I was in town yesterday afternoon and I went to visit the store. When we arrived at about 4:10 pm, there was a sign on the door stating the store would reopen at 4:30 pm. However, by 4:40, there was still no one there to reopen the store. We had birthday money to blow, and I travelled 132 miles from where I am currently living in San Luis Obispo, and had the chance to get back to my hometown of Ventura. I was so eager to find something special that spoke to me, something that called for me to bring it home. The Journey Home But the shop was closed at 4 in the afternoon. I waited over a half hour, parked in front of a dark store with all the windows and the door so thickly smeared with oily fingerprints that it took many moments to even see the objects locked away inside that dark store. I did my shopping elsewhere and have already returned to San Luis's Obispo. I guess it was not the journey home after all. read more

My friend Cody and I came by on a Sunday, looking to add some crystals to our collection. I was specifically looking for a certain stone and I ended up with a lovely array, set at a reasonable price. The store has some beautiful jewelry and a great selection of crystals, incense and other incredible items. However, the best part of the experience was the staff specifically Luke (the owner) and Rona who was doing readings at the time. Luke was so patient and helped my friend and I with every single question we had. (I had a lot since my knowledge of crystals is limited). He never seemed annoyed and his knowledge was extensive. He was never pushy when explaining things and went above and beyond standard customer service. I told Rona I wasn't in the right mindset for a reading that day, but still very kind and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back to Journey Home. I had some questions about the jewelry and names/designers and the man behind the counter was able to answer them knowledgeably. Nice shop to browse around in even if you don't have something specific you're looking for. It's tidy, well lit and is floor to ceiling with interesting finds. The employees act disgruntled when they are asked to get a shoe out in another color. The manager overcharged my daughter who was paying with my credit card. When I questioned her on it she said it was a different shoe. I asked her how it was different from all the other shoes in that color that were priced lower than she charged her. She would not explain how. Only said it was a different shoe. True. Two shoes cannot be the same shoe. But the make and model were the same. And she was adding $5-10 extra. When I questioned her again she became rude and belligerent. She also made ad homonym remarks which were totally uncalled for. We returned the shoes but she was hostile through the whole thing and refused to admit she lied. I would never go there again. read more

Actually as far as a Metaphysical shop I don't know of a better one. As for the staff I have always has an excellent experience, people there a very knowledgeable. I personally want to give a woman named Nicole a very special "Thank You". I made a trip to the shop from Tehachapi to Ventura when I had mistakenly been told they would be open on a holiday, and they in fact were closed. I had left a message and put it thru the door that I was very disappointed. and actually kinda angry. Nicole went out of her way reached out to me, and very kindly gave me an opportunity to purchase some items that I had seen thru the window...ANd she gave me a discount!! and shipped to me free of charge....Now that is what I call EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

Awful experience. I went with my cousin to find candles and some crystals, there was a crowd of people. Staff was rude and uninviting, literally pushy. Staff never once said hello or asked if we needed assistance. Only ever asked if we were ready to check out multiple times when we had nothing in our hands?? One of the staff members pushed past my cousin to show another customer candles without an "excuse me" or an apology for literally making my cousin move for another customer when my cousin was standing there looking at candles herself. We may have even bought some if staff wasn't so rude. Other customers complained of getting headaches while being in the store. Terrible energy for a place that is supposed to provide spiritual cleansing. read more

I have been to Journey Home many times over the years and always loved their jewelry, crystals and readings. Today I am not sure I will return in the near future. The customer service is terrible, and even after I talked to the owner about my experience he didn't seem to care. I wouldn't recommend you have your readings there with Hope as she would not wear a mask in that tiny little room even after I asked her. I should have left right away and don't know why I didn't. I am a senior and felt very uncomfortable during the reading and sat as far away from her as I could. Her reading was very generic and no connection with me either. Shame on you, Journey Home for your lack of concern for your customer's safety and lack of customer service and even caring about your customers. read more
