Mary confirmed that they are offering free inspections but that that is not a service plan. She also wanted me to keep them in mind for any future needs. Wait, what?!? I would give zero stars if it let me. First about this company, you get to talk to an AI Chat Bot named Sara. She'll have a dispatcher call you back. I contacted this company Thursday night to have my hot water heater replaced. I had hot water but the tank was leaking. Friday morning a plumber named Mike came over to give me a price. To me, I like Mike. I wish he was a private contractor I would hire him again. Anyway I was quoted $3,106 to replace a hot water heater. I know that is high for my area I live in Hawley Pennsylvania, but I wanted the hot water heater replaced as soon as possible so I agreed. Mike went to get the hot water heater and came back. He finished hooking everything up around 3 pm. He told me it would take an Hour to get hot water. No problem. I waited until 4:30 PM to call to inform the water was not getting hot. Here is where the problem is. You don't get to talk, to the plumber who did the work for you. You don't get contact info or anything. So you have to call their main number talk to Sara again. I had someone call me back around 5 pm that night. This person told me they would have to contact dispatch and dispatch would be in touch with me shortly (I should have asked what their definition of shortly was) 9:36 AM Saturday Morning. I called again, this time a rep told me she'll mark it as an emergency and have dispatch call me. Dispatch called me back and told me she had no one available for Saturday. I didn't think they would have, but told me I would get the first call Sunday Morning. I would be on top of the list. I had my alarm set for 8 AM. I work late hours and sleep in the mornings, but I didn't want to miss a call from the plumber, because their plumbers use PRIVATE numbers and if you miss the call you have to go through the whole ordeal again. at 8:37 AM I was a bit concerned when no one called me to set up an appointment. I called the number again and spoke to a different person. She told me that the last person never indicated it should be early morning on the notes and that I would have to wait until the afternoon. No time given to wait. So in conclusion before contacting Jones, I had running hot water but a leaky tank. After Contacting Jones I have no hot water, but at least the tank doesn't leak. For 3 grand you should expect to get better customer service. I don't blame Mike for the issues. Anything could have happened. A lose wire, a faulty new hot water heater. Any thing, I blame customer service (Dispatch) for giving me wrong times, and not treating me like a valued customer. read more

Here's what I sent them and they never contacted me regarding the 'investigation' they started I don't even know where to start with my disappointment in your company's service. It was an awful job. Absolutely awful. More importantly, you sold us a new boiler we didn't need. You quoted $3,000 to fix the 'terrible' wiring and happily sold us a brand-new boiler system when it wasn't necessary. Let me back up a bit. We called you because the basement heat wasn't working well, and the third floor of our split-level house was overheating. Turns out we probably just needed two new valves. But your team was eager to sell us a whole new boiler system and took away the old one. They quoted $3,000 to rewire the 'terrible' wiring. My daughter's father, my ex-husband, who's was a master electrician before retiring told her that was absolute bullshit. He said it shouldn't cost $3,000 just to rewire the boiler. You made it seem like the wiring was so terrible that you couldn't even quote a proper price beyond $3,000 to figure out what was wrong with our system. My ex husband told my daughter she most likely correctly guessed it was likely a valve problem, but that's something we'll never know because you were so happy to tote away the old one. We were heading into single-digit temperatures and couldn't afford to wait around, which turned out to be our biggest mistake because your company is awful. We ended up spending $13,000 on a new boiler system we didn't need. We are three disabled females in this household, and you screwed us over. That money could have gone towards food, medical bills or any other expense but no, you pushed us into more debt instead of fixing the actual problem. Now we'll never know what the true issue was because you rushed in with a new boiler system. How convenient for you. Meanwhile, we're stuck with an enormous bill. Maybe next time you should tell your men to think about whose daughter they're screwing over instead of installing unnecessary equipment. And on top of that, you didn't even do a good job. That night, in single-digit temperatures--at one point it was negative one degree--we were completely out of heat. We weren't out of heat before; it was just an issue of uneven heating across floors. You put us out of heat and didn't come back for two days. By the time your men returned, the heat finally kicked on, but only after countless phone calls with your AI assistant Sarah did we get any help. We were left without heat in worse conditions than before your intervention. I can't fully explain how disappointed and angry I am with your company. If I could give negative stars, I would. You sold us something unnecessary and overcharged us for it. You left us without heat during freezing temperatures while we are already living on a shoestring budget due to disability payments--and now we're $13,000 in debt. First, you overcharged for a simple electrical issue with the boiler--something my ex-husband said probably wasn't even the real problem. Yes, diagnosing the wiring might have been necessary but not a complete rewiring job. Would it have been a pain? Our boiler needed repair. They arrived with a salesperson who told us right away that we needed a brand new boiler. It was freezing cold, and we were desperate. We should have gotten a second opinion. They charged us a maximum price - way beyond what was normal. Here, things go from bad to worse. After installation, the system still did not work. After 2 days, they sent someone to finish the job. He did not seem to know what he was doing - and he didn't. The system still did not work. 2 days later, another guy comes. He did not know how to fix the problem and was about to leave. I put my foot down and insisted that they put this right. After he made a few phone calls, someone on the phone instructed him on how to fix it - and it finally started working. I paid top dollar for a company specializing in heating systems that sent untrained technicians. There's even more. Another minor adjustment was still needed to complete the installation, and when I called to have it done, the woman at the service counter refused to send anyone unless we paid an extra charge. It got very heated between us. Finally, the salesperson came through and sent someone to do the adjustment. Everything about this company gave us endless bad feelings and a lack of faith and trust. We are not looking forward to dealing with them in the future and really wish we had shopped around and checked out other companies. read more

