One ring was 10k gold, the other titanium. I'm not sure if the woman helping me did understand what I was saying or if it was a language barrier, but the whole transaction was weird. She took the rings and had a look. When she looked at the titanium ring she mumbled something about not being able to find a stamp on the inside and that she would assume it was 10k gold. I corrected her but she ignored me. She threw the rings on a scale together then pulled out a calculator. She came up with a price of $135. I said thanks but no-thanks and went to leave. She then called over another guy who had a look. He threw the titanium ring back at me saying there's nothing he can do with it, which is understandable. He then looked at the gold ring and came back with a price of $95. That was good enough for me and took the cash. The woman who was originally helping me said that she didn't know why he was giving me that price and mumbled something to the guy in another language. These guys need to get their crap together. Then he said I owed him another $938 for the bands in 18k white gold. The bracelet was 35.5 grams of 14k gold. On May 27, '25 , 14k gold was $85.40/g, totalling $3031.70, ..he gave me $2000. When I realized the mistake 1 hour later, I called him and he said he had already sent it to his refiner and the refiner said it was only 11k gold. This was after Serko did 2 acid tests on the bracelet right in front of me. Yesterday I went and picked up the wedding bands, I gave him the $938 as I cannot admit to my fiance that I have been scammed. The 2 bands have a total weight of 12.5 grams, and as 18k white gold is 75% gold and 25% nickle, that is a total of 9.375g of gold, or $800.63. With the theft of $1000 in the sale of the bracelet and the additional $938, I paid $3938 for 2 rings that have ~$800 worth of gold in them. Of course there is labour in the making of the rings , but not $3k. I feel dumb and duped.

Armen was nice and he gave us a quick overview on how Diamonds for Less works. He told us it's usually the last stop for people who've already shopped around a bit and know what they want. With that, we left and visited more shops to get an idea of what we wanted. Then we booked an appointment and came back a few weeks later. This is where it went downhill very quickly. Our appointment was with Serko. Based on other reviews, we thought it would be a great experience. It was quite the opposite. To start, he didn't even greet us or ask for our names. We awkwardly entered the office and took a seat (without him offering us one). He actually didn't even say anything and just stared at us. So we started the conversation, telling him about our search so far. We told him that based on our chat with Armen, we think we're ready to take a look at Diamonds for Less' inventory. Again, not much prompting of questions from Serko. I was honestly just so uncomfortable at this point. He didn't seem friendly or helpful at all. He didn't even seem like he wanted us to buy anything. He asked us characteristics we're looking for and we told him the 4 Cs. So he showed us a few. We were looking for GIA certified, which limited the amount of inventory they had. Out of the few he showed us, we liked one and asked to see the GIA report. We noticed it had medium fluorescence and we wanted none. We brought it up and asked if he had any with none. He went on a whole spiel about how fluorescence isn't a bad thing. You can only notice under black light. Why don't we want it? His wife has one with fluorescence! Why didn't we tell him from the start we didn't want fluorescence?! We need to be straight with him. We won't find one with no fluorescence here. I don't even know how to describe how we felt. We wanted to just get up and walk away. Had he asked us in the beginning our preference for each characteristic, he would have figured it out. But instead, he just asked us what we wanted. Fluorescence slipped our mind. Anyhow, we stayed and asked more questions. We asked to compare a few of the diamonds with different characteristics. He asked us why? You're not interested in that one, so why do you want to see it? We thought, "Well, maybe if you let us see it and we like it better, we might?" But we didn't say anything. He then told us he had a diamond in his other location overseas with no fluorescence - Wait, I thought he just told us we wouldn't find one with none here?.... After looking at the GIA report, we thought it was a good option. We were going to another store after and wanted to see their selection first before committing to this purchase. We asked Serko if we could call the day after to see if it's still available. He said it won't be. Someone will probably buy it. So we say okay, can we call anyway to see? He said sure, gave us his card and we left. That's when I could breathe again. There were many other little things that happened or was said during the experience that just made it even more terrible. I wish we had a better experience because they do have good prices! Just not the people we want to be dealing with for a very special piece.

Most of the time I order items for gifts, but don't give them because I have a hard time not keeping them for myself. . Shipping is super fast and the only thing I might complain about, it that often the discount codes don't always work, but I just email them and they in short order send out a new one that does. I love love love this company. I had bought a bracelet when I received it I loved it but I realized I needed a narrower style. I emailed and asked about exchanging for something more narrow. Not only did they answer immediately they asked me to keep the bracelet and they would give me a credit to use for something else. The pieces are solid gold and quite expensive. Customer service has been poor in each experience with no positive resolutions. In the instance of the broken bracelet, I was told it's considered "wear and tear" despite only having the bracelet for two years and it being marketed as an "everyday" bracelet. I asked for a link to write an updated review for this bracelet and was told it wasn't possible as I'd already left a review 2 years prior (when I had first purchased it and did not have issues). If this company considers 2 years a sufficient life span for a solid gold bracelet, it is not a store I recommend you spending your money at. I sincerely regret the $1200+ I've spent here myself.

