Five years ago I paid One Hour to replace my air & heat system at a cost over $11K. He sold me on the warranty. I was assured that all I had to do was pay once a year for a maintenance visit I was "good to go" for ten years. (all parts and labor) A total lie. OR IN MY OPINON a total deception by fraudulent means. Ask yourself if you want to spend thousands and be lied to about the so-called parts and labor warranty. He wanted to charge me almost $500 to clean coils which is 90% labor. Company installed a 10k$ Rheem A/C unit in the home I purchased which has a 10 yr warranty from manufacturer. Now refuses to honor warranty. According to House Bill 1203, . It requires the manufacturer's warranty for an HVAC system to automatically transfer to the new homeowner when a property is sold. Company goes on to say part is unavailable and a new unit will need to be purchased. Also a lie. I spoke to Rheem and a compatible part is available. Company is corrupt. Do yourselves a favor. Don't ever use One Hour Air conditioning for your cooling systems. They have not resolved all the issues with the unit we have that is only 4 years old. I have rescue dogs and I have a seizure disorder meaning it is dangerous for me to overheat. This system is under warranty and has 6 monthly checks to make sure it is running properly. This week the system went down and several times, technicians have been out to look at it throughout the week. It needs a new compressor, they have the wrong one in stock. So they have to order another one. That means a 3 day Veterans day weekend without air-conditioning when the weather is getting hotter. I called them myself and explained that they need to do something and soon. So the ball is in their court.. I waited for a call back from their manager.. the saga continues I called back after not receiving a call back as promised a few hours later and was told that the manager wasn't available or in his office but would likely respond within two days. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! It doesn't matter that the services provided under warranty, service is service.. DO BETTER ONE HOUR. My husband is also a veteran and deserves better too. read more

Overpriced and poor quality technicians and management. We've spent over 12k on an entire new unit, duct cleaning, and then freon (after their 3yr old coil failed) Now the system won't cool below 79. They have been out 6 times in just over a month and lie each time that 'it should be good now" I now have to run portable AC units to keep my family somewhat cool. I am leaving this review for an older friend of mine in Freeport, Florida, who doesn't know how to leave a review. She got an estimate for a repair from this company and was told her AC heat pump unit is leaking and that the whole thing needed to be replaced and it would cost $10,000. She is an older person and doesn't have a lot of money so this was very upsetting to her. Got her a second opinion from someone I trust who said it was not leaking, did not have to be replaced, and the only thing that needed to be done is replace the coil and a couple of other small parts. Install service of new unit was floorless, however, after service representation is only a two star rating. A few attempts to get replacement filter media material has proven fruitless. Supposed to be free of charge with new unit install, waiting two months for the filter material, doesn't seem to be forthcoming. Had enough calling 1hour for disposition. I contacted another business when my AC stopped working and they quoted me $1800 to fix my issue. 1 Hour came in and contacted my AC manufacturers and found out the part is still under warranty and they are doing the repair for only $960. My tech was courteous, kind, and knowledgeable and made sure I was taken care of and even got me a military discount. Pus I dont pay until the job is done. INCREDIBLE JOB, Jay! These guys were alright at installing my system a four years ago. I feel like they got a new (intolerable) telephone torture system since then. I hung up after the first telephone torture system passed me off to the second telephone torture system, which repeated exactly the same (insulting, unnecessary) ridiculous reminder, I'm being recorded...Really? These guys are so self-import, they actually need two different telephone torture machines, both making me wait, wasting my time, making certain I haven't been in a coma for the last 25-30 YEARS, since the 'Expectation' of being recorded (for training & quality assurance) when calling a business became the NORM! I just wanted to schedule regular service calls for maintenance; but, I could no longer take it when the second torture machine repeated the moron warnings. I had to hang up, before I ever got to a human. It would not surprise me if it went on a while. When companies get these machines, they feel they are entitled, maybe even required to tell us every single little thing they please, before we get the privilege of bothering any actual human. I disagree. I'm not a moron. Any lawyer unable to support the position everyone should assume recording, when calling a company, is also not worth their salt! I have used them on a few occasions. The most recent was a tub faucet install. The technicians were very friendly, professional and very efficient. Will use them again without hesitation. And as a single female I felt no creepiness from any of there technicians that have come out to my home for repairs. And you may laugh, but this is a big deal and is greatly appreciated. read more