We called to have our heat pumps serviced and cleaned. I asked that I didn't want a service that was just cleaning the easy to pull out filters (I can do that). I expressed I wanted a deeper cleaning of the heads. They were not clear in the service they were providing. They ended up just rinsing the air filters in our tub and left it dirty. They didn't do any of the deeper cleaning that was needed. Those were add-ons (up sells). So what I thought I was paying for I didn't get. In the end they charged about 200 per unit to do a basic rinse of filters and condensers and over 1100 dollars later were now discussing the additional services they were recommending. Matt was not able to help me understand what the service was. I specifically stated I deeper clean of the units. He was rude and condescending to my wife. He left a mess, he didn't replace 2 filters, and left my water running. To pay over 1100 dollars for a basic rinse is horrible. They only care about $$$ and telling you after they dupe you on a service all the other services you need for $$$$$ more money. These companies should do better. read more

Extremely over priced, service tech do not diagnose an issue correctly. They supposely fixed my heating a week later i need to call another company to correct the issue. They installed a water filter system to close to the wall in my boiler room. My new company had to buy a special tool to remove the cap to install new filters. With this company you usually have to call someone else in to correct their errors. Some of their techs are pushy and rude. Walking around your house like it is their own. A technician from their team arrived, equipped with an iPod and a confident tone, conducting a room-by-room survey of my two-level home. Based on this assessment, they recommended a Mitsubishi Electric heat pump system to deliver both cooling and heating throughout my entire home. The installation was completed and within just two days, it was painfully clear that something was wrong. The second floor received airflow, but the first floor.? Nothing. No cool breeze in summer, no warmth in the chill. The vents were quiet as if they'd never been connected. I immediately contacted Jones Services to report the issue. A technician returned and confirmed that the ductwork installed was too long for proper airflow to reach the first floor. That was three months ago. Since then, it's been nothing but silence. I've made repeated calls. Follow-ups. Voicemails. Not one call returned. No resolution. No next steps. Just empty promises and unanswered messages. What that's meant for my family is more than just discomfort it's been a daily struggle. We've had to live confined to the second floor through sweltering heatwaves. Rooms downstairs are unusable. It's taken a toll not just physically, but emotionally too. This was supposed to be a solution. Instead, it's turned into an expensive, unresolved problem with no accountability. 7/30/2025 solution yet. Jones Services may have been well-rated once, but based on my experience, I can't recommend them. Communication is nonexistent, and service ends the moment the payment clears. Had Jones come out to remove refrigerant from a existing mini split system that wasn't working. Was quoted $1000 to remove and dispose when I declined they tried to negotiate to $700. Once again I declined so I was informed I owed $225.00 for them to come out and give me a price. Called office and was told that there was no cost to come out and give estimate. After doing research found out it only cost $50 to dispose of refrigerant. Clearly trying to take advantage of what they thought was a unknowing customer. read more

