My wife Kelley and I had the absolute privilege of having Mary shoot our engagement and wedding day…read morephotos. We got engaged back in March 2021, and knowing that it was going to be pretty chaotic competing with other newly-engaged couples and those rescheduling their weddings to book vendors, we began all of our searching immediately. But it took almost no time to decide on Mary as soon as we saw her portfolio--her aesthetic is bold, bright, and beautiful, and eschews a somewhat Wes Anderson-y vibe that spoke directly to us and the look we had begun to envision. After reaching out to Mary to express our interest and to confirm her availability for our July 2022 wedding date, we connected via Facetime about a week or two later to hash out more details and frankly just to get to know each other better. We hit it off immediately--she was so personable, charming, and already super knowledgeable about our wedding venue, which was a wonderful added bonus. We couldn't sign the contract and send our deposit fast enough after the call had ended! In the months that followed our excitement only grew with every new post we would see her add on Instagram of her latest shoot that she did for lucky couple after lucky couple, week after week. After months of anticipation we were finally approaching time to schedule our engagement shoot. We had a few ideas, preferably against a mural or on the beach, and Mary not only offered some recommendations but suggested that we could do *both*, and put together an itinerary to make it happen that would accommodate us dropping off our dog after the first location, and a wardrobe change for the second. She was so amazing to work with, made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera, and extracted out of us the pure joy that my wife and I feel when we are with each other, and was able to perfectly capture that in every photo that she took. Despite her overwhelmingly busy schedule she was still able to get us the full session & a plethora of impeccably edited selects to us in the promised timeline of 6 weeks. On the big day we were seamlessly guided from spot to spot at our venue by Mary and her assistant to take care of all of the shots from our predetermined shot list, plus any additional photos we wanted taken, like extra pics with our family, as well as me hanging out in the parlor pre-ceremony with some of my closest friends. Mary also basically served as an extra coordinator, keeping us on schedule and also allowing us to have the space and time we needed for ourselves at certain points throughout the night. She provided previews of our photos only a week and a half (!) later, and they are amazing...it truly is unbelievable how present she was for our biggest moments while at the same time blending into the background to let the whole night unfold organically and not having it look or feel staged or forced in any way. We're so deeply grateful and appreciative of how talented Mary is, and how thoughtful she was during our whole journey, and we can't wait to see the full set of pics from our wedding. Her passion for what she does truly shows through all of her work, and having anyone else in our corner during the most important times of our lives would have been a massive mistake. The Zatonsky Team was a blessing to have at our Wedding. I think I came across Mikhail and Kate's profile by pure luck to be honest, I saw their work, wasn't sure if I could afford it, but I took a chance and reached out. I was responded to immediately, and they set up a day where we could go on a video call. The day of the call, I was greeted with such kindness and they asked about what my vision was, what was important to me, and wanted to get to know me and my future husband. I remember feeling so relieved, and so secure after getting to speak to them, I knew I was in good hands. Everything from then on was at my pace, it was effortless, they worked with my budget, they worked around my theme, they were like a group of friends that were in the trenches with you while you were planning everything for the big day. And that meant so much to me. The day of wedding comes, and I will be honest, I was not too confident in my physical appearance at the time, but Kate and Mikhail and their team made me feel like I was the most beautiful bride in the world, and that helped me so much that day, I will always remember that feeling. Having their team at the wedding, was like having family there, family that cared so much that you have the best day possible because they care. We had so much fun with them and honestly, we had to give them all such big hugs after everything was over, because we had so much love and gratitude for them. They were like family to us. Now for the process, we got our sneak peeks of the photos within a few days while on our honeymoon and honestly, we were swooning at the incredible photos. Their work was impeccable. We received our wedding videos a week later. The wedding was beautiful, but it's true what they say, it goes by so quickly that once it's over you want to do it all over again. But that's why having the Zatonsky Group on our team was such a blessing. Immediately, once we received our videos, my husband and I felt exactly how we felt the day of the wedding, we felt all the love, all the joy, every emotion we felt that day all over again. I really had my eyes set on this couple for my wedding photography since March 2020. Unfortunately once I did call them, they did not have my date available. I was bummed but I understood, so we went with another photographer and locked her in. Fast-forward to one year since the COVID closure and my date has been moved twice. This last time that it has been moved, it has been moved to 2022. My photographer could no longer attend on the date we chose so sadly we had to cancel our contract. I immediately told my fiancé that I wanted The Olive Bungalow. He completely agreed, they were our first choice after all. I contacted them through the "inquire" section of their page and it took maybe a week or two to get back to me. In my opinion that is a very long time. We understand that they might be busy but a week or two to just let me know whether that date was available seems a bit much. We know that many photographers and videographers are probably very limited for 2022 due to couples changing their wedding date. This is why I think there should be a faster response time so that couples can move on if they are not available. Finally a response, no, they are not available. I then replied asking what dates they did have available for that month and no response, AGAIN. I then went on their website and once again filled out the "inquire" part of their page. Again, no response for about a week. I was told in a generated response that they did not have that date available and thanked me for considering them and done. I was asking for other dates because my fiancé and I were willing to even change our date around what best suited them. I tried calling the number and left a voicemail and no one to this date has called me back. That was almost a month ago. We finally set a new date, done and sealed with the venue. I decided to give them one last try. AGAIN, I filled out the "inquire" section of their page, we are now five days in and no response. At this point I DON'T EVEN CARE!!! I have been patient and nice but I am now frustrated. I email and responses don't come through. I go about the inquire section and response takes forever. I call and no one calls back. I really had high hopes because their work looks amazing. They WERE my dream photographers. We will begin looking elsewhere. Where our business DOES matter. But I can say, if you are one of the lucky one that get a response quickly and your date is available, book them. I can't deny that their work is simply amazing. My ONE STAR review is based on their customer service when inquiring about availability.
