I was in this store just today and went in to simply buy some fresh shirts and ties. I knew what I wanted but had a simple question. There was one person trying on suits, nobody behind the counter and other than a few few employees coming and going out of the back, the store was empty. I stood around for 15 minutes, holding my items, standing by the counter. Nobody asked if I needed anything, nobody was there to check me out. I tried to get some attention, but nobody cared. I set down my 400 dollars in shirts and ties and left. I'm kind of disappointed. I guess I'll buy online from now on. read more

After visiting this Jos. A. Bank, I can confidently say that from now on I will be buying my formal clothing at Men's Wearhouse. The sad part is that I was really looking forward to visiting this store. It was Black Friday, I needed some new dress shirts, and Jos. A. Bank's "doorbuster" deals seemed too good to pass up. However, like other Yelpers, it was the customer service that truly ruined what could have been a great shopping experience. All the employees were incredibly snooty and seemed to turn up their noses at every question I posed. When it became clear that I was shopping on a budget and was thus only looking at their most affordable shirts, they seemed less willing to help, and what little warmth they had completely disappeared. The worst part, though, was that they shamed me when I wanted to try on a number of dress shirts in the dressing room. Each shirt was pinned to a cardboard backing and plastic supports to hold the shape of the shirt. Not only did the employees aggressively insist that they unpin each shirt, but they also condescendingly berated me for wanting to try on more than one shirt at once. One employee muttered under his breath that they don't want people trying on shirts they won't eventually buy. "It takes a lot of work to re-pin the shirts," he stated, "plus, it's unsanitary for multiple people to put on these shirts." Needless to say, I was insulted by the attitude of the employees. But what pushed me over the edge was the continued stares and glares after my dressing room "incident", prompting me to believe the store was worried I would cause further "commotion" in their tightly-controlled dressier shop. I left with no intention of ever coming back. Since then, I've visited a number of Men's Wearhouse stores where I was treated with respect and dignity, and -- what do you know -- I found myself far more open to buy shirts from them. Ironically, Men's Wearhouse recently bought Jos. A. Bank, so one can only hope the culture change comes with it. All said and done, do yourself a favor and pass up on Jos. A. Bank. read more

I went to 7 different stores looking for a suit. A couple were nice, and a couple were complete dicks. I went to Jos. A. Bank and Frank was there to greet me. It was honestly the nicest experience I've ever had at a store. He showed me all my options, had me try on everything in any size I wanted and he suggested. There was no rush to get me out of there, and was the nicest guy. I am extremely happy I kept trying and found Jos. A. Bank. If I ever need a suit, a pair of pants, or anything, I will always go back to Edina Jos. A. Bank. Thank you Frank! read more

I recently went to the jos a bank store on France Ave. Even though I selected two polos, the saleswoman acted like I was asking her to make an enormous effort. I chose the two in large, paid and left the store. When I got home, I immediately tried them on with pants I intended to wear with them. I decided that the polos were too big. I *immediately* left for the store to exchange them for medium. When I got there (not more than 30 min after I had left), I asked the same sales person to help me exchange them for medium. She smiled tightly and did as I asked, but when handing them to me asked: "You don't mind if I cut the tags out of them do you?". I kind of stumbled and said --"uh no". I did not realise until later that cutting the tags meant I could not return them for any reason. That really annoyed me. I will not be shopping there in my remaining lifetime. read more

I have been a customer of J.Banks for the past 10 years at Eden Prairie and now at the Edina, MN location. The staff have always been the most professional and respectful, always with great attention and sage advice. My most recent experience at Edina was handled by the on site manager David, giving the best service I have ever received. The quality of the custom ordered, made to specs, dress shirts far exceeds what Mens Warehouse has been offering. Those who give bad reviews seem to expect a Mc Donald's drive through service...typical low patience millennials. J Banks is for adults who expect quality. I couldn't be happier. read more

I had made arrangements online to rent/buy suits for my wedding. They initially told me they couldn't help me the day I had arranged via their online tool, because of prom. Then finally almost a month and a half later, they came back and offered a great deal at first for us to purchase the same suits for all of them for the same price. When we went in to try this on, they then told us that the suit was rental only! They didn't even seem to want to help us. The guy who had the suit for my fiance keep walking around the store (I think he might have been the only one working) and didn't help us at all. We left and went elsewere. Moral of the story: save yourself the time and hastle, don't go there! read more

I recently visited the Edina Jos A Bank store to purchase suits. I decided to try there because of their commercials regarding three suits for the price of one. I was pleasently surprised by the quality of the suits, the prices, the service, and the tailoring. They were not pushy, didn't try to upsell or sell shirts, ties, etc. The tailoring was perfect, they shipped the suits to Rochester at no charge. I wear suits every day (even though I hate them) and appreciated them listening to how I wear my pants. read more

