Had breakfast with my grandchildren today. It was crowded because it's a Sunday but the food made it worth the wait. The kiddos enjoyed the pancakes but the ham and cheese omelette was a clear winner. The kids size scrambled egg (1egg) was enough for 3 people and it was hard with no taste. Came here with my wife and she got the Eggs Benedict -- honestly looked amazing, one of those dishes that makes you wish you ordered the same thing. The caramel macchiato was spot on, and the tuna sandwich was solid too, just a little spicy if you're sensitive to that. The café is spacious but gets loud when it fills up -- you can still have a conversation, just don't expect a quiet vibe. Small thing but I appreciated the real cloth napkins and the restrooms were genuinely clean, which says a lot about how they run the place. Parking is street only, mix of free and paid, so plan ahead. Service was fine but felt a bit rushed -- they're clearly busy. Stopped in for breakfast during the weekday. The staff are really helpful in describing the menu when you have questions. I was recommended to try the June drink called a Sunflower Latte, with hazelnut, honey, and white chocolate. I really enjoyed the options for seating and was able to find a little bar to eat at. My visit today was a return stop from the last time i was in town (about a year ago). What a disappointing visit today was. The pastry did not look at all "special" or house made. The muffins were for sure a scoop and bake from Sysco. The selection at lunch was very limited. I had the Tuna sandwich with a side of fruit. The fruit was fresh, my sandwich was very thin on tuna, and very spicy/hot in taste. A lake of mayo (creaminess) was also an issue for me. Not a good vale for the check ($) at all. I had been looking forward to a return to this location. On a side note, be careful in this downtown area with credit card surcharges (3%). Almost every food establishment (all of a sudden) started adding it to checks. Also NOT acceptable. read more

The food was real good. We just had a typical eggs , bacon and pancakes...the pancakes so yummy. We also had a cinnamon roll which was good but the frosting a little much. The caramel roll was terrific and so moist and not overly sweet...perfect! Our coffees were drip which was good and a white mocha which was real good....not too sweet, just right. Decided to go here on New Year's Day got there at the perfect timing. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast key points about this place. It's a little bit of a of a weird set up to order your food. I saw a lot of people getting confused. Other than that. The ambience is beautiful. The staff are well organized and productive, and the food is delicious. You enter a line area and walk past fabulous bakery items and review the menu as you approach the counter to order. Place your order and pay at the counter. You get a number so they can find you and deliver your order. It's a large restaurant. They have a grab and go area too - selling refrigerator items and frozen for later. The food was good and the coffee was hot! Would definitely go back and take it slow to enjoy! Amazing!!!! They had several gluten-free desserts too! We were there for breakfast but I definitely want to return to try those! I had the corned beef hash and eggs. Super tasty! Once you figure out how to order and get your table, it's 5 stars all the way down. It's a welcoming open environment, almost like an apres ski lodge. It was also a bit larger than we had imagined. Our lattes were great, our food was delicious and exactly how we ordered it, and my wife said it was literally the best oatmeal she's ever had. Which sounds a bit silly until you know this additional tidbit: she had a bowl of oatmeal in Vermont about 10 years ago that was so good she's been measuring all oatmeals against it since that time and nothing anywhere ever ever ever compared. Until today at Josiah's. My French toast was also wonderful and had a rich cinnamon vibe that was totally working for me. When I first read the reviews I got the sense this was a coffee shop with some nice pastries. It is definitely that, too, and the pastries case will likely widen your eyes when you see it, but really this is a coffee shop that also has a legit great restaurant inside. You order at the counter and are provided a number so servers can find your table once your order is ready. The baked goods are baked fresh daily and we had a huge slice of cookie cake that hit the spot! The portions for breakfast/lunch are huge and everything was fresh! I had a grilled onion, bacon, and Gruyère omelet that was 5 eggs. They have monthly drink specials and during May they had a horchata chai. It was DELICIOUS, so much so that I had it multiple times. We ordered a gluten free pizza (which I had no idea they had) and believe it or not this was one of the best gluten free pizzas I've ever had! It was delicious per usual! We walked in and the line was to the door and we almost left, but it was moving quickly and we decided to wait in line. There were menus as we walked in and we were able to decide what we wanted while waiting in line. We passed the bakery items and decided to get a 7 layer bar and apple streusel, which were both really good. We ordered too much food since the portions are almost big enough for two to share. The pancakes were delicious and more enjoyable then the French toast. The salmon omelette was good but I probably wouldn't order it again. It needed more sauce. The English muffins were amazing and I would definitely order them again. Tables were big and could be shared with another family or two. They ask you find a table after you order. We were thrilled with our experience from the super friendly dude at the counter to every bite of our food. You order at the counter. I do wish we had grabbed a menu on the way in and took time to look first as there are so many options it's intimidating at first at the counter. Thankfully our Guy was patient as could be with us. After you order and get a number, you find a table. Almost all of them are huge for some reason, so the two of us had to take up a giant round table which was the smallest one that was open. Would have happily shared if needed. Our food was brought to us and it was exceptional. My avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs and fresh fruit was terrific. Husband loved the breakfast pizza. Most amazing gluten free pizza I've ever had. My wife is gluten free and I am not. So I end up eating gluten free pizza quite a lot and this just blew away the competition. Truly a gluten free that is hands down best in town. I was very impressed with the service of the staff even when we were a little on the needy side this morning. I have a pregnant wife and they were so pleasant and helpful even when we asked to change booths. This is a cute little restaurant located on 12th Street that serves breakfast and lunch. My son and I decided to eat here based on the reviews. The ambiance and decor is nice and welcoming. The person at the counter was friendly and helpful. The menu has several options to choose from. My son ordered the Gouda Grilled Cheese and chips ($11.50), I got the California English Muffin Sandwich with Fruit ($12.25). The food tasted ok. It was served hot and tasted fresh. The sign on the door says dogs on a lease are welcome. Ok, that's fine. However, there should be guidelines. This lady came in with a very large dog and sat by the door. Yes, the dog was on a leash, but for looks only. Her dog was so big that no one could leave or come in without having to go past the dog and pet it. The dog was so big that the head was on top of the table when standing on all four legs. She allowed the dog to rub his head on the table. The lady put dog food on the bare floor for her dog to eat. She also took her dog bowl to the drink station and filled it as if it were a glass. I feel that was totally unexpectable for various reasons: health codes, sanitary purposes, etc. I do not want to fill my cup up after a dog bowl touched it, nor eat at a table after a dogs head was on it. When she left, the person cleaning the table did not wipe it very well. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this place for sanitary purposes. read more
