Our trip started a little rough on the first day due to delayed airplane and the inability to use our phones (Cell supplier issues). Once we reached our first hotel and were able to contact Ian, everything improved greatly. Ian planned a stay at Ballyseede Castle in Tralee on our anniversary and it was so very lovely. Did the entire trip go off without a hitch? no. There were a few bumps (none of which were major)--but when we hit a bump, Ian was there to help us figure it out--Once, the solution turned into an unexpected amazing experience! There are some things I will change next time, but that's a matter of personal preference. Ian did a wonderful job creating a relationship with us in order to give us the best experience possible. I definitely recommend using Go Irish Tours. We will use them again.

We promptly left her a deposit and booked our flights. A couple of days later, Aoife sent over a convoluted payment request. Since then we have not heard back from her. Our group has left numerous messages, emails phone calls etc to no avail. After a little digging, I found out they are owned by a private equity firm. https://dgventureslimited.com/brand/. As you can see, They go by several different domaine names. When we booked, our CC charge was listed as "GoIreland" which has horrendous reviews. I can't believe that 'Go Iceland" can have so many good reviews on Trust pilot (maybe bots?). They have yet to responded to my request to refund my $1000 deposit. We filled a clam with Visa. I contacted the Sheraton and they were no help. Fortunately, I kept searching and found this extraordinary tour company! We had four packed days of custom tours all over Ireland with our guide/owner, Geoff. Our family has traveled all over the world and this was the most outstanding tour company with whom we have ever worked. The prices were so reasonable and Geoff went out of his way to make sure that we saw even the most remote, but worthy sites. Our teenage boys thought the world of him. We were so sorry to say good-by when he finally dropped us off in Dublin. Now we would not hestiate to return to Athlone (which is off the beaten path) solely because of Geoff and Midlands Tours.

We also appreciated not having to drive ourselves everywhere; it made the trip so much easier! The downside to not driving ourselves was being on someone else's schedule. We really could've used another hour in Kilkenny; if we could change anything, we would skip the walking tour to have more time in Kilkenny Castle and exploring more of the city. Also, the WiFi on the buses barely, if ever, worked. That's not a huge deal, except we were really trying to rely on WiFi and not paying extra for our cellular network while we were abroad.

On the way, we had some bus trouble, which was unfortunate, but I will certainly not blame that on Irish Day Tours. In fact, I want to give them praise for the driver's attentiveness, making sure the passengers were safe, and the company being expedient in getting a new bus out to accommodate the rest of the tour. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sights I have ever laid my eyes on and we were blessed with great weather on this particular day. Sunny and not too windy (our visit was at the end of February but not sure how typical this is for that time of year). I believe we were allotted 1.5-2 hours at the Cliffs which we enjoyed every minute of. The stop in Doolin for lunch was charming and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to serve us. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience Galway on our tour due to the technical difficulties but I appreciate them being mindful of the schedule. I want to give particular praise to our driver and guide Kevin, who was absolutely fantastic in not only getting us there and back safely but is full of fascinating information on Ireland's history. He sang a song or 2 along the way but he couldn't answer any of the questions asked and barely spoke. He dropped us at stops going in blindly. He was an older gentleman, so I understand the low energy but perhaps time to hang up his hat. As first timers to Ireland, I chose the Dark Hedges/Giants Causeway/Belfast tour because I was infatuated by photos of the Dark Hedges I saw online. I had no idea it looked NOTHING like it. It was really a waste of a stop. Giants Causeway was nice.. great photo op. It's a long walk downhill, then back up. Luckily, there was a bus that operates both ways for £1 (tap cards accepted ). We heard there was opihi in Belfast and found some along the way (we're from Hawaii). Super windy that day so we were getting flown all over the rocks. Only stop on the tour that was worth it. Next stop, Belfast City Centre. The tour guy dropped us off near City Hall with absolutely no direction. He told us about a mall nearby, but that's it. Anything worth seeing was already closed. I really wished he would've gave us more recommendations about what to do, where to eat, or anything worth seeing in the short amount of time we had there. After walking around City Hall, we walked to the mall to use the bathroom, stopped at a souvenir shop, then headed back. Total waste of time, again. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! Sadiy, I purchased the tickets for this tour after the price had gone up about €10 from their 2025 prices. Tour was also supposed to end at 8pm but we got back by 7pm because he kept rushing us. Leaving early from stops. Felt rushed the whole time. I feel it was a total waste of money that could've been used elsewhere.
