Los Comales on Madison was really good and hit the spot. I ordered two steak street tacos and they were seasoned just right, not dry at all. The meat was tender and had alot of flavor for something so simple. The tortillas were warm and fresh which made a big difference. I also had a strawberry margarita and it was sweet but still strong enough to enjoy. Everything came out pretty quick even though they were kinda busy. The vibe was chill and felt like a good place to stop after a long day. I'd def go back again for tacos and drinks.

Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Restaurant looked authentic and the bathrooms were really clean. If you go get the ribs. It is loud when they are busy but well worth it.

Came for the Euro 2024 Finale, was super impressed with their margaritas and food. Quick, delicious and great value. Some critiques: the corn tortillas they make for the Gordita was fabulous, but the other corn tortillas they provide are kind of stale. The queso fundido is a cheese dip with chorizo whereas authentic queso fundido is very thick and served with fresh corn tortillas. Still, the food was delicious, the salsa was fresh and I'm a huge fan of their margaritas (tamarindo especially). The atmosphere is a mix of clientele, which is nice. It isn't too loud but had a cool vibe. Great spot.

The only thing that was good was the kiddos meal couldn't find the waitress very dismissive with us but gladly to serve other people and to try to get some else attention they shook there head like no where not coming over just to see what we needed had us still sitting here haven't got refills on drinks no chips not salsa she never came back that was rude (Francis) is her name never ask for her very rude Its a no for me

Great margaritas and great tacos! I went in with some coworkers recently when I was in town. The staff was nice, even though it was sort of a big crown all at once. We ordered margaritas pitchers and loved them! And I enjoyed my carne asada taco. The chips and salsa for the table was perfect. Their chips are delish.

First time here. I was downtown and since it was lunchtime I had a taste for a good taco. I ordered the marinaded pork tacos with all fixings on hard shell. The marinated pork with onions, cilantro, radish and limes on Mexican shell was delicious although not a fan of this particular shell. It was softer and my food kept falling out. I'm more of the standard hard shell type. The food came out hot and fast. The spicy guacamole mustard colored dipping sauce was excellent. The taste is amazing and if you love spicy this is highly recommended. I couldn't get enough of this and I'm not a big spicy fan. That big glass of tea helped cool my mouth down. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly staff. The place is amazingly spacious and larger inside than it looked on the outside. Lots of seating and great for larger groups. Parking was on the side of the building between it and a thrift store which is my next stop. The 2 tacos were enough to fill me up but not stuffed. I had a great lunch in a relaxing atmosphere for under $10. The place was easy to get to right on Madison. I'll definitely visit here again and bring my friends.

Whether you want margaritas and chips or a full meal, this is a great spot! Their salsas are unique and flavorful, and I found myself constantly reaching for more. The most important thing I noticed was that the prices were extremely affordable compared to some other Mexican restaurants. I tried a Gordita for about $5, a margarita for about $7 and they were delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Huge menu, very friendly, fast service, and big portions of delicious food. Very happy with our experience here! And great for bringing kids ;) Recommend the ceviche! It's huge!

One suggestion: the front patio could really benefit from some music. Even a low-volume speaker tied into the DJ's system would help create the same experience outside without disturbing the neighborhood. The biggest challenge is parking. Street parking is risky, and several visitors have learned the hard way that tickets are easy to get. Save yourself the headache and use the parking garage across the street for about $4. It's worth it compared to a $25 parking ticket. Unfortunately, service was the weakest part of the experience. The staff appeared overworked, overwhelmed, and likely short-staffed. While that is understandable, the customer experience suffered. There was very little interaction from greeters, servers, or bartenders. Guests are instructed to wait to be seated, but there was little guidance, communication, or assistance. Long waits and a lack of acknowledgment made the visit frustrating. Food was mixed. The wings and fries were excellent--so good they disappeared before there was time to take a picture. The spring rolls, however, were under-seasoned, slightly overcooked, and only two come with an order, which felt disappointing for the price. The dipping sauces helped, but the filling could have used more flavor. The standout of the night was the Smash It cocktail. Made with Suntory Toki whiskey, basil, lemon, simple syrup, and an absinthe rinse, it was refreshing, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the visit. Would I return? Yes. But next time I'll go with adjusted expectations: eat beforehand, enjoy the atmosphere, grab a cocktail, and consider anything else a bonus. Pro Tips: Order the Smash It cocktail. The wings and fries are worth trying. Park in the garage across the street. Don't expect fast service during busy times. If you're hungry, have a snack before you arrive. Great atmosphere and cocktails, but service and parking keep it from reaching its full potential. With better staffing and a little more attention to guests, this place could easily be a 5-star experience.

There is a large bar top with very nice barstools, a dinner style seating area, a small stage for performances, an area that can either be a dance floor or anything else, and a wonderful back area as a private lounge. The private lounge has privacy glass. It can be a VIP area, or a cigar lounge, or another venue space. There are restrooms for men and women. I was impressed with The Pocket layout. It is accessible from a wonderfully historic staircase from the Tailor's Union upstairs. I loved that at the beginning of the staircase coming down, there is an original fireplace in the brick wall of the stairwell, super original and very nostalgic to the space. Overall, I recommend this space for venues. I hope that they are bookable on Peerspace or another venue space site. Great experience.

I thought that was a really dope idea that you have to walk in and then walk behind whatever you think it's supposed to be there to find the actual bar. When you come in the building is kind of dark. But when you walk back to the bar, it's super white and lit. It looks beautiful! We talked to the owner for a little bit, he was super nice and super friendly. My drink was good. Customer service was pretty good as well. We got there too late to where there was no food, but that's not why we were coming. This is a nice little hidden gem. That's the way the owner described it! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
