My buddy brought me here, as it is supposed to be one of the best courses out there. I thought it was solid, but maybe I'm just spoiled with our local SD courses. There is a little sport shop where you can pick up some necessities, which was nice. Bring cash so you can pay the parking donation. Fun times are ahead, enjoy!

What a treat to get to visit DeLa, especially for a newbie with 4 months of playing!…read more Visiting this place was a mix of emotion and terror and all the hype about this place I've read is true. Getting to DeLa was a bit of a winding course through Santa Cruz mountains and you pass through the local golf course first. However, once you get into the wooded area, it sinks in how massive this place really is. Driving toward the parking lot we really saw how technical and complicated this course was. An important thing to note is that this course really isn't designed for the novice and that there are certain rules to follow. We were playing with monthly so we came in between tee times and we're required to let this on a tee time play through. This wasn't a big deal and it was really awesome just to experience this place. The parking lot is pretty small and I believe patience is important out here.

Many of the holes have A/B/C baskets depending on your desired challenge level. The Course: Overall, the courses are pretty long. Most of the shorter holes come in at 300ft (A), but there is a long one with 500ftA/1000ftB/1200ftC. Early and late baskets are in the nice shaded woods. The middle baskets (8-12, including the 1200ft hole) are in a big open field, so you will want sun protection. The course wraps around near the lake so that you can have a great view of the water and kayakers, but not so close that there's any risk of tossing your disk into the lake. The course is well-marked with signs pointing toward the next area. Mostly well groomed, some of the field needed mowing. Be careful of stickers/burrs in tall grass. Amenities: There were bathrooms, but they were closed when we visited, likely covid-related closure. Parking lot for Pinto Lake was decently sized and no fees for parking.

The final part of the course is pretty easy and not too technical but still fun. One thing to watch out for is the poison oak, a week later and I'm just getting over it. There are a couple of holes that you'll have to search for because it's not too clear where they are at but if you have a disk golf app on your smart phone it will lead you to the next hole. Most of the course is around 300 plus feet but there are some holes that are over 500 feet or longer. All open and nothing but a strong arm. The other players on the course are friendly and will direct you in the directions you'll need to go. They'll even help find the disk if thrown into the rough. What is nice about this course is it isn't as busy as the other courses around the area.

Even though there were a lot of people there, it was really relaxing just to walk around in my own little world. There was a nice breeze blowing this morning, so it felt really good just to get out of the house walk past the dog park. It was super cute, I just had a nice relaxing morning walking around seeing the sites and people watching. I totally need to do this more after I get my nails done.

We love to bring our kids here to explore, ride bikes & feed the ducks & geese (we bought a 50lb bag of cracked corn from Tractor Supply for like $18 & keep it in the back of our van.) They are super friendly & will eat out of our kids hands. We accidentally came here yesterday during the Water Lantern Festival & it was insane how many people & food trucks were there. *Tip If you plan on coming for than a few time during the year but the annual parking pass from the electronic kiosks around the park for $50 (it's good for parking at all city parks & The Fresno Zoo as well but it's only good for one cars license plate.
