We needed a break after our castle tour and came here specifically because burgers sounded great. The burgers were good although ours didn't look as HUGE as the photos, particularly the chicken. Nonetheless, burgers were tasty and the brioche was nice. The chicken burgers were a bit odd - they are ground chicken which was a bit of a surprise, we expected a solid chicken breast, even after viewing the photos. But they tasted good. Service staff was spotty. We had a waitress and then a male assistant (not really sure of his role). He was great. She, only ok. We were waiting patiently and noticed orders coming out for people seated after us. When we asked about it our waitress asked us "how long have you been waiting" and we advised 35 minutes. "Ok. I will check." The odd part is, she is the one that took our order, pretty sure she didn't have to ask us how long we were there. She passed us on every trip as we sat near the bar! This is an excellent place! Especially if you're looking for a light or heavy meal. We enjoyed their salads which were mouth watering!! We stumbled into this restaurant after a long day of wandering the city and enjoying beverages throughout. Be sure to continuing walking to the back of the restaurant as you'll experience a different feel of the restaurant. If you're looking for tap water this is definitely a place to try it. They gave us tap water with mint leaves and lime that was a delightful taste. Our server was outstanding. He was more than willing to help us make a decision. We were walking towards the Castle in Prague and were hungry and thirsty. Jo's is under the porticoes with a string of other bars and restaurants. Beautiful summer afternoon allowed us to sit outside. She ordered prosecco I ordered beer. The food menu is scrumptious and service is super friendly. Jo's bar is situated a few hundred meters from the Charles bridge in a cosy area filled with shops and restaurants. Jo's serve really good food and the menu is surprisingly big. The lentil soup and the brisket burger are my personal favourites but I can also recommend the chicken burger. But their fortè are most definately the drinks. They have an extensive selection that will suit almost anyone and they are really good at making them. My favourites are in the following order: Zombie, Jo's Illusion and the Whisky sour. All tested else where for comparison and Jo's are clearly among the best. If you like to kickstart your evening you can always try some B52's and Urugundus Happy dining and drinking folks! read more

Food was pretty good for the price, had the lamb shank and the steak which were nice. However, the chicken broth was cold and average and the tiger prawn pasta was not to my liking. One of the waiters was extremely rude, demanding to be tipped and was also constantly coughing into the food which was quite a turnoff. Don't get me wrong, authentic Prague cuisine is great but almost every restaurant serves the same stuff beef goulash, etc. So after a few days of that you need something different. Then we stumbled by Jo's a burger and cocktail joint sitting in the middle of a strip of places all serving the same food. Yes, it's right in the middle of tourist country right off the end of the Charles st bridge. But if you want an outstanding burger and a great cocktail this is the place to go. Prices are very reasonable. The burgers were better then most I've had in the states and the hand crafted cocktails were amazing. The bartender really knew what he was doing combining all kinds of flavors together in a drink that made my margarita one of the most unique and best tasting ones I've had. Service is excellent and the there were no issues with the orders when ordering in english which sometimes on some places you don't always get what you think you're ordering. If you're in Prague and need a burger, this is the place to go. read more

Delicious. A perfect stop after wandering around the castle all day. I had the pork tenderloin. So tender and juicy. The peppercorn sauce complemented it very well. My son had the brisket sandwich. Jo's Bar was the first recommend restaurant to visit on Yelp so we thought it had to be good. To look at the restaurant seemed basic and when we arrived it looked like nobody was there - we sat outside but I think there is a basement section which probably has more atmosphere. The service was friendly, we ordered a main from specials - beef and dumplings and roast rabbit and dumplings. The dumplings were odd - like undercooked slices of bread but perhaps this is authentic Czech food - who knows. We also got zucchini fry's which I would recommend, although we got them first as a starter and the waiter did not bring a plate so had to eat on napkins... I do not think this should be rated No. 1 place to eat - there are plenty of places which look nice off random streets and along the river which probably have better views and atmosphere- the beer was good though and the price reasonable but how Jo made it to top of the yelp list is a mystery. read more

