Everyone was super polite and positive. The Godly atmosphere and family oriented staff are great! I even heard one nurse correct another for cussing. The food wasn't too bad, Morrison Food Group could do to visit and check it out, but otherwise it was alright.

After being taken back was told by NP Laura that "unless your labs show evidence of end-stage organ (i.e. liver, kidney) damage" your BP is NOT an emergency and we will not be addressing or treating it at all in the ER. You need to see a primary care doctor to add ANOTHER BP Rx to control this, all we will do is a chest x-ray to rule out emergenct causes of the syncope and labs to see if you have organ damage but we will not be treating your blood pressure because it is NOT an emergency. I was flabbergasted and began removing the chest leads so I could go somewhere that would treat me, hopefully before I had a stroke, and NP Laura says panickedly to the nurse "make sure you document this." As I'm walking out of the room the nurse tries to stop me saying "you need to sign this" and I told her I would not be signing anything. I went immediately to a doctor's office down the road for a prescription of the necessary BP medicine as I was told to do by this unhinged "nurse practitioner" (never did see a doctor) where, after having my BP taken I was told I could not be treated there because my BP WAS HIGH ENOUGH TO CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY and that an ambulance was being called to take me to Grandview! I told them what happened and they were stunned, as were the paramedics - I was finally taken to a different ED where I was treated with no issue, costing me an enormous amount of money and time during which I could very well have had a stroke. STEER CLEAR OF GRANDVIEW! I'm not really sure what business they are in but it sure as hell isn't medicine!

However, due to a change in insurance, provider changing from one month to the next, I asked if I could self-pay for my initial visit. I offered to pay the full price office visit up front and well before my appointment but was refused and told I could no longer be seen. Unfortunately, this is a prime example of the complete lack of care in regards to mental health in the United States and why most who struggle with it, choose to do so alone because even the majority of doctors who "care" still see money for before they see anything else. It's speaks volumes of a physician and his office staff when an individual is desperate enough to seek the treatment they need that they are willing to pay whatever price necessary to even be seen and are still refused because they can bill the insurance companies for significantly more.

Horrible experience. DR. RABBANI is the rudest medical professional I have ever had the displeasure…read moreof meeting. I have a history of ADHD. When I received my diagnosis at the age of 35, it was life-changing. I remember thinking "is this how the rest of the world views projects, work, discipline, and anything requiring focus." I finally understood myself. Unfortunately, I needed a fresh start after a few years of not taking my medicine. Dr. Rabbani only looked at forms that I filled out (which only asks questions regarding anxiety, depression, and substance and physical abuse) and had less than one minute conversation before refusing to prescribe Aderral. I even told him it didn't have to be that particular med, if that was his concern. He made me feel like I was drug-seeking and was very argumentative. He said I was diagnosed too late for it to be accurate, that ADHD is only diagnosed in young people!!! He says I dont have ADHD, that I have anxiety and depression. I asked how did medications help me in the past if I dont have ADHD. His answer was that cocaine would help, but that didnt mean I should take it. When I questioned further for understanding, he said "I cant make it any clearer that I wont prescribe Aderral." He would not take a look at the medical records I had sent to his office. He only made an assessment based on a skewed questionnaire that I filled out when I was stressed. He asked "do you have any other medical issues *glances in my direction* other than being overweight." I told him I have sleep apnea which can cause the high blood pressure I'm having, but that its currently untreated because my insurance deductible is too high. He immediately questioned "oh you have money for Aderral but not to fix the root cause of your high BP." Aderral is $15 a month vs. $5000 for diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea. He accused me of refusing his treatment plans when I told him my insurance deductible is too high for therapy. No attempt was made to understand why I feel I have, or why two previous Psychiatrists diagnosed me with ADHD. He clearly does not understand ADHD because zero questions were asked once he honed in on anxiety. I have trouble focusing, forgetfulness, executive function paralysis, trouble with every-day conversations, eye contact, hyper fixation and other BASIC symptoms. He did not ask about any of this. I genuinely felt like this man thought I was trying to "score" some meds. He mentioned people sell it on the street and made a cocaine reference twice. I will take a drug test if you want!! I feel that he took one look at me and made an assessment. Overweight: must be trying score adderral to lose weight. Why would a PSYCHIATRIST be so confrontational? I feel attacked. Dr. Rabbani does not understand financial strain and is very judgmental and condescending. These are not good attributes for a psychiatrist. Thank you for stealing a $50 copay from me and whatever balance awaits because I havent met my deductible.
