This review is for Dr. Lilly Bates. I am currently admitted to North Central Baptist hospital for…read moresyncope and convulsions ( possible seizure). I have been here for about 38 hrs and I have missed 6-8 doses of my cardiac medication. Of course I have spoken to every doctor and nurse here who will listen but, they all say.. "ok, yeah we'll get it," and then they don't. I am Autistic and needed helped advocating for myself and I called my cardiologist office. Lilly Bates is not one of my doctors however, she's the one on call. She answered and quickly became very very frustrated. She kept insisting that I talk to the nurses and doctors here. I told her I already did and she continued to talk over me. She kept insisting for me to talk to my doctor here, and I said how, how how? (Because she just kept going and going) I don't usually like to talk about peoples tone, because I know that my tone can be very monotonous, being autistic, but she was raising her voice, and it sounded like she was angry with me. And I told her "it sounds like you're angry with me" I just need help because the doctor here, she doesn't come. Also, when I did talk to her it is kind of going like this conversation with you is going, she's not listening to me. She sighed and said she is listening to me and then suddenly mysteriously we got disconnected. I called back of course and again she was frustrated. Said that I need to talk to my doctors here and that That's what the doctors here at the hospital are for ( that seems obvious to me so, is she being sarcastic, mean? I don't know) she said if they have questions they will call my Cardiologist. Again I told her, Yes of course that's what I did but it's not working. I need your help. I don't know what else to do. At This point I was in tears feeling horrible and I was saying please help me, it's going to cause me to go into a terrible flair up. She said I'm gonna go now and just hung up.

He has helped give me quality of life back, and peace of mind when I need it. He did a beautiful incision and even took the time to line my tattoo back up the best he could. It looks great!! The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic. If you have an urgent matter, they are usually able to get you in quickly. Thank you so much for being one of the great doctors here in San Antonio and for all you do!

Well I'll leave this as short as possible but please stay away from this guy if you have long…read moreCovid. I'd recommend staying away period just because of the way I was treated but maybe he will not treat you the same. I have been suffering from some crazy difficult episodes ever since I got sick with Covid. This so called Dr. Has called me crazy, said I should be in a psych ward with the way I look when I have episodes and has said I'm acting like I'm on drugs all while I've been trusting him to help me through this horrible time in my life. There are several other things with his office and you expect to wait hours because he's with each patient for a long time and at first I appreciated that but with the fact that I'm supposed to trust this guy to help me and all the name calling & assumptions with a 2-3 wait time to be seen it's just not worth it. He sticks to what he thinks he knows, he's very close minded and while he listens to you, if it doesn't line up with his experiences then you're "on drugs" when your heart races or when you're shaking from these weird episodes he tells you "You look like you should be in a psych ward and to calm down" and then he'll over talk you when you try to explain what's happening and it goes against "his knowledge". He will not believe you and he'll get defensive when explain things. He also tried to tell me my heart rate went to 108 when I wore a monitor for 1 week when it went to 170 the day I walked out of his office with it on and then there were several other episodes of that as well so who knows if it was faulty or even my results but I was never able to get to the bottom of it because he was never willing to listen after the first visit. This guy needs to take a step back and remember why he became a doctor but to me it's just for the money so he can tell patients what he learned in school and then treat you like you're a crazy person when you try to get the help you so desperately need. I let him finish his work up on me because it felt like the right thing to do but I fully regret it and wish I would have gone elsewhere after the first time he stopped listening and started treating me poorly. The people that are suffering from long Covid are going through enough, we don't need "help" from some guy with a few degrees degrading us in the process. I regret trusting him to look at my heart, here is the texts where after I had an ep study fully under that I came home and had an episode that was insanely scary and his response to me was I'm acting like I'm on drugs as I was suffering from affects of all the medications given for the procedure that I explained previously makes these things happen. He clearly doesn't listen or care. Avoid him and find a doctor willing to help, heart troubles are scary enough. I pray he finds himself asking for redirection because the next person may not be as mentally strong as I am.

She was refused service for arriving TWO minutes past "cut-off" time, despite having attempted to call and notify the office multiple times that she would be late due to unexpected construction/traffic (she was only able to leave a message, which they ignored). The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. There was only one family in the waiting room. DO NOT see this practice if you are looking for a professional, caring medical staff. My mother has lived in San Antonio for 31 years and has never experienced this kind of a horrific experience. I am praying that she gets the medical help she needs, since now she can't find anybody who will see her before the New Year. What a travesty and a disgrace. Beware.