The technicians are nice and professional, but the prices and up-sell are crazy. We went with another company and saved $3,000 for the same equipment and service plan. Their sister company, Benjamin Franklin plumbing, is even worse. Way more expensive than the competition. We installed the septic pump they recommended and two years later they told us we needed a new pump--$5,000. When I called the manager with questions he scolded me. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!! I have never written a review before but my experience with One Hour HVAC was so terrible, I would not want anyone to make the same mistake I did. I called them to replace a thermostat on my HVAC system. They arrived on time and did install the thermostat. Because the technician was so polite and professional, I decided to sign up for their yearly maintenance plan ($190/year) The technician said he wanted to go outside and check on AC unit. When he came back 10" later, he said my unit was 2 # low on R-22 Freon and he was recommending that I replace the entire HVAC system. I told him I didn't want to make any decisions at that time as my HVAC system had been working great. The next day when I turned my AC on, there was no cold air coming out. I called One Hour and they immediately sent another technician who "check everything out" and reported that my HVAC system was completely out of Freon and he also recommended just replacing the entire system as repair would be costly. He said the Freon would cost $120/# and he estimated I would need about 10# plus at least a new evaporator coil ($1500) "Not worth it on such an old unit" he said. He offered to have an "comfort care specialist" come and talk to me about a replacement system. This person arrived 4 hours later and gave me prices for a new system. He did offer to fill my system up with Freon but when I did not sign a contract that night he did not do it. Because I was getting very suspicious of One Hour and had read other YELP reviews, I called another HVAC company to come talk with me. I did decide to purchase a new HVAC system as mine was old, but will always believe that One Hour was responsible for needing to do that at this time. 1. My HVAC system was working great until One Hour came - 1st visit "2 # low on Freon," second visit 36 hours later "Completely out of Freon." 2. All 3 technicians were very friendly, courteous but appeared insistent that I needed to buy a new system from them 3. Freon price quoted at $120/pound (on Amazon, it is $37/pound) 4. The EXACT same HVAC system was $10,190 with One Hour and $6248 with the second (very reputable HVAC company in The Panhandle. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!! read more

I had a maintenance program with One Hour, so when our AC failed last week I called. Got an appointment the next day, great right..no! After a little fiddling I was told I needed a new fan motor. Ok..how much? $1100~. Ok needed AC, it was about 95°. He said it could be a a few days, but looked like there was one in Pensacola. Great. Waited 4 days called local office, well you get sent to Sarasota or somewhere. Told me they were still waiting for part. Can you put me through to Niceville office? They say they are attempting to, but a manager would be calling. Sure. They finally call me on 6th day, set up appointment next day. Get text they are on their way. Never show up. Called office, they aren't sure what is going on, call center people were very nice, lets elevate this up the chain..yada, yada. 45 minutes later and call center manager gets on, tells me it's the fault of the parts person, she thought the part was in. Where is part? No idea. But a local manager was going to call. Waited till 3pm. Called another AC repair place, by 4:20 I had a working AC. Without telling him the details he described what had happened! Nailed it! Get you hot for a week, tell you the whole unit needs repaired/replaced etc. Pretty accurate. Seems the issue was a stuck fan blade and he said all technicians know this happens. The motor was dying, and should be replaced but it potentially would last a few months, and he showed me how to fix it if it got stuck again. I asked how much for new motor...~$500. I asked how long to get, he said they have then at the shop and could get in tomorrow at 8am. So I have a working AC, will get a new part tomorrow for 1/2 the price. Had a checkup as part of my yearly contract. On the previous checkup they tried to convince me that my return was too small and I needed a new duct system to the tune of $14000. Had the system checked out by another company who indicated there was nothing wrong with the duct system I told the dispatcher not to try and sell me anything on my upcoming visit. The technician tried to convince me that there was a booster part which was defective that was installed on installation and not by them. When I asked how much to replace he indicated $238. I checked on line and the cost for the part was $10.95 and takes less than 5 minutes to install. I recommend you consider other companies for servicing your A/C. read more

We have had nothing but issues with this company. We purchased a new unit from them and got a lemon! We are on their "service plan" and constantly are having issues... We even purchased one of their "UV lights" to help control mold and other contaminants. During our most recent service, the Tech. noticed that we have "growth" in and on the unit. The light had burned out and they want over $200.00 to put a new bulb in! I now have a black substance coming out of my vents and they don't want to do anything about it..... We don't have extra money laying around since my wife has STAGE 4 cancer (breast, liver and bone) ... Money is tight, and this SUCKS that I have to worry about her health... My children's health,,, and now, our HOME...All because their service and products are substandard. They have even had the GULL to try and sale us another unit!!! Our 22 yr old AC popped its capacitor and we called an Repairman based on some local awards the company had won. He replaced the capacitor and did the whole you need to replace everything pitch, and even gave us a quote before he left after bad mouthing other AC companies. A couple weeks later we did decide to replace our old AC unit so I got a quote from 4 different companies and One Hour was the only one to do a air flow study to properly size the unit and air intake. So my decision was easy. They gave me several manufacturers to choose from and different financing options, they just offered more. Do your research before you buy from any company, get the model numbers, warranty information, and read it for yourself and ask questions. I did hours of research and One Hour answered all my questions concerning service and warranty. Installers were very courteous and even cleaned up before they left. Within the first 3 minutes of him arriving, he wanted to know where my husband worked. Then looks at my unit and tells me a bunch a garbage and I need a new unit for 8500. He lied about so much I can't even go into it all. I'm convinced this company is a total scam to sell new units. Horrible experience. End result, the duct work had come loose and the unit froze. Just a word of wisdom if you find yourself with air conditioning issues. I highly recommend not going with one hour heating and air. They are professional salesmen and will push the cost of a new system instead of fixing any issues you may have. Had an estimate done to fix my unit recently and was quoted well over 5K to fix, or I could buy a new system starting at 8K. Was very persistent on me replacing the unit. I went with a local father and son team and they not only fixed the unit (just a bad capacitor and low coolant) for under $300 but found some shady issues such as leaving my refill caps off my system so the coolant will slowly bleed out. read more

