I was on the fence about maternity photos but didn't want to regret not having them done - worth noting my engagement photo and wedding photo experience was atrocious, so it was hard to commit to doing this. But I figured I could get them done and if I hated them, could put them in a drawer (or obscure folder on computer) and if I liked them, then hooray! I am delighted to say this was a hooray! Jessica answered the million questions I had before I scheduled with her and made me feel really comfortable that I had made a good choice in photographer before even meeting her in person. She is incredibly sweet and in person definitely made me and my husband feel comfortable during the shoot (we aren't exactly picture type people and generally aren't about having our photos taken), so this was huge for us. It was an actually enjoyable experience. Scheduling was easy and so was communication. Turnaround on proofs and final photos were timely. Pricing is on point and I absolutely appreciate that she was one of the few photographers for maternity and newborn I could find that doesn't force you into a heinously expensive package with order minimums. I bring this up because it was a strong consideration for me when looking for a photographer. I didn't and still don't feel the need to spend $500 on printed photos when I really only want or need a 2-3 hardcopies for my mantle and like having the rest safe digitally and can share with far away family that way (via email/ social media). That said, if you want prints, Jessica can handle that! The photos turned out wonderful and will most decidedly not be being put in a drawer/ obscure folder to be forgotten. I won't hesitate to go to Jessica for my newborn photos and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to you yelpers. read more

Jessica is amazing with babies. We have a very temperamental baby on our hands and we didn't know how he would do but she's like a baby whisperer. Would definitely recommend her, especially if you're in the loop and not wanting to travel far with a small one. She also has beautiful dresses to wear that come with certain packages. We've used her twice now and will likely use her in the future. She's very nice and easy to work with. read more

Not only is Jessica a wonderful photographer, but she is one of the most patient, friendly, and sweetest people you will ever meet. Having been to other photographers in the past, Jessica has a way of making you and your family feel like more than just another customer. Her motherly touch, calmed and soothed my newborn throughout her shoot, which has resulted in my family returning  for photos on 5 different occasions, within the last year and a half (each experience being just as wonderful as the first). I can't recommend Jessica enough. I called her last minute, like the last second and she made time for my baby and I's fresh 48. Not only is she flexible but she is so professional and very VERY accommodating. I told her what I want the night before our newborn shoot and she went to get every prop early (6am) in the morning before our shoot. If that isn't going the extra mile to make sure my memories of my baby girl is perfect, what is? Don't doubt her work! It speaks for itself! I will try to keep it short but Jessica is such a phenomenal photographer that it might be hard! We had the pleasure of working with her 3 times already. We did my daughters newborn session, first time with Santa and here recently her 1st birthday pictures. I'm not going anywhere else because her work never fails me. She is extremely talented and loves working with babies. After the newborn session we kind of wished we could bring her home to put my baby girl asleep as fast as she did at the studio!! Jessica is amazing I cant say enough good things about her! we've been working with her for almost 2 and half years. From our first newborn session after five minutes in I knew she would be our go to family photographer. She was so kind and sweet and loving to my itty bitty baby, she made sure me and my husband sat back and relaxed while she cooed and rocked until my daughter was in the most peaceful sleep I had ever seen. Every session she listens to me and helps me plan out everything from background to props or wardrobe even bringing options from her own daughters closet once when I couldn't find the right look and accessories for my little girls 1st birthday photos. She blows my expectations out the water even when my girl is a total grouch monster and I leave a session wondering if she even smiled and sat still for one good photo here comes Jessica to save the day with so many beautiful pictures. Outstanding photographer!!!! My husband and I were looking for a photographer in the Houston area. When we can across Joyful sound photography, we were impressed by her work and decided to book her for our maternity shoot. She was very professional and responsive to my emails and endless questions. She gave positive feedback and personally hand picked our location to fit our vision. She gave direction well during the shoot and had a keen eye for perfection. We were blown away at how beautiful the pictures came out.
