We've had several not-so-great experiences at this Covington location over the years, but the last…read moreone ... was the last one. We went in last week for Taco Tuesday. It was around 7:15. They were relatively busy, but not slammed (quite a few empty tables). We were seated in the very back corner on the south side of the building (not a problem, but a little off the "main" part of the dining room). We looked over our menus and waited for a server. And waited. And waited. During this time, a male server (a pretty good sized fellow) came over to the table right across from us at least 3 separate times ... glanced at our table but didn't acknowledge us. When he walked away the first time, we assumed he was probably going to go to another server that they had been seated, but no one else ever appeared. He came back to that table again and made conversion with the lady and child who were sitting there (and were apparently, waiting for another person to join them). Never looked our way. Came back a third time and by this time, we had been waiting for over 15 minutes. He again glanced ar our table (avoiding eye contact) and walked away again. It was obvious we had not been waited on, still had our menus in front of us and nothing to drink or anything. So we decided to leave. On the way out the door, I stopped at the register up front and told the lady, in a very polite but disappointed tone, that we had been sitting back there at our booth for over 15 minutes and had never even been acknowledged in any way by anyone. She just stared blankly at me, as if she either didn't understand English to know what I was saying, or like she truly could not care less ... not sure which (although both are unacceptable, so it doesn't really matter). She never said a word. Just looked at me blankly. So we just turned and walked out the door. They obviously didn't give two hoots about disappointing the customer. We will not be back. Oh, and one more thing ... just a day or two later, we read the most recent bad health department inspection reports, during which they seized a good deal of their meats for being held at over 54° so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that we didn't eat there that night! Might've regretted that, big time. Anyway, we'll find other places to spend our Taco Tuesday nights, but it won't be at any restaurant called Margaritas.

We never got to order drinks, we didn't get chips if that's a thing, we never had a waiter/waitress--we just got up and helped ourselves to the buffet. Yuck! But we ate and waited for a bill that never came. Finally we went to the cashier and told them what we had, paid, and left. It was the strangest experience I've had in decades.

I wasn't that impressed my taco had a weird flavor to it almost sweet and in my opinion they are a bit pricey. The chips were okay.... I might think of coming back just to see if they are any better second time round. But I didn't enjoy the taco or burrito I had.