This happened just before Thanksgiving. They had a man out here the next day but he could not fix it, a part had to be ordered. Here we are 10 days before Christmas and the part is still not in. When I have called to ask about it, I am told the part has not come in yet but the would check and call me back. Still waiting for the call. I hate to sound paranoid, but my guess is its been cold lately and they have been taking care of new business, after all they are making money. They already got mine. Everyone very courteous and professional. However, bought a high dollar new 2 stage unit in May and it has not worked properly. MULTIPLE visits to my home and still issues. First it would not cool. Humidity in my home is always between 62-65 percent, with the temp set at 70-71. Added a hard start, which was told should have been installed with the unit. Finally told the coils in the new unit were defective. I have been waiting for almost a week for the replacements to come in. Yet again another unsatisfied visit from the technician/salesman of One- Hour Air Conditioning. Salesman/technician was supposed to be here for the winter inspection of the air-conditioner they installed in 2014 (worst mistake I ever made). Typically, they are always looking for something to sell me instead of maintaining the system. I will give him credit, though, he found something others never looked at - the bottom of the coils inside the house covered in some moldy growth. Didn't bother to clean it, finished his "inspection" and left. Must have really shook him as he didn't even try to sell me something. I sit here in my Florida home in 68% humidity (usually whatever outside humidity level is) sweating because of the lousy undersized air-conditioner they installed and have been trying to get me to pay for their mistake ever since. If I could afford it, I would have another company come in and rip this garbage out of my house. I guarantee it won't be One-Hour Air Conditioning and Heating. BUYER BEWARE!! This company is awful!! I have had repeatedly bad experiences. Starting with instalation. Never sealed the around the pipe in my attic. Consequently a gigantic rat took up residence in my attic eating whatever it could sink its teeth into. Then I was talked into having my duct work blown out I was told that there wwould be a 60% improvement. Didnt happen $$$ down the drain. Starting in June I had my yearly visit. Again I listened and installed a amp protector to the tune of $ 217. Two days later no a/c. 2200 hrs a very inappropriate repair person shows up and using a cell phone for light he's working on my unit. Says that the hard start was installed improperly. Next day the boss comes out.Of course the hard start had nothing to do with it. Now its a "surge" that has destroyed my ac. The compressor is fried along with the plug and the contactor and I'll need aton of air coolant. It's going to take time for replacement parts. A window unit was placed , my window was broken and remains broken after 3 different men on 3 different occassions have come to my home. Next I bought a surge protector another $237. 2wks later my a/c not only isn't working, it's stuck in " heat" mode. Now I have an "electrical" problem. I was told by the boss that this would require "extensive" work trying to rewire or I could buy an "expensive " wireless system. The end of this saga is that I called Mills HVAC. At my house the next day , spent 45 minutes here and fixed my a/c for $225. The tech was knowledgable and professional. My window is broken and I'm certain that I'll end up in small claims court. So you have been warned do no use this company! I see from reviews there are many others who have been poorly served by one hr air. BUYER BEWARE!! I'm a service technician for a local company in fort Walton beach and have been for the past 16 years. I believe in a honesty and getting the problem solved. I've personally gone behind "one hour air" multiple times for second opinions where they have tried to rip people off! Their service technicians are among some of the most dishonest people I ever heard of in the industry, where we are supposed to be helping people. I'm giving them too much credit calling their employees service technicians. They are nothing more than script readers, and have no clue about HVAC! They only do what they're crooked boss tells them to do, they do not care about the customer. Our experience was unsatisfactory. Installed 3 ton HVAC. They failed the county inspections 2 times and finally got it right from the 1st install on Jul 4. Final approval was after Thanksgiving in Nov. The tech guys did a great job but the bill collectors were very pushy and insisted on payment even after failing county inspection. Careful giving them your credit card info. We haven't lived in Florida for 1.5 years and they charged our card for servicing an air conditioner. When my husband called them to address the issue, they argued with him and said they would have to "investigate." After 4 days going by and they haven't removed the charge, we had to call our credit card company, who canceled our card and will dispute the charge. We were happy with the service they provided when we did live in Florida, but putting an unauthorized charge on someone's card is unacceptable, and arguing with them about it is a very bad idea. read more
