Rather disappointed with our most recent interaction. I will start by saying we've done business with Jordan Air for over ten years, due to knowing them through the school our children attended - nice folks. When we replaced our a/c and gas furnace five years ago, we bought the replacement through Jordan Air because they were competitive in pricing. Now, for a sad turn of events. Our A/C went out on a Friday evening in late August. My wife called and a technician (Jake) was dispatched quickly to diagnose the problem. The technician was professional and did a great job explaining what was going on (faulty controller on the outdoor unit). So, on Friday night we were quoted $300 to replace the controller board under warranty by a very professional young man. When I called the office and spoke to Brian on Monday morning for a breakdown on the costs involved ($300 seems a bit steep for warranty work - the job takes less than 30 minutes with post install testing), he asked if he could call me back "as soon as his computer booted up." An hour and a half later, I called back and he told me "they (unspecified party) would call me back as soon as they were finished with their current call." What a surprise! I should have known this would happen as Brian passed the buck to someone else the last time I had to speak with him a few years ago regarding a float valve on the condenser drain. Fortunately, someone did call back quickly, but could not provide anything other than, "it costs $300". The board was ordered on Monday and arrived on Thursday. The technician made the replacement (30 minutes, as expected) and told us the high pressure switch was failing and that it was what had caused the board to fail. Another quote for $300 for warranty replacement work (I sensed a theme) and possibly another 4 day wait (it was the Thursday before Labor Day weekend). Both my wife and I let Jake know that he had done a great job, but that we were miffed at possibly running our A/C in August with no high pressure lock out. I told him to send the estimate, but not to execute as I was going to call around to get competitive quotes. Magically, they located a switch locally within 30 minutes of the conversation, Jake was able to make the replacement the same day and Jordan knocked $115 off the price on the estimate, so the 45 minutes required to replace the switch and test everything only cost us $185 (warranty work, so no cost for the $51 switch translates to a rather pricey labor rate!). For replacement of two parts under warranty and a six day wait, we paid almost $500, plus $150 for the initial Friday after hours service call. We have exclusively used Jordan for a very long time (over 10 years) and have been very satisfied. I called around after the Friday debacle and learned another respected local firm charges less than 2/3 what Jordan charges for the same services. We couldn't do anything about it at the time - no A/C in Florida in August requires immediate resolution. Jordan is sharp, technically which is nice, as this is a small town. But they are pricing themselves out of the market. I wish them well but will think twice before calling them again. read more

Jordan has closed their doors permanently I.am told by the new company due to health reasons for the owner. No existing customers were contacted, the service agreements only transfer to the new company to do a checkup, they are not honoring any problems with anything Jordan installed so be warned. My HVAC system cost me over $6k with Jordan and is not even 10 months old...the outside unit will not kick in at all. I had the service agreement with Jordan so I didn't pay extra for after hours or weekend calls. The new company doesn't honor that. It would cost me $200 just to get them out here...and..again, they're not honoring any of Jordan's work... such a disappointment. They should have at least sent something to their existing customers to let us know. read more

VERY disappointed with this company. I paid 3K to have a new a/c installed two months ago and now it is no longer cooling and I have been told that I will be responsible for repairs -- on work THEY did. Obviously, they do not stand by their service or their products. read more

