Joseph's Marketplace, an Italian market. just off of Mercer rd., right where it changes from Highland rd to Mercer rd. Joseph's is convenient for me, it's just into Neshannock TWP and easy access off Mercer rd. into the plaza. Coming from Mahoning County, it's a nice surprise in this area. They have a nice sized Market. Like supermarket sized in 1968, I'd imagine () and the aisles have food racks that you can see over. It's connected to a coffee shop, baked goods (mainly pies and cakes and Italian cookie variety's. Like clothes pins, Buckeyes, it rotates and is fresh daily and unless you live next to Jimmies in Liberty you will do just fine here with the desserts you will find here. I've had a little of everything here over a year and it's all typically excellent. This side also has some breakfast muffin type things, a nice area with nice round tables and chairs, and a front window that lets in light. You got a parking lot to look at, but it's actually nice to look out here. They serve hot food daily, the menu is updated by 11am daily on Facebook. But, it's popular, so if they have pot roast or something, it goes fast. Saturdays when warm they do racks of ribs for carry out. You have to be checking Facebook on fridays for this it's preorder. Nice feature is the Coffee shop side is walled off from the grocery, open just at the very front to go to grocery. The grocery side looks like a small market. And walking through the place the outside wall from the left is. Veg, meat, deli, and down far wall, dairy and freezer. Also inside is bread (can find Mancini and Breadworks here. Whole loaves, sliced, rolls and buns. So, THIS is where you go for genuine rolls for cookouts) Everything else is standard Italian market. When in season they'll have greens and vegetables, but it's more about the Olives and canned goods here. And nice selection of Italian baked biscuits and cookies here. The freezer is great. Lots of homemade pastas and filled pastas. And Wholey's brand seafood. Calamari, breaded, and frozen whole. The service is always friendly. There will be just one register going, but I've never had to stand in a line. It's usually people picking up genuine products for sauce or a recipe. No people with the cart filled up, so it's fast and easy to get in and out. I go here like I'd go to a Dollar General. Milk, bread, and then I look around for anything else I might need. And always wander over to the Coffee Shop first to see if you want a desert or cookies. Nice spot to impulse buy a couple cannoli. Overall this is a great spot to shop, let alone an area standard. One of those places that have been here in New Castle for a hundred years, and is still run as a local friendly place that draws in anyone looking for Nona's Italian market for Holidays, Sundays, or just day to day grocery shopping. Jospeh's is my go to everyday store for meats, bakery items or quick dinners. I'm in there non stop even 2x a day sometimes. I placed a bakery cake order for my child's birthday, was super specific on the theme and what I wanted of course. I called to add something on to the order and gave details and to confirm they could do it, they said yes. I get my order and it's not even in the same zip code as what I ordered, I called that night to confirm my additional order was correct because I was disappointed with what I got and felt screwed, I was so disappointed I ran to GE to get new cupcakes. When I called and spoke to the owner he was very dismissive and didn't show any empathy towards the mess up, instead I was met with "it's a busy time of year and my ladies in the bakery are making thousands of items and i'm surprised they are still standing" while I have compassion towards that and can understand I still paid for a service $60 to be exact to get something I didn't ask for, If you're that swamped I suppose you shouldn't of taken my order to begin with. I will no longer come back since my order wasn't an importance to your business. read more

It took me sometime but finally went and loved it. that small store.. is really big. also, just found out that Josephs Market supports and supplies many other small businesses around us that most take for granted but yet... depend on. This is a family run market located in a small plaza just north of downtown New Castle. They specialize in great cuts is meat, wonderful ground sausage (we love the mild), artisan bread and a hot food deli at lunchtime. The senior activity center is in this plaza, so many older folks get lunch or items for dinner here. I crave their ham salad spread and the humongous glazed sweet rolls, but the sweets are only available on Saturday mornings, if you get there early. They also take orders for cubed lamb, a rack of cooked ribs, and other specialties. Great service with a smile! read more

I love Joseph's Market!!! They have amazing meat. I love their filets,lamb, homemade sausage and small roasting chickens. They have great Kibbee, Mac and cheese and stuffed hot peppers. I could just go on and on. Everyone that works there is kind and helpful. Their selection on canned goods is fabulous. Also, they have lots of olives, nuts, and even pine nuts. I love Joseph's Market. It's an amazing family rum store. Joseph's market has a nice deli department. They sell great breads. They often have pistachios. I love Joseph's. read more

I loved their hot and sweet sausage. But never again will I go there. I bought packages of sausage marked down .50 cents. Figure I would save a few bucks cause I was going to cook soon as I got home. Got home witch Is a half hour drive. All packages where spoiled. Stunk really bad. Called them, mang said bring them back. So half hour drive back. He did agree they were spoiled. He did replace the 4 packages. Here's the good part. He said for my trouble he put an extra package in bag. I get home and pull out extra package. It was a discounted package that was spoiled!!!! OMG!!! Really!!! I'll hold my thoughts and be nice. But never again ever will go in that store again read more

Great selection of specialty Mediterranean items. This is a nice, clean place to stop for last-minute dinner items and meat; however, their customer service leaves a LOT to be desired. Several times have I been left to stand at the deli unattended while store clerks stand around chatting (or, in some cases, are nowhere to be found). I want to love this place so badly... The hot sausage is good. Fennel seed, and the hot is pretty hot. Was there once and they have a pretty nice meat case. They sell garlic sauce and Syrian pepper sauce, and they also sell a 1/2 leg of lamb, boned out, for kebabs. Lot of Delallo products. If you're looking for a nice cut of meat, stop in. Joseph's is a small family owned market. Big enough to get everything you need but small enough to get personal service. They have a great meat counter and the deli section features homemade Middle Eastern specialties. Their "Syrian Bread" is terrific. read more