Went there because I heard of the special $500 suits for $127 and $795 suits for $197 they also had a lot of $1000 suits for $795 . Well they have some nice stuff but the cheap stuff is cheap. They try to get you to buy the most expensive stuff in the store by telling you its only a little more then trying to mark it down. I would go to the Foursome or even Macy's before I would get a suit there again. The best part was the guy says to me, Everyone comes in saying they are going to lose a couple of pounds and then tells me to get a suit with fat man pants. They offer a new size to its called Portly why not just call them fat man suits =) and the kicker is my friend I went with wears big man suits and they didn't have any in his size 58 Reg is as high as they go. But I did get my plain black suit for a solid price, now I just have to get it altered some where else because they were 2 weeks out on any alterations. read more

Erik has always been helpful when I'm in and call to make sure he is available when I want to stop in. When he isn't available Peter has always been awesome too! The styles are classic, and fit many different types of guys. If the tailoring wasn't perfect the first time they were quick to fix it. I've found suits, pants and shirts in the store and also had them order items too. No one has ever been pushy, salesy or pretentious. If you appreciate clothing that isn't off the rack (they do have some of those items for those with the perfect builds) then they are worth checking you. read more

I would never buy from Jos A Bank. I stopped in there with the intent to buy a couple of suits for work. The only time I was approached, was when I was near a suit that had chalk marks on it. I was told not to touch it. I was the only one in the store and not one of the 4 sales people on the floor asked if they could help me. I went to Macy's and bought my 2 suits there. I've been shopping at the Centennial Lakes store for over 2 yrs. 1st the service. It is excellent. Regardless of how busy they are, they keep In touch, answer questions, and as soon as they're finished with a prior customer, bingo, they come find me and help me complete my shopping. While they never push their opinions on you, when you ask for help, they will give it to you. Except for new staff, they are all expert clothiers. The quality of their goods is outstanding, and when you take advantage of their incredible sales the normally good to reasonable prices are reduced to a pt. where I've sometimes wondered how they can afford it. Whew, getting longish here. 2 more brief pts. They have the most lenient return policy I've ever seen. Finally, their tailoring is excellent. read more

From the condescending tone of the sales staff to the dismissive attitude of the gentleman helping us, we were ready to buy and, instead, walked out. The three employees at this store were rude, uninterested and less than helpful. They literally seemed annoyed at my presence in their store (and I was the only customer there). When I walked in the greeter looked at me like I was an alien. When I asked them how long it would take to tailor a pair of pants they responded "well our tailor is out of town for a week." Thanks, but that doesn't answer my question...They then acted like it would be a burden to look up the timing for the tailor in their system. Needless to say I will not be back, and I will advise others to avoid this business. read more

Awful experience. Went to this location with my fiance looking for his suit for our wedding. The salesperson who helped us was a manager and was rude, condescending, and treated us as if we shouldn't be there. My mom has been a seamstress for 25+ years, and he tried to explain to her the difference between a suit and a tuxedo, demeaning and belittling her when she clearly understood the differences. Will not be returning and instead renting from the Roseville location for our wedding. read more

I am re-posting my review because I see yelp's absurd "filter" has not included my review in the store's general rating. That is ridiculous when it is an authentic and sincere review. I don't claim to understand what factors their automated software considers where sidelining such reviews, but I know it is a failure to the whole point of yelp if honest reviews are not be counted. Worst clothing experience ever. Friends wedding party rented the tuxes here. I was the only one to receive mine at this location - so I'll keep my comments to the Edina store, except to note that every single tux in the wedding party including the groom and the young boys were each seriously messed up. The manager of the Edina location is named Erik and he is a stoic unknowing and completely out of fashion touch nim rod. Aside from making me feel physically uncomfortable with an awkward personality he was rude, dismissive of and argumentative about the obvious. Here's one specific example - he tried to tell me the sleeves to the tux shirt were meant to stop half way up the forearm when I complained that the shirt was either miss measured or shrunk so bad it was worthless. His response was: "I didn't measure you! It's not my fault" and "I'm not familiar with these 'microfiber' material shirts." Seriously? You manage the dang store. And even if not - those responses are the absolute wrong way to handle the situation. He also tried to tell me that I needed to hike the pants up over my navel in order to counter act the "drop crotch" "Hammer pants" they provided. Absolutely absurd. I laughed in disgust and disbelief. The wedding party all swapped storied of what was wrong with each of their suits. From huge pants to jackets that were two sizes too big. I will never ever step foot in there again and in my opinion anyone who cares about a good fit for their wedding party should find somewhere else - somewhere where they get the importance of clothes looking good and feeling good with a proper fit. read more

I live in Iowa, but was heading to MN on Dec 31st 2014 for a short trip with my family. My husband needed suits, so thought we'd take advantage of the 'no tax' in MN and buy them there. I had a few questions regarding their sale, alterations, hours (since it was a Holiday), etc. I'm not sure who answered the phone, but he was incredibly rude. He didn't have time to answer my questions, was very short with me, AND as I was asking 1 more questions....he said, "Gotta go, bye!" ...and hung up the phone. Unbelievable. Due to his customer service (or lack there of) this location lost out on a pretty large purchase. Instead, we went to the Eden Prairie location and were treated exceptionally well by Bill Baldwin.
