My dad was craving for Mexican food and we discovered this place. The service was great , food was hearty and environment was clean and spacious. We ordered the Sopa de Torilla and Fajita Quesadilla was beyond our taste and servicing size expectations. And, the chips and salsa we enjoyed before our meal was fresh and warm. Los Reyes was ok but nothing special. It was a quick stop after my husband's grandmother's funeral. There were not many options in the area and I wanted Mexican. The service was decent and it was quick. The food also came out quick, it just wasn't anything to write home about. Like most Mexican restaurants, they start by serving you chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were decent. Nothing special but they weren't bad. We also tried a cup of their Queso dip. It too was decent but nothing special. I ordered one beef taco and one chicken enchilada with rice and beans. The beef taco was ok. It was better than the enchilada. I only took a couple of bites of the enchilada as I didn't really care for it. The chicken could have been a little more tender. It also needed some seasoning and flavoring. It was bland. I ate all my taco and most of the rice and beans. My husband ordered two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. He ate all of his food because he was hungry. He thought the enchiladas were ok. He agreed he has had better but he didn't think they were bad. Overall, Los Reyes is nothing special and a quick fix if you are craving Mexican. I wouldn't suggest coming here with a high expectation for the food. read more

Been here a few times, food is pretty good, service is pretty good, but on 7/23 they added $5 to my purchase after tip was added. (Came through on my Credit Card statement) NOT HAPPY at all, the total was clear at bottom, how you add $5 is beyond me. I'm not local, so not worth the drive to go argue. I won't be back. read more

I've recently eaten here twice and both times the food has been fabulous. The prices are good and the restaurant looks clean. The service was good as well. They are very accommodating with menu items . Their fajitas are not overcooked like other Mexican restaurants and the proteins are not skinny slivers of tough dried out meat. The food was okay.. I got the grande nachos, removed the tomato, lettuce, chicken, and sour cream. When I got it half the nachos just had meat that tasted ehh. I was craving a burrito and we decided to try a new place. The restaurant was clean. The service was a slow. The food was okay. Ordered a chili relleno and it was super wet and the Chalupa was soggy. The chalupa was more of a tostada and full of lettuce (hardly any meat). We also had a Chimichanga that was mainly vegetables inside with little meat. Supposed to be covered in cheese and I did not find any on the plate. I will say the mango margarita was super good. You could taste the mango and the tequilla. This was very bad Mexican food and the service was poor, as well. My husband's food arrived before mine. I believe they forgot to make my plate. I would not mention if they had prepared it properly, but the plate was very hot, and the cheese inside the enchilada was not even warm. Poor attempt to prepare it. The chalupa was buried under a couple of cups of very watery cold "refried" beans which made the tostada soggy. Besides being cold, the beans were not tasty. I was very disappointed. Last meal there was just mediocre, like that of a big chain. Doesn't taste so authentic as it did years ago. Their guac was like green in color with possibly sour cream added. Wasn't crazy about the flavor. The servers are personable though & the prices are reasonable. read more

Being from Texas, I'm always hesitant to try any "out-of-state" Tex-Mex establishment, but after multiple visits to Los Reyes I can confirm they exceed all expectations. Disappointing for a Mexican restaurant. Had a waiter who could care less. I ordered a cheese enchilada and chili rellano. Got a beef enchilada instead and a fair rellano. Wife got the taco salad and it was a disaster. There was white stuff in the bottom like soup and meat was barely visible. Showed it to the waiter and he said that's how they all are and didn't offer to replace it. I said forget it on the cheese enchilada. Quest dip was good. But Salsa was not. Horrendous would be the best term to describe this place. Lets start with the staff. The guy that sat us just plopped the menus on the table and walked away...not enjoy your dinner...nope, nada, nothing. The waitress was about as inattentive as it gets and the place wasn't busy at all, SURPRISE SUPRISE, but we only saw her when she took the order, brought the food and then the bill. Oh yeah, she did ask if I wanted a refill of tea when she brought the bill at the very end, you know, when we're done eating and needing a refill at that point was pretty much useless. The food: I wouldn't give it any stars if I could. The salsa is ok and I actually would've liked more of it but that would require the waitress to be attentive. We both had the chicken chimichangas and they were sitting in a pool of oil and were soggy. It was like eating Crisco for dinner. Beans have no flavor and the rice tasted like white rice with food coloring added. I know it's Millington and Mexican food places in the area are bad but good grief, this place takes #1 for ABSOLUTLEY FREAKING AWFUL! The best tacos I've had from a Mexican Restaurant. I had the chorizo tacos, and they were everything I could've wanted: the chorizo was spicy and flavorful, the pico was fresh and added that needed zing against the rich chorizo, and there was this spicy salsa they served with it that I dipped the tacos in and took the taste to a whole new level with the acid and extra spices. I was barely able to finish the beans and rice that came with it. The chips and salsa were a welcome side, the chips remained crunchy for the whole 30 minute ride home. I will definitely be going back and taking friends with me. It's perfect service for this to-go Covid season we're in, and when they open back up when all this is done, you bet I'll be trying their tacos with corn tortillas this time - which IS an option if you like. Los Reyes is a great place in a small town. Service is quick, prices are average, and the people are great! Margaritas are inexpensive but we'll flavored. I eat here when I am in town; and I have to say that I like going to a family owned restaurant that places emphasis on the food. There are not alot of Mexican markets in the area; so I am assuming that they go out of their way to make their own stuff. The catalyst for this meal had to be the "tequila spice fajitas". A melange of skirt steak, peppers, and onions served in a molcajete dripping with tequila sauce. Nothing was too salty; and there was a nice mix betwen the acidic, spice, and savory. I asked for corn tortillas, and am convinced that they are casera, rather than store bought. I came here with my little family because it was on the way back home from Poplar Tree Lake. There is a very limited selection of restaurants in the area. The reviews looked a little iffy to me, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was super hungry. I decided to ask our server to recommend something and ordered the Pollo San Juan. It wasn't something I would normally order, but I was glad I did and was pleasantly surprised. It was grilled chicken breast with grilled onions, fresh grilled pineapple chunks and chorizo, served with rice and beans. Very tasty. It's supposed to have cheese dip on top, but I asked for it without and it was good. I don't think the cheese dip would've added to the dish, but then I'm not a fan of the whole Memphis "Mexican" cheese dip thing anyways. My husband had a burrito of some sort which he liked. The interior was cheery and pleasant. I wouldn't recommend making a special trip here, but if you're in the area this is definitely the better choice vs. the yucky buffet nearby or fast food. read more

Stopped here yesterday after my daughter's volleyball game. We arrived between 6:30pm - 6:45pm. I asked the host if they could turn on the fan located right next to the table we were sitting. He said "I can't". It was warm in there but not so warm that I had to leave. Just would have been nice to be comfortable while I ate. They weren't real busy but there were a few occupied tables in our area. The chips were overcooked (just slightly). The cheese dip wasn't warm enough. There was a clump of cheese in the center. I ordered the nacho's w/beef. The meat was bland and the chips were soggy. Not soft because of the cheese. Soggy, as if someone loaded them on a plate with a puddle of water. This restaurant is located right on highway 51 in Millington. And let me say that it is a great place to go and eat while on lunch break.. Just don't expect to be back in your allotted 30 minute lunch break. But I guarantee you will be full and your hunger will be satisfied! The food is great and, best of all, it's authentic! Certain gripes would have to be language barriers occasionally, but that just lets you know the authenticity of this establishment.