The dreaded nightmare scenario of every Floridian (A/C troubles not alligators) has befallen me and like every other average homeowner I am confronted with the search for a trustworthy company to hire that won't completely scam my family out of any hope of retaining enough funds for retirement, college, vacation, or frankly a proper burial if I have a heart attack before this is all over with. Unfortunately this company was not the one for several reasons. Backstory: I just recently began a journey into the dark thorny forest of home insurance negotiations when my living room tile began leaking from the grout. The inspector discovered the source of water to be a clogged and leaky a/c that had avoided notice by leaking under the tile into the *gasp* wood flooring underneath. In my urgency to find a reputable a.c. repairman I immediately created an Angie's List account, where Jordan Air displayed many favorable reviews. They had an advertised special for a $99, 20 point AC tune up which promised to thoroughly evaluate the condition and performance of my unit and also flush out the lines. I purchased the deal through Angie's List selecting 3 available dates that I could schedule on, and being informed in the purchase receipt that I would be contacted within a few business days. After over a week without being contacted, I called the company directly to inquire about scheduling. At this time I was put on hold by a polite but uncertain young man, to whom I gave my transaction ID and was eventually told that he would need to call me back. He did so in about thirty minutes, this time seeming more confident, though a little worked up, and informed me that he could schedule the appointment but that I would have to pay them in cash and try to sort out a refund with Angie's List because he just didn't feel that they were getting enough money from Angie's List, and some other stuff about how Angie's list just isn't fair to businesses. I was a bit frustrated but agreed, scheduling as soon as I could. The man then proceeded to seek reassurance several times that I would have the cash for the appointment when they arrived, and then tried to sell me on a yearly maintenance plan. Despite this setback, I tried to give the company the benefit of a doubt only to experience more awkwardness and disappointment. The repairman showed up on time (which is a plus) but immediately began pressuring us into signing up for their maintenance plan. He then proceeded with the tune up, however I was not convinced that he upheld the promises made in the original offer. This was mainly because he seemed more concerned with attempting to convince us that our unit was mere moments from falling apart, and that our only hope was to purchase a new unit fom them or to purchase their maintenance plan. He parted with an ominous remark about how the (insert mechanical part name here) miiiiiigggghhht last a few more days, a coercive scare tactic thoroughly unappreciated by me. *My suspicions were later confirmed when a repairman from Barrett A/C and Mechanical successfully flushed a clog the size and texture of a New York City sewer rat out of the compressor line. read more

Fast, responsive, and competent services, whether in response to a routine or emergency request for help. Great spring and winter check-ups can be contracted for a very reasonable fee. Technicians are friendly, courteous, and willing to answer technical questions in lay person's terms. And, describe what they need to do, if anything, what work is involved, the cost and what they did when the job is finished, to the customer's complete satisfaction. A great company. And, you won't see the company truck parked in the driveway time and time again to "fix" the problem(s). Jordan Air does it right the first time. read more

I've never met a company owner that cared more. In this area of Florida, finding good, hardworking, knowledgeable, caring technicians is not always an easy feat. However it is even more impressive to find an owner that wants it done right, even if it means coming over on a weekend after hours to verify the work was done right? We had an accident where a technician stepped through our ceiling. The owner did not hesitate to fix the issue immediately, after coming and looking himself, he had a drywall guy that did Such a great job you couldn't tell anything had happened. Fast forward to two years later, our air conditioner had a manufacturers defect and we had a Freon leak. So had to call to have our AC checked out again as it neared 80 degrees inside in September, and they were able to do it same day! I also mentioned that the doors they installed to the return air were already breaking. The owner came back out (we live in Destin, the business is in Niceville) and walked through and said he would personally replace those doors. Companies are not perfect, employees are not perfect. If you don't say something, the problem won't get fixed. I am very glad I found a company that responsibly responds to all issues and cares about getting it right. Not what they used to be. I have used Jordan for the past four years. Initially they were great and I was satisfied. Recently however they misdiagnosed an issue with my compressor. When I figured it out they confirmed and fixed the issue. However, they never offered me a discount on the first service call. I ended up going with one of there former employees who was initial technician four years ago. read more

We had an established relationship with a gentlemen who had his own business and also worked for other companies off and on. He finally retired. He was great and like a member of the family. We were very worried we would not find another person/company that could fill his shoes. Thru a friend's recommendation and what I found on the web I went with Jordan Air. They were very professional, priced fine, and very welcoming. We had what turned out to be a non-issue, but because we were concerned they came back the same day. No charge. They even replace a small part that probably did not need to be replaced. Had no hint of irritation and just concern for us being sure. Just wow. read more
