They both overrode our authority and they lied to the judge about it! Now the other attorney Kochan & Kochan is wanting to get control of the trust himself. I think they planned the whole thing up in advance.

I would NOT suggest renting from the Heins Agency…read more We rented a small 1 bdrm apartment from them for 3 years and not once were we late on rent and we always kept the apartment clean because they like to make surprise visit (which is illegal without a 24 Hour notice according to their lease) and we followed all the rules in the 15page lease as well as we could. First of all, before even moving in we had problem with the Heins Agency. We moved into our apartment 10 after the day we were supposed to because they needed the time to clean the apartment after the other tenants. As with most leases, we had to be out of our last place by the end of the month so we had to move all of our stuff and live with my husbands sister and her family until they finished. We didn't let this bother us because the next 3 years everything was fine, the landlord liked us and we liked them, we figured as long as we were good tenants and paid rent, we shouldn't have anymore problems. Before moving out of the apt, we cleaned the apartment very well, like we were supposed to and we expected to get the security deposit back or at least most of it. A month and a half after we moved out we get something in the mail stating that the Heins Agency was suing us for over $1,000 with a list of complete B.S. The list included 63 hours of labor (at $15/hour) to clean the small apartment. Their cleaning/labor list included 4 hours to clean behind the fridge and oven, 4 hours to clean the refrigerator (after I already cleaned it), 10 hours of vacuuming/mopping (which I did and it didn't take me that long) and 5 hours cleaning a small bathroom and so on. Along with the list of labor, they sent receipts of the items they needed to buy to "fix" what we apparently broke. According to them we broke the sink and left it sitting on the floor so we had to pay for all the parts to fix that, they charged us for a $30 electric sander (which I have no idea where they would have needed to use that anyways), they charged over $80 for general cleaning supplies and $70 for new blinds (including some for the neighbors apartment) even though I replaced all of them the day I moved out. Lucky for us, a good friend of ours is a lawyer in the area so we talked it over with him and we counter-sued them for not following Act 710: Security Deposit Return Act which pretty much stated that they needed to give us the itemized list within 30 days of vacating the property which they did not. In the end, everything got dropped but it was still a Major headache to deal with all of this and I don't want other people to have to deal with this. I have now heard from multiple people that something similar has happened to them after renting from the Heins Agency, so if you do rent from the Heins Agency, I recommend that you take pictures of everything when you move in and when you move out, a very detailed list of everything that is wrong when you move in, and keep any receipts if you buy something for the apartment. DO NOT RENT FROM THE HEINS AGENCY
