I was having some issues I won't get into plus family history that made me finally face the music. I'm writing this review to let you know if you're the age for a colonoscopy or soon to be the age, DO NOT STRESS OVER THIS!!!!!! THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! From start to finish it was simple and honestly no big deal. I have a PPO and can go anywhere I want but my doctor referred me to Dr. Duke Nguyen since he's located in the same Memorial Care center he is. Figured easy enough. The staff at Orange County Digestive Care (located 3rd floor Memorial Care Building) was super friendly and always answered the phone quickly so I'd go back and recommend them. I made my appointment and they got me in the day after Xmas for my initial appointment which was a few days after I called. I met with Kimberly A. Pinckney, PA-C. She was so friendly I didn't hesitate to answer all the embarrassing questions about pooping habits. After talking about issues and answering questions I met with another lady who scheduled me for 3/7/24 and went over the prep. Initially I was happy it was 3 months to wait but I stressed really bad for 3 months. Again, DO NOT STRESS LIKE I DID! DO NOT STRESS! Fast forward 3 months. Week of your appointment I highly recommend eating low fiber foods and easy to digest bland foods. Stay away from beef, raw veggies, seeds, nuts, and high fiber stuff. Day before the appointment all you can have is clear liquid. I was surprised I didn't get hungry at all but I think my low calorie week of bland foods helped prepare my stomach. I also drank tons of water all day. Luckily my insurance paid for the split dose "suprep" which is two liquid 6 ounce bottles you mix with 16 ounces of water. 6pm night before my adventure started. My wife told me how horrible the prep tastes but I thought it tasted sort of like Tamarindo candy. Salty, sour, and sweet so I kind of liked it. I drank down the mixture followed by 32 ounces of water as instructed. 1.5 hours went by and I was questioning if my dosage was defective. Then for the next 3 to 4 hours my body turned into a what I can only describe as a fecal water cannon. What came out of me defied logic. The good thing is there's zero stomach aches or urgency. I assumed it was going to be like food poisoning but your body is just filling up with water and blasting your pipes clean. I had no issues getting to the bathroom, no running needed. Also you get breaks between visits so it's not non stop. I highly recommend you have wet wipes since you'll be wiping A LOT and cleaning supplies because you will utterly obliterate your toilet bowl. Next morning at 4am was round two. I didn't enjoy the flavor this time since I knew what was in store. Round two kicked in about 15 minutes. Since there was not much left it was just endless water blasting until I was sparkling clean. So yea..... going to the bathroom over and over and over gets tiring but just know you're not going to feel sick or anything. You're just going to be turned into a human water cannon and if you're like me texting jokes to your friends about it. They also time it and cut off your drinking time so you'll be fine when it's time to leave for your appointment. Day of the procedure WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Every single employee at Memorial Care were so friendly I was at ease the whole time and honestly ready to get it over with. I arrived, put on my bare assed gown, and got into bed. I've never had an IV before so was worried about that but it felt no different than getting my blood drawn so that was another example of stressing for nothing. Dr. Nguyen quickly went over what's going to happen, anesthesiologist gave his speech, and I was wheeled into the room. Literally it went like this: Propofol which looks like milk was injected into the tube going to my IV and the guy said "This might feel cold". I watched it hit my hand and I said "I don't feel anything.....". Next thing I know I hear "are you awake?" which I reply to "huh?". Then I'm told I'm done. It's over. It's like a light switch was flipped off and on and it was over. Crazy stuff. Dr. Nguyen then let me know he took out one polyp and the issue I went in for was nothing to worry about. Even got color photos of my innards to look at. Two weeks later I was told my polyp was not cancerous but because of the size of it I'll have to return in 5 years. Good thing is I know not to stress over it. This was easy. Get it done. You have nothing to worry about. I convinced my co-worker who was 5 years past due and he had his last week. He said it was easy too and we traded humorous toilet stories. GET YOUR COLONSCOPY DONE! DO NOT STRESS ABOUT IT! DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! IT'S AN EASY EXPERIENCE!

They recommended labs I already had done, and another ultrasound I just had a few months ago which is the reason I went in. They refused to send me for further testing. My primary care had to order an MRI. I told them I don't want to do a colonoscopy because I wake up during all my surgeries and I don't want to take the risk, why not a ct scan or mri. They ignore. My ultrasound showed gallstones which they said they treat, and the report showed very little information, but they refused to look at the images and told me its all fine. When calling and asking if they handle the specific problem I know I have, instead of answering they just tell me to get a colonoscopy! Just wow. terrible.

