It's so lovely to have these exchange things around this side of the town. Their is a cute little creek next to the park and trail. I just love how you can hear the water runs next to the park. It's a perfect place to sit, relax, and listen to the water flowing down. While watching kids playing on the jungle gym, people running/ biking or using the free accessible work out stations. The only CONS is that during certain time of the year, the ducks from the water basin next to the park will fly over and poop everywhere.

It also has a side of the canal. Clear water is running and it looks good. You can seat at the edge and enjoy the water. I didn't see any warnings saying not to go in it but maybe is not permitted. There are bathrooms too. They are not too bad. It was a nice stroll at this park. And we enjoyed our reading time on the shaded area.

Anywho, the dude and I come here before the Pandemic and I can tell you that traffic definitely increased when the pandemic occurred as we would not see many people. Anywho, the first time I came to this park which is just across the street from our living quarters. The first time Clovis PD was there removing the homeless camps. Behind Letterman park there is a beautiful canal that has a princess path to get to it and this is where we saw duck couples and followed the same duck couple until they had babies of their own and started to feed their family. The park has a skate park attached to it, grassy areas, play structures and seating. Over the 5 or 6 months we have been frequenting this park we have seen which the pandemic came through and they had to shut down the park by putting caution tap all around. We seen people camp out here, do exercise classes and homeless roaming which he didn't see a lot of that before the pandemic. We walk out there all hours of the day and night. We bring flash lights as it gets pretty dark. We have met a lot of amazing people like a woman for the past 17 years will come out and feed abandoned domestic cats which there are about 10 of them. A really cool homeless dude that gives us updates on our duck babies and action going on. Teens out late probably up to no good. Met a father of three who was a cool dude who was laid off due the pandemic and his kiddos were so adorable! We see Clovis PD in back of the park all the time! So this park gets A LOT of action. However since it's so close we come here A LOT and will continue to do pandemic or not!

A great green grassy area was there with huge trees for shade that was great to run around in and little stands to watch the skateboarders although we just climbed up and down them. Overall I would come back, we stayed on our end of the park as the other seemed to have some homeless people at the picnic benches, they seemed harmless, but I don't want to risk anything happening so we stayed on our end. There was a trail too along the canal there with a fence which was nice as you don't want the kids to run into it or fall in.

Its noticeable that a large majority that take park over early on are inconsiderate of nature and could care less if they trash the place. Then there's people who go through the trash cans dumping everything out? Looking for recycles....which is fine, but dont leave the trash on tbe ground...put it back. Low lifes do crap like that. Anyway, the 2nd visit everything got super real as we nearly drowned farther down. I thought I had it under control but when you no longer see rocks, its time to back up before the current pushes you to where you can no longer stand ground. We were swept away about 1/4 mile swimming against the current. Honestly. I believe our crocs helped keep us from becoming too tired. Finally I was able to pull and push my daughter from the left of me around to the right bank where I told her to grab onto branches from a tree submerged in the water. I thought I was a gonner after she had been hanging on me and I was quickly losing my stamina. I was lucky enough to catch branches a few yards down and we both made it. It was traumatizing to say the least and im so thankful we didnt experoence the undertow Ive heard so much about. As traumatizing as it was, I plan on returning, but staying only where river rocks are visible to tbe nakedness eye. Beware going too far be ause it gets deep real fast. Besides that incident, we had a fun time. Be ssfe.

Cars are driven up to the water even though signs say not to. The county needs to clean up their bathrooms because they are very dirty. Half the people just drive in and don't pay the car fee. All around this place has so much potential but it is lost due to lazy people and even worse, state management.

The best part is the one for little kiddos is all covered by tree cover. It's entirely shaded-the swings the slide all of it!! No other park has that! Lol. Plus The huge amount of swings, and the wide open space for toddlers to run. There is lots of parking, and lots of people around. Haven't used their batting cages, dog park or restrooms yet, but we see others using them constantly. There are also quite a bit of picnic shelters here. Great for parties!

People have left their dogs unattended in there and also mix the big dogs with the little dog side. People should listen to the rules and guidelines as it protects the safety of everyone animals!
