For the last ten years, I have been using WK Mechanical for service on my furnace and my air conditioning. The first summer in my new home, the five month old air conditioning was not working. It was July and we were in a heat wave! I called the company I had used in the past when I lived in Monroe, but they did not seem to think there was any urgency and tried to schedule me for a week out. I hung up and went back to the yellow pages. There was the name I had recognized for many years, WK Mechanical. I called, they had a service technician there within an hour or so and service was restored. Apparently, the techs hired by the builder of my new townhouse did not install the unit properly. WK made everything work well with the unit and I was charged what I thought was quite fair a fee. The technician recommended that I have a service contract to ensure that both heat and air would be properly maintained for years to come. I did exactly that and it has been one of the best homeowner decisions I have ever made. Bob has always been the service technician except for one time. One evening, about 6 or 7 years ago, it was an icy and snowy, frigid night. I worked late in Poughkeepsie, drove home gripping the steering wheel as I hated to drive on ice, hoping to be home safe and warm. It only took a few minutes once home to realize that the heat was not on. I hated to call for anyone to have to come out, but WK sent out a tech who drove from Goshen to my home in the Town of Newburgh and arrived within an hour. There was a tiny part on the furnace that had corroded so he replaced it and the heat powered on once again! Because I had a service contract, I paid very little for the part. I was relieved and beyond grateful! As I no longer reside in Orange County, NY and my home has sold, I am sad to be saying goodbye to the wonderful people at WK Mechanical as I don't think they can make service calls to the State of Florida! Trish has always been so kind and helpful over the phone to help me schedule my service as my work schedule was so irregular. Bob has been so great in showing up always on time, always called to let me know just when he would arrive which was helpful as many times I was racing on 84 to get home to meet him there. Not only did he perform service in the most professional way, he also always made sure to leave everything as he found it. the vertical blinds in the basement were always closed, door was locked, I never had to check. Let me tell you how rare that is! Most people coming into a home to perform a service leave things open, ajar, not locked. After the service, Bob always reviewed with me what he did, how things are operating and made me feel well protected as always. Bob is kind and considerate and it has always been a pleasure to see him. He has educated me on many things. I love smart people! He is a gentleman, a friend and a patriotic man! I will miss him dearly. I have recommended that the family who will be living in my home continue to use WK Mechanical. Stay away from these people!! Asked them for an estimate on an oil furnace repair job and the guy was here no more than 10 minutes and charged me a $335 trip charge which was not mentioned to me when we called. With tax it came out to $416.28. Arranged to have an estimate on a new furnace/AC unit and their salesperson came out to give us an estimate--which he did--but he never followed-up with us, which is a sales NO-NO. We would have gone with them had they bothered to follow-up but charged us a yearly maintenance fee (since we didn't use their services). Honestly, we forgot about signing up for their yearly maintenance until they called us in October 2019 to renew--that's when I realized we were charged for servicing our furnace (which never happened). So after contacting them about this in October, they remarked that they didn't know why we were charged so much and would get back to me. Well, they never did--so I called them back (again) today and their whole story changed, and I realized that I was scammed by them. Customer service woman (Joanne?) was somewhat rude on the phone--probably because she knew I caught her in a lie (she mentioned that I never spoke to her on the phone even though I remember speaking with her last month). The only reason they get one star is because Yelp doesn't allow 0 stars. The BBB will be getting a call from me today. TOTAL SCAMMERS--STAY AWAY!! read more

This company has been out to my home three times to service a brand new central air unit. It will work for a week then says a different error code. Requested service and they refused to come out because it's a holiday weekend even though there is water leaking from the unit in my living room and destroying all of my furniture. How to you offer 24 emergency service and refuse to come? Word to the wise NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. The equipment is garbage and the technicians jerry rig it each time then it breaks within a week. The last time the technician was here he disconnected the drain sensor which caused the unit to fail and the condensation pump not to turn on resulting in water building up and leaking out of the ceiling. Woke up this morning to an 80 degree home with water leaking all over the living room, my dogs throwing up because of the heat, and they won't send someone to fix it until Wednesday of next week! Poor customer service and products are not installed properly. Such a shame they treat paying customers this way. Thank you for your broken junk and your prompt help. We hired WK to replace our furnace and install Central Air. After getting quotes from various local companies, WK had the best price. During the three days of work, Steve and his crew were very communicative and professional. My husband and I couldn't be present during the work, so Steve would call and give periodic updates. The day that the new furnace had been installed, we felt that the furnace could have been placed a little more strategically to allow for more space in our laundry room, so we called Steve. He personally came and took a look and agreed that the placement could have been better, and had guys there the next day to fix it. The pilot light to our hot water heater also went out right after the work had finished and Steve sent a guy over at 8PM to fix it for us. Once again the amazing team of WK Mechanical comes thru with flying colors!...of course my whole house generator ( 11+ years of perfect service) decides to expire at the start of the winter ( storm looming), Called WK and without fail, had estimate and ordered the new and improved unit...and in a timely manor the "crew" was at the location, they worked efficiently and without breaks. They stayed thru completion to insure weekly test procedure was working...they explained everything thoroughly and left the snowy landscape as if they were never there...work ethics of this company are second to none! We hired Wk Mechanical to replace my furnace and a/c. When our furnace died in the middle of winter Steve lended us heaters to stay warm and told us even if you don't go with us you keep them until you have heat back. They had a fair price with everyone and we went with them. It is the best investment that I have made. There whole entire team from top all the way down are awesome. They are friendly, kind, they make you feel like you known them for a long time. They are very professional. I have also had my hot water heater go out and they replaced it also. Just had a replacement Lennox central A/C installed by W.K. Mechanical (9/21/17). They were professionally efficient and completed the install in even less time than they said they would. All of the team (from the Comfort Consultant Alberto to Steve the job assessor to the installers) were polite, knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy their work even though my attic space was small and HOT. They cleaned up well and left no trace of the old system or the cardboard and other refuse behind. They even vacuumed the areas under the drop cloths they had put down prior to beginning the job. read more

I cannot rave more about a business than this one. From the first moment on the phone telling your situation, the staff is wonderful. When the technician comes to your home, for all those women alone at home, the gentlemen are pleasant friendly but professional. Work amazingly hard but cheerful and while putting you at ease, they're so competent. Then at the end, the prices they charge are reasonable and fair. You will never regret your experience.
