The cliffs were very very busy so not enough time to do it all and eat and go to the toilet. We walked half and opted to eat. The bathroom lines are very long, no fault of the tour. Our guide and driver were professional and mostly kind. We learned a lot about Irish history from Aaron and felt safe being driven by Stipe. I would have liked to know more about some of the specific things/places we saw as we saw them while driving in the country (I.e. ruins, stone walls, interesting mountains, the beaches, or the little walls) but in return learned so much about Ireland and its rich history. We also appreciated not having to drive ourselves everywhere; it made the trip so much easier! The downside to not driving ourselves was being on someone else's schedule. We really could've used another hour in Kilkenny; if we could change anything, we would skip the walking tour to have more time in Kilkenny Castle and exploring more of the city. Also, the WiFi on the buses barely, if ever, worked. That's not a huge deal, except we were really trying to rely on WiFi and not paying extra for our cellular network while we were abroad.

On the way, we had some bus trouble, which was unfortunate, but I will certainly not blame that on Irish Day Tours. In fact, I want to give them praise for the driver's attentiveness, making sure the passengers were safe, and the company being expedient in getting a new bus out to accommodate the rest of the tour. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sights I have ever laid my eyes on and we were blessed with great weather on this particular day. Sunny and not too windy (our visit was at the end of February but not sure how typical this is for that time of year). I believe we were allotted 1.5-2 hours at the Cliffs which we enjoyed every minute of. The stop in Doolin for lunch was charming and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to serve us. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience Galway on our tour due to the technical difficulties but I appreciate them being mindful of the schedule. I want to give particular praise to our driver and guide Kevin, who was absolutely fantastic in not only getting us there and back safely but is full of fascinating information on Ireland's history. As we continued to learn about Ireland over the course of the rest of our trip, I found myself wanting to ask Kevin his opinion on many topics. Thank you Kevin and IDT!

This tour was a flop! Our tour guide talked for the first 5mins of the tour, then we were on our…read moreown. He sang a song or 2 along the way but he couldn't answer any of the questions asked and barely spoke. He dropped us at stops going in blindly. He was an older gentleman, so I understand the low energy but perhaps time to hang up his hat. As first timers to Ireland, I chose the Dark Hedges/Giants Causeway/Belfast tour because I was infatuated by photos of the Dark Hedges I saw online. I had no idea it looked NOTHING like it. It was really a waste of a stop. Giants Causeway was nice.. great photo op. It's a long walk downhill, then back up. Luckily, there was a bus that operates both ways for £1 (tap cards accepted ). We heard there was opihi in Belfast and found some along the way (we're from Hawaii). Super windy that day so we were getting flown all over the rocks. Only stop on the tour that was worth it. Next stop, Belfast City Centre. The tour guy dropped us off near City Hall with absolutely no direction. He told us about a mall nearby, but that's it. Anything worth seeing was already closed. I really wished he would've gave us more recommendations about what to do, where to eat, or anything worth seeing in the short amount of time we had there. After walking around City Hall, we walked to the mall to use the bathroom, stopped at a souvenir shop, then headed back. Total waste of time, again. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! Sadiy, I purchased the tickets for this tour after the price had gone up about €10 from their 2025 prices. Tour was also supposed to end at 8pm but we got back by 7pm because he kept rushing us. Leaving early from stops. Felt rushed the whole time. I feel it was a total waste of money that could've been used elsewhere.

He took us to places we would never have known of. The Ringfinnan Garden of Remembrance to honor the NYFD firefighters from 911 is just one of many. He shared the history and culture of Ireland and even got us on a ballfield to learn a wee bit about hurling! We will always remember Dermot for his genuine kindness and love. Dermot O'Connor (Owner) is well versed in the history and geography of Ireland, and shared information about every site that we visited. He is witty and funny, and so professional and honest. Our trip to Ireland would not have had the depth of experience nor the fun and magic if we had opted for a larger tour, or driven ourselves. There is just no way that we could have packed our time with all the sites and places we went to, and enjoyed so much in a relaxed tour with a gifted tour guide and driver. I contacted the Sheraton and they were no help. Fortunately, I kept searching and found this extraordinary tour company! We had four packed days of custom tours all over Ireland with our guide/owner, Geoff. Our family has traveled all over the world and this was the most outstanding tour company with whom we have ever worked. The prices were so reasonable and Geoff went out of his way to make sure that we saw even the most remote, but worthy sites. Our teenage boys thought the world of him. We were so sorry to say good-by when he finally dropped us off in Dublin. Now we would not hestiate to return to Athlone (which is off the beaten path) solely because of Geoff and Midlands Tours.

Our trip started a little rough on the first day due to delayed airplane and the inability to use our phones (Cell supplier issues). Once we reached our first hotel and were able to contact Ian, everything improved greatly. Ian planned a stay at Ballyseede Castle in Tralee on our anniversary and it was so very lovely. Did the entire trip go off without a hitch? no. There were a few bumps (none of which were major)--but when we hit a bump, Ian was there to help us figure it out--Once, the solution turned into an unexpected amazing experience! There are some things I will change next time, but that's a matter of personal preference. Ian did a wonderful job creating a relationship with us in order to give us the best experience possible.
