The compliments re my hair, have come in thick and fast since that time. One lady in my exercise group recently, just sort of stared at me! Marco is my partners hairdresser and happens to be the owner of the salon- he is terrific. One of the major draw cards with this salon is the super friendly and inviting staff. Overall I have been happy with the service and love how my hairs smells once I've been there (it is seriously amazing!! :P). This place is always busy and has a fun, casual vibe amongst the young staff. They always look after me well when I go there. They offer magazines, tea or coffee and I have even seen champagne being served also! They also offer waxings, tanning, nails and piercings. I had my tragus (bit covering the ear hole) pierced here and it turned out perfect; it didn't hurt or get infected (but that's just my experience). It cost about $40. Hair cuts and colour can get a bit expensive though. One criticism I have is when they are washing your hair and you are expecting one of those amazing head massages, but it's not really that amazing and the neck rest is pretty uncomfortable. I like that they don't take themselves too seriously while at the same time managing to create beautiful cuts and colours. All the staff I have seen have been friendly and down to earth and you get the feeling that they really love working here. I have taken my daughters here for cuts colours, waxing and piercing. Matt, who has done many different piercings on all the females in the family is an absolute scream and I seem to see him out and about everywhere. He is always very diligent and takes his time when it comes to the more sensitive piercings (No! I mean nose and rook piercings, nothing too shady here). On arrival you are seated and greeted with a warm cup of herbal tea and then taken through consultation on your hair requirements. After the initial consultation, you are then led to have your hair washed in comfortable lie-down chairs, while watching TV on the overhead plasmas if you wish. Yep, a rinse and set and she's done until next week, it's like ground hog week over and over again and each time I see her the hair is the same, I feel like giving it a little tug when she's not going to notice just to make sure it's not a wig! (Note: I'll live another day as she'd kill me with the mention of 100 years, so shhhh!). My m-i-n must be a real trend setter as this ain't no blue rinse place either, instead it's a brilliant, hip, award winning hair dresser and a real funky front display. One of the formula's for their success is simple customer service and listening to what the customers want and they have grown so quickly since the owner Sally took the reins 10 years ago. They have about eleven hairdressers working there and are constantly getting new business besides the regulars. The way they're going it'll be a family business for a long time yet with Sally's son being heir apparent in years to come. The salon has won awards as long as your arm and it just goes to show what a great team can do in a small local community setting. So if my mother in law says they're ok then they're ok by me :-)

There is ample car parking behind the salon so you don't have to risk your vehicle being sideswiped! Mantra is staffed by a young but experienced team of hairdressers. They are up to date with what's on trend and have never done a bad job with my hair. The best part? They charge fair prices! I literally pay 1/3 of what I used to pay when getting my hair done at a well known chain close to this particular salon - and I'm going by the prices my former stylist charged 2 YEARS ago. Be prepared that because they charge fair prices they will not spend a lot of time chit chatting with you and work quickly; as you can guess by now they are extremely busy on Saturdays!

She takes the time to address your current hair concerns, offers tips to suit your face frame, and ask all the right questions, so rest assured when I tell ya, you can leave your tresses to Lucette, as she will take care of you and have you step out looking like a diva!! I was very impressed with her work, but mostly with her dedication and time she spent on ensuring I looked my best. No rush work, no glancing at the clock, no taking calls (I've experienced this in other salons)...just perfect one on one time. Am so going back to her, and look forward to my next appointment with her. This time, I feel like a burst of colour for my tresses. This salon takes the idea of relaxation to a whole new level…read more When you sit in the chair, they massage your shoulders, and brush your hair before they start with big bristle brushes that really massage your scalp. The staff are all really lovely and the salon is very stylish. I went here recently on a whim and just had my hair washed and straightened, and I was very pleasently surprised with the service. Abache salon uses a range of organic hair products that have minimal nasties in them. So instead of the chemical laidened shampoo and conditioner you find at other salons, you get a much nicer treatment here. This is great for the staff, and the clients. The basin area is called the "Relaxation Zone" it is in a seperate room and there is a fish tank in the ceiling and calming music played in this area. The lighting is lower and the basins are probably the most comfortable I have ever sat at. They have a long lounge type chair that stretches out in front of them, and the layout allows the hair stylist to be able to wash your hair from behind you. The position of the basin means that the head massage that you get when your hair is washed is to die for! Very relaxing! The over all service at this salon was second to none, and the pricing was very reasonable - I will definitely be going back.
