "NFS", or "Not For Sale". There's a very tiny little shop selling remnants of older installations, as well as "extras" made by some of the artists. It's quaint. A front desk has flyers and cards for the current and future exhibits. My favorite, they also have a pile of free stickers with the center name on them. Even in a time when retailers and restaurants struggle to keep staff, they always have plenty of attendants working the gallery to answer questions and shout at you if you dare touch the art. That's commendable and makes the experience all the more whole. It's been 7 years between the latest review and mine, but the place is still kickin' and worth visitin'!

It is very spacious and holds so many art appreciators all at once. It is the hub of the first friday art trail that happens every first friday of the month 6pm-9pm rain or shine! It is also open throughout the week to visit. During the first friday art trail they also serve beer and wine for a small cost. The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts is an amazing addition to the sometimes known as boring Lubbock, Tx. It keeps the city excited about up and coming artists and their work. I love that our City has such an amazing establishment to enrich the locals.

Have sent messages by Messenger and got half of my questions answered after waiting days for contact. For $150 for a table you would think they would be eager to rent one.

Oh, you must be thinking of that thing, no, not that, but club-hopping. Haha! Yeah, everyone always tells me that Lubbock is boring, but it's only boring to the students who don't know how to have fun with limited means. Lubbock is exciting in its own personal way that it doesn't need to be compared to other cities for recognition. The Garden is like that in a sense, it has a laid-back atmosphere, no other club in the area is like it. On Saturday mornings during the Farmers Market, it is a nice chill spot to get out of the sun. Drink mimosas and a food truck on sight that sells breakfast burritos. At night, this place is great! A live band, food trucks, open bar, patio games, and picnic tables. Yeah, it's relaxed. Oh, and the music they play reminds me of my high school and younger days when I adored the rock alternative genre. My friends aren't fans of The Garden due to the music, but I don't care, I enjoyed my experience. I can't wait to go back!

There were patrons inside and the gates were open. My friend and i walk up and the gates security guy very rudely told us they were closed... No explanation. Nothing. Complete jack a** raising his voice. The bartender did peak around the corner and tell us they open at 10pm, she might be the only reason people come back. This place would be better off with consistent hours and marketing and well as a new gate guy.
