I walked into JC and right away the staff and jeweler were so friendly and helped me get my eternity bands safely removed in less than 30 minutes and pain free. A massive jewelry store! Very nice employees... the ladies are eager to help! I went in to find out about having engraving done on a silver bracelet - they were helpful and wrote up my order and advised me that they send it out to an associate who does this work for them... Took about a week and it turned out nice! The only issue I had was when the lady took it out of the envelope to show it to me I noticed that the strip of silver beneath the engraving was dull and scratched? I asked why they didn't polish it up? She said "that wasn't written on the order" I said "I wasn't aware that I had to ask for that?" Why isn't that a given? It's like working on a dirty surface!?I wasn't aware I had to ask for that? She said she didn't understand why the gal who wrote up the order didn't write that in as well... I pointed out that this looks messy and incomplete and would really like it cleaned up so kindly she asked the jeweler if he could polish it up and he did, took less than a minute. It's absolutely beautiful! Check out my photo... I felt some disappointment at this service (or lack there of) to me it's like when you bring in a piece of jewelry in for repair (like a wedding ring) they always clean it beautifully when they're done. The engraving was $50 so I don't think it's too much to expect a finishing touch of cleaning it up nice. They had also quoted me to touch up the dulled prongs on my wedding ring, over $430 to do them all (come to find out only half of them needed it) I took it for a 2nd opinion quote at another local popular jewelry store and not only did they inform me of this but their price was significantly less and included a rhodium dip... Not sure I'd recommend Jewelry Couture? They seem a bit overpriced. read more

I had the prongs on my wedding ring "repaired" here and immediately had issues with the ring catching on clothing, my hair, linens, etc. when I received the ring back after service. I brought it back a few weeks later to see if anything could be done about the ring catching (it had never been a problem before) and the employee who inspected the ring said that there was "nothing" wrong with the work that had been done. Now getting a second opinion on the ring I have been quoted several hundred dollars for 1.) removing the gold from the shoddy repair and 2.) setting the diamond correctly back into the setting. I did speak with the owner regarding this issue, but they had stated that that they could not offer a refund for the work due to the time that had passed from the service and that they would like to repair the ring themselves. Understandable, though based on the photos of the work they had done, I did not trust them to repair appropriately and would not recommend any sort of repair work here. read more

This was my third adventure with Jewelry Couture Ventura. Previously, I was at a wedding and I saw a woman wearing a necklace that said "Love" on it. It was very classy and very cool and I asked her where she purchased it. She said Jewelry Couture. in Ventura. The next day I went and bought one for my girlfriend. I wasn't sure what I was looking for when I went into Jewelry Couture and I explained to them what I wanted and that the standard letters would not work. We had a great conversation and I decided that I would go home and come back with photos of the dancer's "arm lines" to reflect what I wanted this very special K to look like. We are Argentine Tango dancers. As soon as they understood, they created the most beautiful piece of jewelry that I could've ever expected. So when it came time for me to create a clasp for a medallion that I received after running the first Los Angeles Marathon back in 1986 of course I thought of Jewelry Couture in Ventura. Again, not knowing what I was looking I went into the store and asked for help! Madina was my first point of contact. I've run every Los Angeles Marathon all 39 in total and the 40th is coming March 16. Madina very quickly grasped how serious this medallion was for me and brought one of the owners over to talk with me. Shahar knew exactly what I needed! They put the clasp together for me and when completed I returned to the store to take a look. It was amazing. When I returned to the store to pick up my newly clasped medallion, Madina connected me with Sha Sehati. He was helping me along with Madina. They even added a copper coating to the medallion and helped me pick out an appropriate 14-karat gold chain. Let me start by saying, this is just my opinion based on my experience. What the Hell do I know. That was my first time in that building.....since I saw Star Wars when it first came out. I have no doubt if my situation was different, hands down 5 stars. Never in a bazillion years would I have thought this is where I'd be. Yet, here I am. I entered the building with less than $5 to my name. Been living in my car the past 5+ months. I'd been trying to get some information on a piece I had. Usually, given enough time, I can find anything in the internet. Not this time. These folks were kind enough to respond to a yelp request and invited me to come in. So I did. Everybody from the security guard at the door to anyone I spoke with was more than kind and willing to help. They have amazing things in that store. Customer service.....exceptional. Knowledge.....top notch. Again..::I know nothing so take this with a grain of salt and there's no doubt....given different circumstances....5 stars would be a no brainer. I figure a high end business like that, profits and beyond average and was hoping I'd be walking out with at least $40. They offered $10, which increased my net worth to about $15. I didn't have many options, so I took it I guess I was just hoping for something fair.... I'm guessing the profit margin for them will easily exceed 100%. It's hard not to feel like I was just bent over the barrel. But that's my situation and my reality. I'm at the mercy. This is the second business in Ventura where I've walked away feeling like just took one. The other....much worse than this. Very condescending about everything, offered insultingly low price for scrap gold (1/2 of what everyone would pay) and wanted to redo every piece of jewelry rather than make the small repairs requested. Went in with my SO to preview / window shop. I was greeted immediately at the door. I was taken back at how bright and clean it was inside. Additionally, there were a lot of employees which I will take as a good thing. Nobody was pushy, and that likely led us to feel comfortable in the store.