Extremely Poor Experience - Would Not Recommend…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Farhadi. From the beginning of the appointment, I explained that I've had chronic constipation for years--at times manageable with occasional laxatives, but recently worsening to the point where I now rely on them weekly, with decreasing effectiveness. Instead of offering a thoughtful or compassionate approach to explore possible root causes, Dr. Farhadi spent the majority of the visit explaining why my current efforts--such as hydration and dietary changes--would not help, without providing meaningful alternatives. It felt dismissive and unproductive. He performed a rectal exam without explaining what it would involve beforehand. As a healthcare provider myself, I understood what to expect, but it was concerning that he didn't walk me through the procedure. I can only imagine how distressing that would be for someone without medical knowledge, as it is a very personal and invasive assessment. After the exam, he abruptly left the room, offering no time for me to ask questions or discuss anything further. He ordered an abdominal X-ray, which he explained to me showed no major blockage but only showed stool buildup which he told me would explain my discomfort. I thought this was somewhat silly that I could have easily told him, as that was the entire reason I sought his help. His follow-up message recommended Miralax and attempting to use the restroom at scheduled times. When I reminded him that I came to his office because I'd already been relying on laxatives and wanted to find a root cause to avoid long-term dependence, he simply replied that most cases of constipation are idiopathic. This felt once again like more negligent care. While some cases may be idiopathic, reaching that conclusion after a single static image and no further testing (e.g., for motility issues, SIBO, microbiome imbalance, or inflammation) is not thorough care. Overall, Dr. Farhadi showed poor bedside manner, left no time for patient conversation, and took a superficial approach to a complex issue. I would not recommend him to anyone seeking thoughtful or investigative gastrointestinal care.

He told me insurance nowadays don't want the patient to get it done at the same time and the facility with charge $150 fee. He said they want to be paid more so it is encouraged to do them separately. This means I will be put under anesthesia twice separately. I called the insurance and I call the facility. Neither of them said that was a thing. In the end it was the doctor who wanted more money. No wonder he kept breaking eye contact and looking down when he was telling me this. HOWEVER, be aware that United Medical Doctors to which Dr. Argueta's office belongs, has horrible customer service and their billing system is one of the worst I've had to deal with. Instead of mailing a traditional bill to your mailing address (they DO have that), they text your phone and send an e-mail, both of which send you to their patient portal where there is NO "Pay Now" button nor can you access the invoice they should have mailed to you (then why direct me to that web page?) It is "locked" so you can only see the amount you owe. The web page directs you to a phone number where you are ultimately told you can't pay over the phone (then why give me the phone number?) and it point you to ANOTHER web page where there's finally a pay link. It takes you to a basic "fill in the credit card info" page where you can finally pay the bill. Way harder than it should have been. I still don't have an invoice for my records, only a confirmation that I paid an amount via my credit card. Will it be applied to my account? I don't know. I should add this was a bill for an office visit in May 2024 and they did not notify me I owed anything until June, 2025, over a year later! So, Dr. Argueta is great but the United Medical Doctors' web pages and payment system are horrible. It started off well. I had a consultation appointment. I then had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy,…read moreon October 1, 2025. I went to the follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I was told I had Pylori. A stomach infection. He prescribed three medications. I deliberately reminded the doctor I take Methotrexate. Many medications do not interact well with Methotrexate. He said it was fine. I picked up the three medications the next morning. The pharmacist said I should not take these medications. I told her the doctor said it was fine. I should have listened to her. I had lunch and took one of each pill. By 4.00pm, I thought I was going to die. My heart was racing, sweating, shaking, severe nausea. Dry heaves. I'm a widow, and there's usually no one here at that time of day. By a miracle I had a friend here that day. He wanted to call the paramedics. He got me water, and sat me down in my hay barn, as I couldn't stand up. I was terrified. I drank a bottle of water. He managed to drag me to my house and by 4.30pm, I was in bed. I'm diabetic. I had no dinner, and took no meds. I've never felt so bad in my life and I'm 77 years old. I kept drinking water to flush the meds, most of the night. I called Dr Shen at 9.00am the next morning. The person I spoke to, said she would send a message to the doctor. That was 2 weeks ago. I never took another pill. I spoke to my GP, who said not to take them. Dr Shen, or anyone from his office, never called me until yesterday. October 28, 2025. I had already made an appointment with my previous gastroenterologist whom I should have gone to in the first place. I went to Dr Shen as he was local, and I could avoid the drive to Orange County. Big mistake. It wasn't even him calling, but someone in his office. I told her I wasn't interested in anything they had to say, as they abandoned me two weeks ago. I'm disgusted with the lack of compassion or any communication. I was just a number on their conveyor belt. I'll never go back there. I have all the reports which I will give to my original gastroenterologist and move on.

That is a HUGE RED FLAG. It shows that not only are they unapologetically uneducated, but are shamelessly aggressive about it as well. The front desk is responsible for telling me if they're in network. Her response was ABSOLUTELY and REPREHENSIBLY SHOCKING. So I called billing and they told me that they were in network with Anthem Blue Cross. So I guess the front desk is careless and uninformed, but I will not be responsible for a bill due to the lack of consideration and education of the front desk. I will be filing numerous complaints.   Also, they didn't even bother to change the address or their new name on their Yelp page even though they moved from Fountain Valley to Huntington Beach. I will never come back to this office again and I should have never made an appointment. What a disorganized and careless office this is.