On 4/19/25, a service call was placed for a central AC unit which is not working. I asked Tatiana on the phone whether there is any diagnostic charges, and Tatiana answer was NO. I repeated the question multiple times as I found it odd that they are not charging a diagnostic fees as all the other HVAC contractors in the area. Derek C. arrived driving Jones truck, before even entering the residence Derek C was complaining about his own AC unit in his own residence that requires repair. Derek entered the electric room and looked at the unit and said, oh that is an old unit. Derek C asked to look at the outside unit, so I walked him outside, he looked at the tag behind the unit and read the year when it was made and said oh this is old unit. Without examining anything or using any tools; Derek C diagnosis was solely based on the unit's tag. Then he suggested the whole central AC system would be replaced. Furthermore, I informed Derek C. that the residents of the unit turned on the central AC while the outdoor weather was 27 degrees F, and he replied by "that's no problem". He then asked for a payment of $209.77 Diagnostic charge to start to examine the unit. Completely unprofessional, uneducated( NO expert in HVAC will state that turning on central AC in 27 F outdoor weather is NO PROBLEM) and manipulative starting from the secretary who lied about the diagnostic charges, and ending by the technician Derek C. who diagnosed the AC problem without even examining the unit. Stay away from Jones, they are liars and completely unprofessional. They just want your money. read more

Pre-review note: look at Yelp reviews, not just Google before hiring this company! This is going to be an honest review with a break down of the insane Buddy pricing of work I had done and the lack of clarity of services. I had 2 Jones service techs come out the same day. One was for electrical work to replace a switch and provide an estimate for ceiling fans, and the other was to look at plumbing in our main bedroom and fix as well as install a tub spout and shower head we have. The electric tech was very friendly and did a walkthrough of the house. I showed where the switch needed replacing and the ceiling fans would be installed for the estimate. He then added that our home did not have a surge protector and was not up to code with co and smoke detectors as we needed them in the bedrooms. We already had smoke detectors and separate co detectors on each floor. He told me the placement was bad and it was important to get them redone. I inquired further and said that it is good information and I would look into installing by screwing into the ceiling. He pushed back telling me that this was a wired job and as an electrician he should do it. I was quoted 1100 dollars for the wired installation of co detectors and smoke detectors. After the work started and almost done, I was then informed that only one of the units were wired and the rest were screwed into the wall. I felt like I was taken advantage of by the tech telling me that they are wired, when in fact only one was. It does not stop there. When the plumber came, he looked at the tub and said he would need to change the converter and possibly re plum the tub. He quoted me 1000 for this. When he inspected closer he said there was nothing he could do. I then asked him if we can do something about the quote, to which he charged 885. So essentially I paid almost 900 dollars for a diagnosis of a problem and having a tub spout (which I was surprised was not sealed with silicone sealant) and shower head installed, both of which I provided. In all for the work, (diagnosis, installation of parts I provided, and 1 wired co system and 5 ceiling mounted ones, and a new light switch, it came to a little over 2400 dollars. I honestly felt hoodwinked and just awful about the service. I felt the quotes were not clear and what was rendered was different than what was discussed. I share this story in the hopes that someone else does not fall for the "family run" and good reviews like I did and think that this is a honest company. After the work was done my husband called right away to discuss our concerns. We were told that is the manager would call the next day. I also got a check in call later in the day where I discussed my concerns. I was told that the manager was sent an email and will be getting back to us. We waited 2 days and heard nothing. I finally called back to inquire on the call we were supposed to get and was told that in the notes the manger looked over everything and the pricing looks good. I pushed back and reviewed my concerns with the friendly rep who offered me 200 dollars back. While this is better than nothing, it still does not excuse the ghosting of the manager, exorbitant pricing, and business practices. I have them do my sewer line to the street last year that was okay just recently I had them do install a faucet in my kitchen sink they totally ripped me off they want them over $400 to put a faucet in a sink I bought the faucet then when he was putting it in he jarred the drain pipes underneath so it started leaking so I called him back to please fix the pipes that you started to leak they told me now that wasn't their fault they want another 400 dollars to fix that I went to Home Depot and bought a kit for $19 two plastic pipes with two plastic nuts and washers I installed it in 20 minutes how can they justify $450 they are total rip offs do not use them look for a handyman or somebody that Home Depot recommends do not use Jones plumbing they did not even reach out to me after I told the guy to get lost you're ripping me off he said you have a nice day read more

