I was looking for a second opinion on a furnace replacement and air conditioner replacement, and…read moreI'm certainly happy I chose Donnie Rowe. I knew I needed a new air conditioning unit, as it has been working poorly and leaking for years, and I was told by another HVAC company in the fall that my furnace was dangerously in need to replacing. Wyatt came out and looked over everything. I gave him every opportunity to take advantage of the situation. I was prepared to replace a furnace and two air conditioning units if need be. In the end, Wyatt recommended replacing one air conditioning unit and told me the furnace was safe and not in need to replacing. He recommended I upgrade from a 2 ton unit to a 2.5 ton unit. Aaron came out to replace the air conditioner a few days later. He did a great job and left minimal debris to clean up. The new system cools my upstairs better than I had even hoped for. Value? I really don't know. Everything seems so high now. But I would say that Wyatt could have socked me with a furnace a two air conditioners, so the value I'd say is with the honest evaluation and recommendations you get. I wanted to work with simply an HVAC company, not one of these do it all HVAC, plumbing, and electrical businesses they all seem to be moving to. I like people who focus and specialize. I strongly recommend the business and will be working with them in the future.

What a frustrating (and EXPENSIVE) experience. Stay away if you want things taken care of the first…read moretime! I had them visit my home when my heat went out. The first technician arrived promptly as scheduled, was polite and professional, but ended up billing me over $500 to flip a breaker on the furnace in my attic and "tighten a couple of wires" (his words, not mine). When questioned, he said that was their standard billing amount for "minor electrical work", which is pretty absurd for less than 45 minutes of work. He did offer a $50 coupon to reduce the cost slightly. He also informed me that the breaker was going bad and would need to be replaced, and they would need to send out an electrician to do this. Here's where it gets worse. The electrician came as scheduled two days later, but had not been informed that the breaker needed to be replaced, so did not have the parts to do this. So I got billed an additional $230 for his visit, which accomplished absolutely nothing. The following day, another technician called to let me know he was on his way. When I asked if he had the correct parts to complete the job, he said that there was nothing in the notes from the previous two visits about replacing a breaker, so he did not have the parts. At this point in the afternoon, the supplier was already closed, so we had to reschedule for the next day. Thankfully I was available, but having to be at home for 4 different visits definitely was not convenient. He was able to get the breaker replaced and get everything up and running the next day, however. All in all, I ended up paying nearly $1,100 to have a simple breaker replaced on my furnace, which is entirely absurd, and waited 4 days in frigid temperatures. I called in to see if I could get a partial refund because of how unnecessary half of the visits should have been, but was informed that these prices are standard. I spoke with a manager named Alex, who told me he would look into it, but never heard back after more than a week despite multiple attempts to contact him again. Ultimately I'm extremely frustrated by the experience, and question the business practices of this company. The complete lack of proper communication between their technicians to get what should have been a very simple repair done in a timely manner is entirely unacceptable, and the fact that they billed me for their mistakes and miscommunication is terrible.

I turned off the water supply rendering the condo with no water. Now what? Who do I call in Lexington, a town I'm not that familiar with much. She called her sister in Versailles but her recommendation of a past plumber she had used previously was closed for the weekend. So I did a search on Yelp first, skipping over a couple of plumbers with some not so good reviews and found Bluegrass advertised as being 24/7 and Shonda C.'s review listed first. She is in my friends list and I trust her reviews. I also saw photo's of the business owner and his family, plus some of his past work, indicating to me I was looking at an honest man. But to be sure, I utilized BBB for a background check and found zero complaints in the past year, an A+ rating and that they were BBB Accredited. So I gave them a call. Ron answered the phone at 7:52 am on a Saturday. This was a huge indicator to me I was going to be doing business with a good company. He told me he had one customer ahead of me but that he would be over between 11:30-12:30 and that he would call thirty minutes ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He called me back at 10:26 am and arrived in 15 minutes. He assessed the work to be done, quoted a price, then left to pick up a new water heater and associated parts & pieces and arrived back around an hour later. I doubled checked with my sister, who owns five houses, on his quoted price and found he came in little bit less than her prediction. Ron and his son, who was helping him, installed a new water heater, and upgraded the water pipes and gas line, along with new valves on both, to meet today's codes. He completed the work in two and a half hours. We were completely 100% satisfied with the work, his timeliness, consideration of cleanliness and knowledge of his trade. Would not hesitate to call him again for any plumbing needs.

Ron came out and cleared the pipe in no time, left no mess, and charged a fair price. He was super friendly, nice guy. Glad we could hire a locally owned small business that cares.
