We ordered the same breakfast and had 2 pancakes (large), 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs, a cinnamon roll, and hash browns. I'm hesitant to write a review for Rosie's because for years its been one of Sioux Falls' best kept secrets. A little cafe run by some great ladies that serves up the best home-style food you can find away from Grandma's house. Everyone I bring here leaves with a smile, not only because you can get lunch for under $6, but because the food, service, and conversation are that good. Rosie's has specials every day of the week ranging from baked chicken, to goulash and salmon loaf. They also have meatloaf, sandwiches and host of other dishes every day. Vegetable options also change daily. Save room for desert. Rosie's boasts an assortment of pies, bars, and crisps that is unparalleled. A la mode, with a cup of coffee is the best way to go in my opinion. Enjoy, but don't tell everyone! read more

This is a gem. Great breakfast food. The service was prompt and attentive. The waitress was very friendly and took very good care of us. We had the standard breakfast of Bacon and eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. The toast was crisp with a little butter, bacon was not too crisp or soft, eggs were cooked just right, and the coffee was fresh and hot. What else can I say about this? You should try it out for yourself. First impression? It's a very homey type place. Plenty of room for about 30 or so folks. We'll be back to try some other things. Just a couple of lunch items. Perhaps standard practices are different here. This is the first time I've ever entered a restaurant and left without ordering. I sat down, and the waitress came to "take my order." I told her I didn't know what they had, and she said "There's no menu. Our special is chipped beef on toast. Otherwise, it's make your own." In other words, it was apparently like a hotel breakfast: they put the fixins out, and you make of them what you will. I've never heard of such a thing at a restaurant. I stammered my apologies and told her I thought I'd pass. Can't speak for the quality of the food, but I'm amazed that a place that operates like this get such high marks from Yelpers. read more