If I could give Jones negative stars," I would ... let me start here. On Saturday 12/28/2024, I went online and scheduled a generator repair to take place on Thursday 1/2/2025 "between 8am and 4pm." I received a text response from Jones immediately after. On Monday 12/30, I called Jones to confirm the appointment and to try to get a more specific time frame. According to "Danielle," my 1/2 appointment was noted and she recommended that I call Jones on the morning of 1/2 to see which tech had been assigned and what time I could expect the tech's arrival. Yesterday (1/1), I received a text from Jones telling me that "[one] of its Residential Service Professionals ... will be arriving, Thursday January 2, 2025." The text asked me to reply my confirmation and I did. This morning, I called Jones (as recommended by "Danielle") and spoke with "Barbara." I asked what time I could expect a tech to come to do the repair. She stated that I should have been called to get a more specific description of the problem. I told her that I didn't get a call so she asked me questions about the situation which I answered including that we still had electrical power but we were concerned that the generator would not work in an outage (an occurrence that is all too often where I live). "Barbara" told me that the repair could not take place today but that she could schedule something for the following week -- most likely a $396 maintenance service call. This was not acceptable, and I told her that I needed to speak with my family to see who could be available on whatever date was given (since I had already blocked out my entire day today for the scheduled service). I also expressed my dissatisfaction with Jones' online system and its overall system of handling appointments. This is no way to run a business and expect that any good will can come of practices such as those I just experienced. I appreicated Mike's professionalism and initally left a 5-star, but I felt that I needed to revise my review because as a community, we rely on each other's experience and I didn't think rubber stamping a review is a good idea. First, the diagnosis was wrong; Mike gave me two options- without any gaurantee at 3500 and another at over 9,000 and insisted that "still there was no guarantee and that I might have needed to dig a new well that could go much higher". He thought the well was dry, I told him that it was impossible. He sent me two proposals. My plumber and another worker pulled the pump and realized it needed to be replaced: purchased a similar pump at less than $500 and at most $500 of labor, all done. Now I realize that the case was not complicated at all; all needed to be done was to go with the most likely reason as the well was very old. All I can say is that get a second opinon, there is huge difference between $1,000 and almost 10,000. Don't be fooled by 4.9 star, read through the reviewes. Most peopel- including myself- got a link the next day when I still had no idea what was going on. They truly catasrophized the situation to sell me services I didn't need. Using my plumber- who is a one-man-operation- saved me over $8,000. read more

WATCH OUT! I called Jones because my water started to back up. They came out and gave me pricing options ranging from $200 - $3,000 and were HEAVILY pushing the expensive options. The tech snaked the pipes to no avail and scheduled to have someone come the next day to jet out the pipes for $1,500 (while talking a lot about the max $3K option - prepping me for the higher expense). In the meantime, the town came out and pumped the septic tank. When that didn't clear the drain they referred me to another plumber who came out the next day, snaked the pipes, and fixed the issue for $250! Dealing with the Jones tech felt like dealing with a sleazy used car salesman, saying things like they are trying to "help ME" and acting all sad when the snake job didn't work and I would have to pay more money. Red flags everywhere. They are clearly pushing expensive, unnecessary services to bilk their customers (do they work on commission?). The honest, experienced, knowledgeable plumber who came out and fixed the issue will have all of my future business. read more

