TLDR: Very Bizarre Experience that left a very negative impact on my son and me. My son had a freak accident and fell, hurt his right foot. Went to CityMD... they did X-rays, told us it's a "small bone fracture". Referred us to a podiatrist - Deloor Podiatry. Went literally 3 days later and we saw Dr. Francis. She was amazing with my son. She told him "his season was over" but at least he didn't need a cast. She advised us to take care of it, elevate the injured foot, ice daily to reduce swelling, don't put weight on it, wear the boot. Her diagnosis - "the fracture will heal by itself, in about 4-5 weeks. Gave him a script for ibuprofen." And to get new x-rays and return in 2 weeks. We left assured and informed. Then it went downhill. A week went by, the office called telling me we have an appointment to see Dr. Jose Loor... and that we needed to come in right away. I let the office know - my son didn't get his x-rays done yet and it hasn't been 2 weeks! What is going on? And what happened to Dr. Francis?!! The receptionist simply says: "oh, no you are to see Dr. Loor now. Dr. Francis is not here anymore." WHAT?! Ok, it will be fine. They have my son's details and file. After we got the new x-rays done at Lenox Hill Radiology, we made the appt to go back to see Dr. Loor. Checked in. Paid a $30 co-pay. Met Dr. Loor, he examined my son's injured foot. Proceeds to ask "how did you injured your foot? Where is the pain?" Then he says "He needs surgery to remove the small piece of bone fragment." And a slew of details about what needs to happen, get his PCP to clear him for surgery, right away. This Saturday is open". I asked - "what about the new X-rays? Does it show the foot has worsen?". He then went to check the X-rays. Continues to tell us "surgery is the best option and we should get it done ASAP. Otherwise he will be in a hard cast for 12 weeks." I was dizzy from the fast pace sales pitch for surgery. Before we left, he made the receptionist scheduled us back in 2 days. (She even questioned him... in 2 days?). I took the referral note for my son's PCP. Full stop. I asked my son's PCP, does he need surgery? She recommended a 2nd opinion. We did. 2nd opinion says "he's 17, it's mending by itself. Give it 2-3 weeks and use the boot." Never looked back. Please parents - do what's best for your child. Due diligence check and go with your gut. My gut told me - "don't jump to surgery, not everything the doctor says is gospel. Surgeons always like to CUT. But not always the only option". PSA: I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this but I received numerous calls from multiple "different" individuals working for this podiatry office - constant hounding for me to schedule the surgery. Even after I said "No. We are not moving forward with surgery and will be getting a 2nd opinion." - 3 different people called me. Then Dr. Loor called me to confirm surgery. He tells me "Dr. Francis is not a surgeon, she wouldn't know what to recommend."Just WOW. Threw his own colleague under the bus. Either (1) they don't connect with each other or (2) it's a high pressure sales tactic to ensure you go through with surgery. Please check your insurance activity! Good luck. read more

What a sketchy place this is. I was being treated for a wart on the sole of my foot and kept coming back for months with no progress. Then one day during the session, Dr Jose Loor randomly tells me to take my skirt off because... that's necessary for treating the bottom of my foot?. Some pretext about measuring the length of my legs? Maybe he realized how sketchy he'd been, because a couple weeks after that he finally decided to switch to a treatment that actually fixed the issue (?!). After months! I came last year after visiting CityMD to confirm my fractured left big toe. Dr. Roy was my doctor and he was super friendly and informative! He also scheduled for my procedure quickly after gathering all lab tests and informations needed. The procedure was a success and every follow up appointment was great. Fast forward to almost a full year since i fractured my big toe, i got an ingrown toenail on the exact same big toe and booked an appointment with Dr. Roy quickly. He helped out with my the partial nail avulsion and now my toe feels great! read more

My daughter and I saw Dr. Jose Loor in 2019. They took our insurance info, we paid the co-pay and left. Fast forward 4 years - his office is hounding us to pay them over $500, but they will give us a discount to pay cash. My daughter is a teen but they hunted down her info and are threatening to ruin her credit. FWIW I alerted my insurance provider and am filling a BBB notice as well. So if you choose this podiatry practice know that they are pulling this scam on a lot of people. read more

I came to the office and had a very positive experience! Doctor Lakhani is competent, honest, caring and smart. He has provided me with several choices for fungus treatment, such as laser and nail polish. He was very gentle. Even after the second procedure I already see difference. I visited earlier this year, and still felt the need to write this review months later, hoping that it can change someone's mind. They try to get your money any way possible. Why would they try to bill my insurance when I went in with a Groupon deal, for laser nail treatment and consultation, which covered all that I needed? Why did I get a phone call two months later from a pharmacy telling me to pick up (random) prescription by Dr. Deloor, who was not the doctor I had seen? Why was I notified about an upcoming appointment scheduled later in the week that I did not schedule? And then, when I called the office, why was the receptionist only able to explain that the system automatically schedules the appointment? Where does my information go? Because in the weeks following my visit, I was suddenly getting random texts from unidentified numbers with suspicious links. I gave this place a try because of the Groupon deal, and still regretting that decision. Please don't put yourself through this. read more

If I could give a 0 star, I would. I went in to get rid of my wart. Dr. Bahri used a spray for freezing the wart. Not only did he spray the wart, he sprayed the healthy tissue all around my foot! Now I have a 1st degree burn all around my heel. It is red and painful to touch. I requested a refund for his mistake but was declined. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Careless mistake and very unprofessional. Please use the freezing equipment carefully. read more

Dr. Loor and Dr. Roy are EXCELLENT doctors who really care. I was very pleased with my experience with both doctors. They're very knowledgeable, compassionate, and plan to continuously help me with my nail fungal infection is completely gone. Although I was really embarrassed to show my feet, they truly made me feel comfortable and calm. This location is very clean and on the 2nd floor. Also, the receptionist is very friendly and courteous. In addition, it was very easy to get an appointment. Here's a photo 1st day before and after laser treatment. I think shiesty would be the best word to describe this practice. Two problems: one had to do with them not being an in network provider even though I had specifically asked prior to scheduling and the other was that the doctor was really pressuring to get a procedure done and really pressured for a follow up appointment. I had called to make an appointment for my husband. I specified that I wanted at Dr. at the Bay Parkway location that is a in network provider with my insurance. The person scheduled my husband with Dr. Bahri. Once my husband checked in he was asked to pay his usual copay for an in network provider. No mention that Dr. Bahri was not an in network provider. During the initial appointment an x-ray was taken and then an MRI was performed at a local radiology facility. After the MRI was done it was clear that there was no major issue but Dr. Bahri kept texting me and calling my husband for a follow up appointment. The doctor himself was doing all this follow up. Doesn't he have patients to see? He was relentless and finally I made a follow up appointment. Again at the follow up appointment they collected the usual copay and no mention that Dr. Bahri was not in network. During the follow up appointment there was pressure to do one of two kinds of procedures. My husband was even told that after the procedure he would get "complementary insoles" as if that would be the deciding factor to get the procedure done when the issue wasn't anything major. After a few weeks I found out from my insurance company that Dr. Bahri was not an in network provider. I called the phone number I called previously when I made the initial appointment and asked if Dr. Bahri was in network or not and she didn't know. She had to call my insurance company. She then called me back and I asked how they could have told me he was in network and then when my husband got to both appointments he was charged a copay as if the doctor was in network. I was told that the people who make appointments and the receptionists do not know what insurances the doctors participate in. Only the people in the billing department know. WTF?? Every doctor's office I ever called plus their front desk people know about insurances. read more
