I want to give a HUGE thank you to Lisa and Chris, the owners of Love Dance Houston! I was supposed to host my son's first birthday at Love Dance Houston. The venue is pretty amazing with its tall ceilings, unique light structures, and great location. Lisa and Chris are not only easy to work with, they also have chairs and tables to host numerous people. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, we had to cancel the event a week before. Despite the contract not having a refund clause, Lisa worked with us to reschedule our event or offered us dance classes at the studio as a courtesy. Theses dance classes have been nothing short of amazing! It has been such a fun experience. Agne, our instructor, is very patient and a great teacher. We initially visited Love Dance HTX as a possible rehearsal luncheon venue, and then also ended up signing up for a wedding dance package. This ended up being one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning! Lisa was incredibly patient, kind and so much fun, and helped to choreograph and teach us a beautiful dance to go along with our wedding song. My partner and I are such awkward dancers, we were nervous going into it, but we absolutely loved our dance lessons! They made for a fun, safe date night during the times of COVID, and we ended up feeling confident with our dancing going into the wedding day. Bethany was an amazing choreographer for our wedding first dance. I didn't know what to expect but she made it easy and fun to learn everything. My fiance and I found Love Dance HTX after our lessons at another dance studio fell through... and we are so lucky that they did. Lisa was amazing! Our lessons were such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. She helped us get comfortable with the steps and look natural doing so. We chose an unconventional first dance song and she had no trouble creating a beautifully choreographed number that incorporated a wide variety of moves without being too complicated to learn. We ended up getting the 10 lesson package out of fear that there was no way we would be able to pull off our first dance. We should not have worried. Bethany was our instructor and she was absolutely phenomenal!! She is so nice, supportive, fun, and energetic!! She knows how to provide constructive feedback and still make us feel like rockstars! I recently worked with the amazing folks at Love Dance Houston to host an event in their beautiful space. I can't begin to say how great this experience was. First, as I said, their space is beautiful. It's built to be a dance space, but transformed in the evening for us to host our event/forum. We stationed a registration table in the pathway near the entrance, we had a place for folks to pick up a boxed dinner, and set up the chairs like an auditorium. The space lent so much to the event. People couldn't stop talking about how nice it was, especially their shiny wood floor. What makes it extra exciting is their location in Sawyer Yards. Their door opens onto the parking lot and they are right in the middle of the mural wall. People spent so much time taking pictures around he murals and inside the venue. Insta pics for days! If you are considering having an event here, you should do it. It's a great new option for those of us that host events regularly or for someone wanting to have a special place for their special moment. We were planning our wedding and didn't even want to do a dance because it wasn't "us" but we decided to have a First dance, the memories, and a wedding song. Then of course, the mother of the groom wanted dance lessons, and so did my dad. We wanted to make sure we had some kind of foundation for our special night- since we have NEVER danced before. From the the beginning phone call, Lisa and Chris were so welcoming, upbeat and easy to understand and learn from. We all have signature moves to show off my dress and to show off our hard work. For that read reviews, I obviously don't do many so it's either really bad when I write one or I was thoroughly impressed to take the time to do so...this place was obviously the latter. If you ever even thought about taking a dance class or even just to make it a fun date night you don't need a hint of experience to come and enjoy this place. The owners are amazing and make everyone feel super comfortable and most of all they make if fun! You can bring your own wine or beer and if you happen to not bring any and decide you need to loosen up Lisa is always happy to accommodate with a glass of wine! Now for the part of the actual "dance" lesson(s)...you keep your partner the whole time so there's no switching here and almost every class is small which makes it great considering you also get a little more attention from the instructor. Don't let that scare you though, they are extremely considerate and know how to make the newest or most experienced individual feel great about the moves they are showing them. For those of you getting engaged and need to (or want to) learn a wedding dance, they host a class twice a month that you'll absolutely enjoy! It caters to engaged couples of course but anyone is welcome to attend. You'll walk away just after one of these classes feeling like you could nail a dance that you haven't seen any other couple do at a wedding before...I'm not joking. This one gets a little more of a crowd but the room is huge and there's always plenty of room! In short you need to check this place out, it's the PERFECT date night spot and definitely a top pick for anyone who wants to learn to dance or just enjoy a night of doing something different. My husband and I lagged and came for 5 classes the 5 weeks leading up to our wedding. Pretty nerve wrecking! However, Lisa made it such a fun and great experience. We had a full routine by the end of the second class and had it together when the big day came. She taught us how to be comfortable in each others arms and to trust! My husband and I were looking for dance lessons for our wedding and we are so glad we found Lisa and her husband Chris! We went to their Wedding Prep 101 class, which is a group class where you learn basic moves. While the class was great and very helpful, my husband and I are not great at dancing and needed way more help than we could get from a group class, especially with a first dance song that had a strange rhythm to it. We ended up booking a private dance lesson and Lisa built the choreography to our song during the lesson, with our feedback of course. The private dance lesson also came with another group class. When we went to the second group class, we got to practice our dance and we even ended up changing it in response to what we learned during the class. Love Dance Houston has been a wonderful place for my bride and I to practice dancing lessons for our wedding ceremony. Lisa and Agna are wonderful dance instructors and they have been terrific for my fiancé and I. My fiancé is a pretty good dancer, but I was terrible and had no background or dancing experience whatsoever before our lessons. We have had five sessions now and with minimal outside practice, we have the entire song down to a drill and we can't wait to do the real dance obviously. Love dance Houston has BYOB sessions and it is a fantastic date night for your man or lady. I highly recommend this place without reservation. I am so grateful we decided to take dance lessons for our wedding. To start off, my husband and I are NOT dancers. We are athletic, and are sometimes coordinated, but aren't blessed in the rhythm department. We wanted to do something special and memorable, not just shuffle around the dance floor for 3-5 min while everyone looked bored. So, we signed up for the Wedding Package plan and took 5 lessons with Agne, plus one Wedding Prep 101 class with Lisa and Chris. Agne choreographed a beautiful first dance to our chosen song, "You are the Reason" by Calum Scott. The first few lessons took us out of our comfort zone, but we were able to catch on and memorize the dance. Agne was patient with us but also challenged us, and the end result was great. We were set and ready to go in March 2020, but then Covid put a wrench in our plans... Fast forward to September 2020 when we had our reception. We didn't practice at all for the 6 months between our ceremony and reception. The night before, we literally practiced the dance 4 or 5 times, start to finish (all based on recall; we didn't even have the moves written down, or a full video of it for reference). We were pleasantly surprised when we got down the steps with ease. For our official first dance, we pulled it off seamlessly, including the impressive-looking lift. Our gym friends were especially impressed. It was definitely the most "magical" moment of the night, captured with one of our favorite pics of the night. Absolutely loved the experience with each lesson. My wife and I had lessons before our wedding came up and we never once danced together but after all the lessons we were very confident and our first dance went amazingly well! I was surprised our first meet up to talk about package deals and cost ended up with our song being played and jumping right into it to get a feel of what she had planned for us on our song at no charge. The instructor is the best and knew how to break everything down and the room was very nice and spacious. She made us feel very comfortable and I think each lesson got better and better which means she did her job and we actually learned a lot and loved our experience. I really liked the atmosphere and the wedding prep classes and we recently went to the customer appreciation night for country dancing at no cost with small bites and wine which was amazing!