I had some electrical work done by Jones this past Friday. it took the technician forty five minutes to replace the three items he believed needed replacement . He had told me ,at the beginning, that the cost would be 1,665.06. which I agreed too. I then asked for a detailed breakdown of the repair/ replacement cost. He told me this information was unavailable! I then priced the three items in question on the internet and found there total cost was 180.00 dollars. The representatives doing the free annual clean of the furnace (following an expensive A/C repair) tried to convince me that I would have to get a new furnace because of mythological cracks leaking carbon monoxide. I believe they thought I would swallow this story because I am over 50, but my reading eyesight is perfect. My CO detector is also perfect and detects no CO at all in the house. They installed a ductless system for 8k 6 years ago -we have faithfully paid their extortionate prices to "service" it annually AND now a coil has gone 1 year after warranty (after they couldn't "fix it" last year.) Requested an online appointment from Jones right on their website. Scheduled for Friday April 14th. Got a call around 11AM stating that they could not get a tech out to look at my AC Condensing unit. Asked if I could be available Monday. I could not due to work so we scheduled for Thursday April 20th - I was told I would be the first one on the appointment list since we pushed it out a few days. I get a phone call at 5PM on Wednesday stating they could not make it Thursday due to the weather being cool and having too many appointments for heat (Yeah right...it was 60 degrees)...Agreed to move it to Friday April 21st (Today) get another call at 5PM stating the Tech is stuck on a job and cannot make it....could I reschedule for Monday... Told them to suck it...I'll call a service that is reliable and doesn't make people miss work for their lack of professionalism... Had jones come to one of my properties in Washington green new windsor ny to check Freon levels on central air conditioning . Technician opened unit inside and after a 30 second inspection told me he was red tagging unit as unsafe .... I asked how could this be done and he exclaimed there was a crack in the heating coil albeit a micro crack which was trivial at best, he then told me I should call sales ... I asked how could you red tag a unit when you did not run it to check how it burns of see if their was any issues at that point. He said it was not required and I should consider replacing unit. The tech did not use any instruments to see if carbon dioxide was an issue and sensors never went off in months past. The tech then went out side and took panel off unit and exclaimed in needed a capacitor and was 4 lbs low on Freon, and should consider calling sales to replace unit , tech also gave me a price of 1100 dollars for 4 lbs of Freon and a new capacitor ,or 2100 for ultraviolet light Freon and capacitor ,, tech was sent on their way and I utilized local professional plumber. The local professional checked Freon levels and determined unit needed 1 Lb of Freon and a new thermostat was needed inside this all at a cost of 600 dollars The outright dishonesty and incompetence of this company is criminal....stay away from Jones !!!!!!! read more

I called Jones for a whistling toilet. They came and said I could rebuild the toilet for $800 plus or get a new one for $1200 plus. I opted for the new. I told them I wanted something similar to what I had, a small American Standard with a standard bowl and height. The serviceman told me I should get the comfort height and since my husband is taller I agreed. They also said we needed a new water tank so the total was over $5000. We knew they were pricey as we had used them previously to fix our century old hot water heating system, but we had been pleased with the work. So we agreed to both and paid in advance as they requested. They came and installed the new toilet which was not only high, it was gigantic with an extended bowl in a not too big bathroom. It was so high my feet could not touch the floor. I called to let them know I was not happy with the toilet and would be replacing it. They insisted on sending out a technician who was a very nice young man. After much discussion the boss said they would replace the toilet for a 30% discount of $800 plus. I asked if I could see what the replacement would look like and they told me no, so I told them I would pass on that option and take care of it myself as I was afraid of a repeat. I went to Webb and picked out a lovely and pretty expensive Toto and got a plumber they knew to install it for a total of $900 for everything. It's perfect. Wish i'ld done that the first time. But, I have a new plumber who can also fix my water pressure because the water tank Jones installed has left me with low water pressure. One thing at a time. read more

Installed a brand new HVAC Heat Pump system these are not cheap. System has not worked correctly from day 1. We have so far had 7 attempts to get this system to work correctly. Currently we now have a burned out component and told it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get the part. On the previous attempts we were told 3 times there was a setting issue. Each time system would work for a couple of days and then fail. 4th visit was told we have a cooling leak. 5th visit was told a part was in backwards and that he fixed it. 6th visit was told wiring was wrong and that wires were crossed fixed again and system failed again. 7th visit board burned out needs a new part... maybe wires weren't crossed after all idk sounds fishy that part burned out after fixing wires. So now we have a 30,000 system that does not work. Can't go back to oil because we removed the old oil tank and lines and now we are stuck waiting on Jones to fix what they installed. This should be zero stars unless they can do something epic to fix all the wrongs they have done to us. read more