Jo's is the only place I've seen in Prague that offers Tex-Mex fare. It's decent, but not terribly authentic if you're from the Southwest US or anywhere in Latin America, you're going to be disappointed. Still, it's an option if you need a break from Czech cuisine. The staff is very friendly; the barman was even kind enough to direct a friend of my away from the absinthe offering there and recommend some better alternatives. In addition to the usual Czech beer offerings, they also have wine and cocktails. read more

Excellent! Service was perfect and friendly. Anitta was our server. Food was exactly what we wanted. Not traditional Czech, but a tasty burger and my wife had a goat cheese salad which she loved. We passed this venue on our way to the castle. It caught our eye because of the clean design and reasonably priced card. The selection on the card was modest, but the food was of excellent quality. The staff was very friendly. The ambiance was fine, although nothing special. Although we didn't have any cocktails, the bartender showed skill and passion preparing cocktails suggesting they are of similar quality. read more

Pretty straight forward - I brought my family that includes four youngsters and we all got burgers. They had a few different ones on their list but you could also "build your own burger" so that was nice, too. This was my favorite place to eat in Prague and a nice change from the run-of-the-mill goulash and dumpling joints on every block of town. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is modern and cozy. It was hard to make a choice on what to order because everything looks great, but I ultimately settled with the braised lamb and potatoes (a steal for about 7€). It was great! Yes, they have a back room! This is the advertisement placed outside of Jo's bar, which is on the main street going up to Prague castle. In the summer, I imagine that it gets rammed and that people spill out onto the pavement outside, however at the end of January, we had our choice of seats in the 'front room' and didn't even have to venture out back. On to the drinks then. I ordered a cubra libre that was made with Bacardi instead of Havana rum and with lemon instead of lime. Despite this, it was quite tasty, though I did have a job to drink it through the ridiculously long straw they gave me. The music being played was an interesting mix of cheesy rock and electro pop. Somehow or other though, it seemed to work well and was befitting of the bar. The most distinctive thing about Jo's Bar is, without a doubt, the disturbing monochromatic mural they have painted along the wall opposite the bar. As wall art goes, this one's a humdinger. The painting depicts leering men about to slaughter a rabbit, giggling women who look to be ladies of the nights and lots of gnomes with their hands down each others' pants. It's almost like the painter had dropped some acid and got the smurfs and watership down all mixed up. read more

Decent hamburger, French fries, and Czech beer on tap. The onion chutney, and chipotle mayo were tasty although a bit excessive on the mayo. My daughter ordered her burger with a fried egg which was over cooked, yolk was not runny. I didn't find the meat used to be of the best quality. Absolutely brilliant veggie burger! - the Beetroot one. And the atmosphere of the place is quite charming.

The location is very good - just on the lesser town side of the Charles Bridge and so a little away from the craziness of old town. We had the pork cheeks with dumplings and the goat cheese / pear / fig salad. The pork cheeks were excellent and the dumplings were also good as a way to collect more of the sauce and get it into your system. The salad was also great and it was an unbelievably generous portion of cheese - basically like a small wheel of Brie. And it was the best goat cheese I've ever had (I think they may slightly grill it first). As a side we got more potatoes - baked with garlic and rosemary. They were perfect. Thinly sliced potatoes in a lasagna type serving with plenty of garlic and the taste was incredible. We had the beer special which was a semi dark offer. It was a good break from much of the lighter pilsners that are normally offered around the area. The bill came to less than $27 which included a 10% tip. read more

Burger was good and they let us order late as the kitchen was closing. Service was also very good. Deducting a star because the server scanned my credit card and said that the transaction didn't go through. I believed him and paid him cash. I discovered that the credit card transaction did , in fact, go through later on and returned the next day where they cheerfully refunded the money and apologized profusely. Something smelled a little funny to me on this - could have been a mistake but I am not 100% convinced. Again , food and service were great - just use cash and no worries. read more