There seems to be a consistent tactic of aggressively downplaying the value of items--regardless of brand or condition. I brought in recognized luxury pieces, including Rolex and Van Cleef, and was repeatedly made to feel like they were somehow irrelevant or undesirable in the current market, which is simply not accurate. What stood out most was how quickly the tone changed once I referenced real, verifiable pricing. I had similar watches on consignment with Swiss Gallery, where the pricing is transparent and publicly listed. As soon as I mentioned this, the conversation was abruptly cut short with "I'll call you back"--which never happened. This wasn't just unprofessional--it felt calculated. What's also very clear is that Van Rijk operates with very old-fashioned tactics that simply don't align with how reputable dealers conduct business today. The approach feels outdated and, frankly, out of touch with the current luxury resale market. By contrast, places like Swiss Gallery and Oliver's Jewellery in Yorkville offer a completely different experience. At Oliver's, Joey (the manager) provided outstanding customer service--genuine, modern, and highly professional. It actually makes you want to come back. I've now completed about four separate transactions with them, and every single one has been a smooth, enjoyable experience. The same goes for Swiss Gallery in Yorkville. I've bought, traded, and sold five Rolex watches through them, and the experience has been consistently excellent--friendly, transparent, up-to-date, and professional every single time. Overall, Van Rijk feels outdated and, at times, questionable in its approach. I would strongly recommend anyone selling luxury items to get multiple opinions and not rely on a single offer--especially here.

Unfortunately, the interaction with Andrea was dismissive and unprofessional from the start. Rather than helping address our concerns, she appeared uninterested and walked away during the conversation, providing only her name and the manager's name. What should have been a simple customer service issue left me feeling frustrated, upset, and unheard. When customers return with concerns about an important purchase like an engagement ring, they deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism. Sadly, that was not my experience Please please don't ever speak to the miserable woman named Andrea I promise you Nothing good will come from that experience.

I came to Guo because the repair cost was less expensive than the other place in Gerrard Square. They charged me $80 for the repair which I thought was fair, but the diamond that they chose to replace the missing one is a different colour than the other existing stones. The curvature of the C is also a little bit off- which is my fault because I should have showed them a photo of the original. Overall, it was fine. You can only tell that it's been repaired on close inspection. But in the future I might decide to go elsewhere.

I went to DFL to exchange an old gold bracelet for some 18k white gold wedding bands. Serko gave…read moreme ~$1k less for the bracelet than what it was worth. Then he said I owed him another $938 for the bands in 18k white gold. The bracelet was 35.5 grams of 14k gold. On May 27, '25 , 14k gold was $85.40/g, totalling $3031.70, ..he gave me $2000. When I realized the mistake 1 hour later, I called him and he said he had already sent it to his refiner and the refiner said it was only 11k gold. This was after Serko did 2 acid tests on the bracelet right in front of me. Yesterday I went and picked up the wedding bands, I gave him the $938 as I cannot admit to my fiance that I have been scammed. The 2 bands have a total weight of 12.5 grams, and as 18k white gold is 75% gold and 25% nickle, that is a total of 9.375g of gold, or $800.63. With the theft of $1000 in the sale of the bracelet and the additional $938, I paid $3938 for 2 rings that have ~$800 worth of gold in them. Of course there is labour in the making of the rings , but not $3k. I feel dumb and duped.

Armen was nice and he gave us a quick overview on how Diamonds for Less works. He told us it's usually the last stop for people who've already shopped around a bit and know what they want. With that, we left and visited more shops to get an idea of what we wanted. Then we booked an appointment and came back a few weeks later. This is where it went downhill very quickly. Our appointment was with Serko. Based on other reviews, we thought it would be a great experience. It was quite the opposite. To start, he didn't even greet us or ask for our names. We awkwardly entered the office and took a seat (without him offering us one). He actually didn't even say anything and just stared at us. So we started the conversation, telling him about our search so far. We told him that based on our chat with Armen, we think we're ready to take a look at Diamonds for Less' inventory. Again, not much prompting of questions from Serko. I was honestly just so uncomfortable at this point. He didn't seem friendly or helpful at all. He didn't even seem like he wanted us to buy anything. He asked us characteristics we're looking for and we told him the 4 Cs. So he showed us a few. We were looking for GIA certified, which limited the amount of inventory they had. Out of the few he showed us, we liked one and asked to see the GIA report. We noticed it had medium fluorescence and we wanted none. We brought it up and asked if he had any with none. He went on a whole spiel about how fluorescence isn't a bad thing. You can only notice under black light. Why don't we want it? His wife has one with fluorescence! Why didn't we tell him from the start we didn't want fluorescence?! We need to be straight with him. We won't find one with no fluorescence here. I don't even know how to describe how we felt. We wanted to just get up and walk away. Had he asked us in the beginning our preference for each characteristic, he would have figured it out. But instead, he just asked us what we wanted. Fluorescence slipped our mind. Anyhow, we stayed and asked more questions. We asked to compare a few of the diamonds with different characteristics. He asked us why? You're not interested in that one, so why do you want to see it? We thought, "Well, maybe if you let us see it and we like it better, we might?" But we didn't say anything. He then told us he had a diamond in his other location overseas with no fluorescence - Wait, I thought he just told us we wouldn't find one with none here?.... After looking at the GIA report, we thought it was a good option. We were going to another store after and wanted to see their selection first before committing to this purchase. We asked Serko if we could call the day after to see if it's still available. He said it won't be. Someone will probably buy it. So we say okay, can we call anyway to see? He said sure, gave us his card and we left. That's when I could breathe again. There were many other little things that happened or was said during the experience that just made it even more terrible. I wish we had a better experience because they do have good prices! Just not the people we want to be dealing with for a very special piece.