Brian from Jones came the same day that I called for the issue. He was professional, diagnosed the issue quickly, explained what he would do, completed the repair, tested and explained what was completed. The issue was a slow leak in a basement pipe that had a hole in it. I had called T Webber who had installed a hot water heater for me a few months ago and despite having spent a large amount of money with them in the past, they could not come out to fix this leaking pipe for a week! In 3/21/21 Jones installed new AC. The contract stated the first tune-up in 2022 will be complementary. We contacted them in March of 2022 for the tune up keeping up with the warranty. The first appointment made was cancelled by them. Made another one also cancelled. Then told us not till 8/22 was first available date. We questioned the warranty and also air filter which they have to change. They said, "No Problem". We didn't want to wait that long so they gave us May 2, Which they then cancelled. Borderline criminal how this company tries to take advantage. Was pretty certain well pump needed to be replaced of course I googled estimated prices and I was expecting $2000-$2500. Jones technician arrived first thing in morning looked at well and said, your looking at $5000. I said that seems high and he told me he wasn't a math major but he would double check the numbers. Then asked if I wanted a service contract on boiler and a/c because he could save me 10%. When I asked scope of work to be performed he broke it down as follows and said he was off a bit from original guesstimate. Replace new well pump new wires and piping $4300 and $367 to cut down well casing so he could get his machine over the well because this type of job can't be done by hand If it was just replace wiring and pump was still working then cost would be $2600. While he was here I called a few from Angies list. Reliable Well called back and told me they could come today and there pricing was $1550 for pump and additional $200 if wiring had to be replaced and $200 for pipe. I informed Jones of price, and asked if he could provide me a price of what parts cost and labor charge. He said he couldn't because his tablet wouldn't allow it and it protects me from being over charged by hourly rates. He went to his truck came back 5 minutes to say how good their workmanship was, and these other companies were most likely cutting corners, I'm sure he was directed to do so by sales manager. For Christ's sake I'm buying a pump not a Chevy. Other company came cut well casing installed new pump inspected wiring and Poly pipe and total bill was $1550. Saving me over $3000. Whole job took and hour and a half and they pulled the well pump up manually. Jones Services is the most unethical contractor I have encountered in my 29 years of living in Orange County. I can't imagine how many families have been taken advantage by this unscrupulous den of thieves. Look forward to spreading the word on how they conduct business. read more

A disgustingly stupid and agressive company. Set up appt for brand-new service and a service call was made the next day after which the tech pressured me into buy a maintenance contract I didn't need. I was VERY NICE to him -- I', new there; trying to be polite. Sums it up. read more

Ridiculously expensive. Knew I needed a job done today and sent someone only for an estimate so I had to pay the $100 trip fee. They knew they would not perform the job and only scammed me for the fee. 5 times higher than other electricians. DO NOT USE THEM. Update on 09/30/2017 - Now, two months later, they decide to try to understand what happened and I've been getting calls at night and messages through Yelp. Called Jones for a clog in my sink (been having problems with it intermittently for the last few years). Clinton came to assess the situation. He was friendly and very professional. He gave a detailed explanation of my options, I selected the one I thought would be best and he went to work. Long story short, we discovered a bigger problem with my pipes that could not be solved right away. Jones is definitely top notch in their professionalism and service. read more

I am so disappointed in this company. My mother had an emergency plumbing issue (her toilet was backed up and starting to leak into her basement). When Jones came to fix the problem, they snaked her pipes and then assured her that the problem was resolved. The very next day, the toilet was backed up once again and starting to flood the basement worse than before. She called Jones and explained that the problem was not fixed, and they told her that they were going to charge her anyway for going back out to "solve" the plumbing issue again. Although my mother explained that a full inch of water was accumulating in her basement and she had no working bathroom, this company said my mother would have to wait several business days to get service. THEY THEN CANCELLED this appointment THREE TIMES, as a Saturday appointment turned into a Monday appointment, which later turned into a Wednesday appointment. My mother is older and should not have to live without a bathroom because Jones couldn't get their act together, so I contracted a different company to come fix the problem. I am very disappointed in this company for taking advantage of my mother in this manner and will continue to urge people to look elsewhere when in need of plumbing services (or any services this company provides) in the future. read more
