He told us that he has been in construction since he was a teenager and assured us that this addition could be completed in about three days. We actually thought he was the one who would be building the addition because he gave us that impression. We told him that we wanted it completed no later than the end of October. He assured us it would be done before that time. So, we signed the contract on 8/22/25 and paid 50% down of the total cost. He said the only delay would be waiting to get the windows, and then they could build the addition. Well, the windows came in late September. A project manager, a subcontractor, and Tommy came in the middle of October to review the plans for the addition. I asked if the addition could be completed within the next week and they just laughed at me like I was kidding. I told them that Tommy said it could be built in three days. The other two looked at Tommy in disbelief. From that point on there was nothing amusing about this experience. The foundation was poured on October 31st. Construction of the addition did not begin until November 12th, and the project was completed on November 22nd. We went through so much aggravation during those three months because Tommy outright lied about the timeline. There were many delays, excuses, misinformation, and broken promises. The subcontractor hired another crew to do the inside of the addition. The painting was not done correctly and needed an additional coat on the walls. The flooring was not laid properly and had to be redone. Several times we regretted dealing with this company. We would not recommend hiring them to build an addition. Three months ago, a piece of the siding fell off the addition because it was not done correctly. We fixed it ourselves.

Our project began the week of June 8. We were initially told the siding would take about a week to complete and that the windows would be installed in one day once they arrived. Unfortunately, that timeline was never met. Shortly after the siding project started, we were told the crew had run out of materials. From there, the project was delayed multiple times. The windows arrived, and I took time off work for the scheduled installation and then received a call the night before saying the crew wouldn't be coming. We were given several new installation dates, but each one came and went without anyone showing up. Throughout the process, communication was disappointing. We often had to repeatedly call for updates, many calls went unanswered or to voicemail, and we were frequently given conflicting information. It felt like we had to chase someone down just to find out what was happening with our own project. Due to the conflicting information given, they agreed to put siding at the top of the front porch, however they did not. I have holes in the walls in the inside of my home where they put the nails in the siding, when I brought this to their attention, they said there was nothing they could do about it, that that was a common issue. Before I agreed to go with this company I was told they had insurance for any issues they caused but was then told the holes in the walls were something they would not fix. In the end, Home Genius did complete the siding and window installation almost 2 months later. However, the weeks of delays, missed commitments, lack of communication, and the inconvenience of having an unfinished home, made what should have been an exciting home improvement project far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this company to do any siding or window work based on my experience. Update to previous review I came home this morning to my siding falling off of my home. I have reached out to several people including the project manager, the sales rep, the project managers manager and the 800 number to let them know. I am highly disappointed, it has not been 30 days since the project was complete, and my siding is coming down.

This was our first time using this company and our experience was terrible…read more When we dropped off our garage window to have pane replaced, John told us they could replace one pane of glass in the double pane window for $26. A week later when we stopped to see if it was done they had broken the other pane of glass trying to get broken glass out. On this day the lady working who had a terrible attitude and ran down every other employee that worked there stated it would now be $68 to fix, even though they broke the 2nd pane. She stated it would be another 7-10 days. So we go back in another week and it still isn't done, so we wait while the guy finishes it up. While we are waiting, we ask for an invoice and was told by the guy in the office who stated he just does the computer work that they don't do invoices. So we ask if we can pay while we wait, he states using a card? we ask how much our bill is and he replies I don't know. How can we pay if nobody knows what the total bill amount is? Ridiculous! We get home and one of the latches to lock the window with is broken off. They were both on when we took the window in. This business is poorly ran and no customer service or professionalism. WE will find another glass to do business with in the future.
