The city of Nashville banned any future development in floodzones, and the city and the taxpayers purchased over 60 properties affected in this area alone. This park was named after Martha and Andy England, an elderly couple who drowned in their home during the flood. The project was especially successful thanks to the folks at make-a-smile.org who built the playgrounds. The park has a beautifully paved walkway, a small playground, and some picnic tables. It runs concurrent with Richland Creek.

Situated on Morrow Road and running parralel to Briley Parkway, West Park is a smaller park featuring two large fields, one in a baseball diamond and the other a large multi-purpose fields, a community center, covered patio/picnic area with restrooms, playgrounds and a 1.1 mile walking trail, the Richland Creek Greenway, that runs alongside the creek and essentially creates a circle around the park. I popped by the walking/jogging trail, which at 1.1 miles takes you around the full park including by the water treatment facility. The trail does get a bit disconnected near the water treatment facility where you have to cross the road and either utilize the sidewalk or the rock path to reconnect and complete the full circle. Parking is in two separate lots that do not connect. The one behind the softball/baseball field is a tad smaller than the other and it fills up rather quickly. The park was well taken care, in good repair and a good spot for getting outdoors for a walk, run or game of some sorts. The location alongside the water facility is a bit odd, but it adds a bit of character. Overall, solid park!

My dog has had the best time getting to run around and play, and the staff here are incredible at keeping the dogs safe and the ground clean. My dog and I have both enjoyed some snacks/drinks here. Her favorite has been the pumpkin pup cup, and I love their cranberry marg. Their pretzel sticks were also quite delicious! Perfectly crispy with just the right amount of salt and butter on top. Honeybun and I will definitely be using our month membership to the fullest!

You never know when there will be free hot cocoa or pumpkin painting in the park to celebrate a holiday or even a Netflix pop-up event with a famed comedian. For both the special events and the day-to-day, Noble Park is a great outdoor space to visit - with plenty of seating options around the park, and aesthetic water wall, and nearby street and garage parking options (many garages offering an hour free).

Overall though, it was still a lovely place to explore while in Nashville!

It was purchased in 1934. It currently has 46 acres, a community center, a library, public restrooms, baseball fields, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. It was originally one of the many mineral water springs in the city. Buena Vista has had many festivals and programs- including horse races in the 1940s. None of this history was incorporated. There aren't any paved paths. The park itself just hasn't had much attention in quite some time. The playground is close to the street, but gated off, which is a nice touch.

I really like to play tennis here because it is never crowded and it is a really short drive. Also, they have big flood lights at the tennis court so you can play long after dark. There is not much else to say about it, but they have lights, and you can play tennis near downtown for free!

Metrocenter Levee Trailhead is one of the more basic entry points to the greenway, featuring a…read moresmall parking lot with a few benches and a staircase up to the greenway located at the end of Great Circle Road. When you enter the greenway, you can head towards nearby Ted Rhodes Golf Course via the TSU connector or towards Germantown and eventually the city. The greenway is rapidly growing and this entry point, while light on amenities, is a simple access point that puts you close to one end of the Cumberland Greenway. This greenway in full runs just over 8 miles and this access point will put you at about the 6/7 mile mark, if you were headed towards the city. For what I needed, which was a solid spot to hop on the greenway, the Levee Trailhead came in clutch. Parking, while available, is limited with only about 8 - 10 spots available. I would definitely recommend parking at the golf course, which offers a bit more in terms of parking. Overall, solid trailhead.

It is named after Clinton Bowen Fisk, also the namesake of Fisk University, a government official during Reconstruction who endowed $30,000 to Fisk University to educated former slaves. It was originally called "North Fisk Park". The name then evolved to "Fisk Park". It then evolved to it's current day formal "Clinton B. Fisk Park". It's a really cool park for three reasons: 1) There's not a lot of overhanging greenery or obstructed views. Neighbors can see the whole park from their kitchen windows, and parents can see everything from the picnic tables at the center of the park. 2) The outside perimeter of the park has a paved walking/jogging path with intermittent fitness stops. There are bars and instructive stretches and fitness exercises. 3) The back border of the park lines against train tracks!

Bordeaux Gardens Park was established in 1964, and has 12.26 acres. It has a playground, picnic…read moreshelters, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a paved walking/jogging path. This park is not the most welcoming- there's no parking, a fence around the perimeter, and many warning signs advising of the "no drug" and "no weapon" policy. The land itself is 12.7 acres, and was originally owned by the County Hospital. The people of Bordeaux at a council meeting requested the land to be a park, so the County Hospital leased the land to the Park Board in 1964. The park itself is pretty- it underwent a beautification project in 2010. The neighborhood doesn't seem to have a high crime rate, and the neighborhood association is ran by a group of strong retirees. I'm unsure why the park is so hostile.
