STAY AWAY - SCAM Arroyo comes off as a genuine man, however, that is not the case. He will put on a front and will act as though what he's selling is genuine. I purchased a necklace and religious pendants, all of which, were not silver as he had mentioned. Take your business elsewhere and don't make the same mistake as me. read more

There is so much to say about this jewelry store and the owner. This is the worst place I have ever been to. We thought we were coming to a store were we could come and trust the owner with our jewelry but we were dead wrong!! We left a vintage 50 year old pendant with him so he could add a new bail. We specifically mentioned several times during our interaction DO NOT POLISH IT WHAT SO EVER. We like the vintage toned and paid a premium for the look. We picked it up and to our surprise our vintage toned piece was now so shiny you could see your reflection. We asked the owner what happened and he said well I guess they polished it and I asked what he was going to do to make this right as this was no longer the piece I cherished. He raised his hand and shooed me away because he had a customer come in. I was so upset as this was no longer my cherished piece but I was also a customer and he didn't want anything to do with me as he now had another victim. I let the person know that she should be aware of his practices. I told Him it would only be fair to have him replace my pendant and he accused me of scamming him when I showed him what they go for. He said money is the root of all evil. All I wanted was for him to fix his mistake but I have now filed through a small claims court. STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

IT'S A SCAM I am someone who invests in silver rings because I know they'll last a while, and be worn every day. When I went in they had a sign that said no returns or exchanges which should have been my first red flag, but still I continued. The clerk immediately promised me that everything was real silver in the store and for great prices (I wonder why). So I found a ring I liked and they fitted it for me. Not only a few hours later the ring had stained my finger because it was FAKE. No wonder they wouldn't want people returning their jewelry or they wouldn't be in business. I'm extremely disappointed I spent my money here and won't make that mistake again. It's a tourist trap - take your money elsewhere. read more

Haven't been in myself, but my BF (fiancé) presented me with an exquisite blue diamond encrusted ring for Christmas. It was so shiny and gleaming that I couldn't believe it was real! And I am good with my gems. I had it appraised and sure enough it is an authentic and gorgeously designed setting featuring five pretty good sized diamonds enhanced to the most delicate teal blue! Very impressed with the quality. I can't wait to wear my other gift, a thick sliver banded bangle. I was told by BF they also repair broken jewelry. Homophobic, would not recommend taking your business there. Super disrespectful it was saddening. While two men left the store my partner and I stayed behind looking around, the owner then thought it was okay to say that you never know now a days, I asked to clarify you never know what? He proceeded to say whether the two men were a couple. He proceeded to say that was bad after I said and so what if they were nothing wrong with that. I brought my antique Mother's Ring to be resized, rhodium plating and add a missing diamond. He brought my mother's ring back to life. It's exactly like I remember it on her finger. IT'S PERFECT!! This place was well worth the drive. I had a very important Rosary neckelas that I went to several place and said they can not fix it. I was up set. So when I went down to Ventura to vist my grandma I looked all around for some where to fix my rosary. I went to several shops again and no one wanted to fix it. Intill they told me about this place called Arroyos. So I went in and Arroyo looked at it and he told he have it done in 20 min. I was so happy. He is the man. On saturday I went to pickup 3 items that I left at Arroyo's Fine Jewelers weeks ago, come to realize that my stuff was not there anymore. Jesus Arroyo the owner of the store looked at me and started taking about the robbery, he said to me "well they took everything and I lost 2 million dollars". (Police reports stated that the robbers took items in the display cases but my things were being repaired, that is usually in the back). When i asked him about the insurance he said " I bearly make money to maintain this store". I started to get very emotional and I asked him what are the other customers that lost there belonging doing? He said NOTHING what can I do... I was robbed. No apologies and no sympathy, he was completely rude and just didn't care about making things right with me. Another customer came in and he looked at me and said " well? What do you want me to do? " as if to rush me out of the store. Well mister arroyo you could at least show more respect for the people that trust you with there stuff, the fact that you have no insurance is ridiculous because now you owe all the customers that lost there belonging moneys. By law as a jewlary store you are required to have insurance. You created a go fund me page and they did a fundraiser for your loss, are you going to pay the customers with that money?. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Arroyo's Fine Jewelers. We were in Ventura from the east coast for our grandchild's birth. I packed a favorite necklace that I wanted to wear that my daughter gave me. In the suitcase, it became horribly tangled in knots. We walked into the shop and Jesus and another gentleman worked on the chain for over 45 minutes, encouraging us all the way that it was no problem. When I asked about the repair cost, he smiled and said there was no cost; he was happy to do it! We gave our daughter's family his card with the highest recommendation. I have a pair of earrings I love. They are my everyday earrings, small hoops with a crooked wire that latches in a small notch. They are only department store quality, but they are 14k, which my sensitive skin needs. The wire is delicate, and regularly but not frequently breaks off. I had them repaired at the high end jeweler, and it cost me $80! Last estimate was $100, and I could not swallow that. Went out and even bought another pair for less than that. Flimsy, not the same. I took the broken earring to another jeweler downtown, and the estimate was ok, but then the goldsmith said he could not do the job! Unfortunately it took months for me to get the information and collect the broken earring. Then I found Arroyo, through Yelp, which is right across from the Mission. Small shop, and the repair guy was right on premises. Estimate was a quarter of the high priced spread! Said they would call when ready. Before I got home that afternoon, there was a VM saying they were ready! They not only repaired the whole wire-notch mechanism on my broken earring, they replaced the other one too! I bought a pair of 14k earring backs too, and the owner apologized that he could no longer give them for free, because of his cost. I thought he was fair and accommodating. They have beautiful things onsite. I was very pleased with my experience, and I give them five stars for any fine jewelry repairs. They were prompt, fair, and professional. read more
