Just be aware that if you make an appointment, they will tell you that they have people and can accommodate but when you show up, that may not be the case. They only had one person for the three of us, I ended up just having my girls get their very first pedicure but had to cancel all of my services and their finger polish. Came her with my best-friend to walk around the town. We originally went to the place across the street but the atmosphere wasn't very nice there. So we came to joy best decision ever we got a 10 dollar discount because we are kids. Very family friendly and very welcoming. I love Joy's. I work in the area and the owner is always sure to ask if I'm there on my lunch hour so they can get me in and out on time. I've visited other salons closer to my house, but just keep coming back to Joy's because no one else does such a thorough pedicure with such a relaxing leg and foot massage. Their massaging pedicure chairs are to die for, and they always have oodles of good magazines to choose from if you forget to bring your own reading material. Just a note to another reviewer - they ask you to pay before applying the final polish so you don't mess up your nails digging around in your purse afterwards, not because they think you're going to skip out on the bill. Joys Nails is thoroughly professional but friendly and talented. I have been going to them for years and always have those gels that last for three weeks! Whether its gels, manicures, brows, pedicures or massages ... they can do it all and well. Parking can get antsy will a long appointment (2 hour parking limits) but the staff even watches out for your car and will rush out and add a quarter or two just for you! Made an appointment to get mani pedi, walked in and attended to me promptly. Walking into the shop there was a friendly, and positive attitude among all staff members. Pedi service was excellent, relaxing and professional. Mani was just as pleasing, added touch was a nice neck and shoulder massage after all services. I was at joys nails today. We all got pedicures. It was a Girls Day Out. I was very impressed and so was my sister my daughter and my niece. The place was really clean. The staff was nice and helpful and patient while we all picked out colors. They fit us all in with no appointments and they were professional and the experience was quiet and relaxing. Soothing music. Comfortable Massage lounge chairs. Whirlpool foot bath. Nice hot towels. And a great color selection. We even got neck massages as our toes were drying. I would give this place an excellent rating. Any one who comes here will be immensely pleased. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. read more

Guy that did my pedicure was great. However, the owner did a really shoddy job on my manicure... did not even take the old polish off all the way, no hand massage or anything, and kept stepping away to attend to other customers as they walked in the door. I'd rather have waited for another staff member to finish so that they could at least give me their full attention while they were doing my nails. And I had an appointment... which apparently means nothing, as walk in customers were attended to immediately while she rushed to finish my manicure in between. Also kept pushing the shellac/gel manicure even though I said "no" at least 3 times. Considered giving two stars only because the aloe plant was a nice touch. Had I been offered green tea or water or anything, that may have bumped it up to the full two stars, but alas I was not. Also - and this may be more the fault of the old, poor quality nail polish they had, rather than the staff themselves, but still - my toenails smudged terribly even though I sat for an extra 20 minutes or so after my manicure was finished to let them fully dry. And I wore flip flops the rest of the day. Maybe my toes had been smudged immediately by staff and I didn't notice at the time. I didn't bother to inspect my nails at the time My fingernails had a chip (on my left hand, nonetheless - and I'm right-handed) within 2-3 HOURS. I usually go about a week after a manicure (or heck... painting my nails myself) before getting a single chip. Had to take the polish off my nails AND toes less than 24 hours after leaving the salon, because it looked terrible. Owner left my nails uneven and misshapen - a fault that may have been avoided had she bothered to pay any attention while she was intermittently doing my nails. Rather over-priced, especially for what you're getting. They also try to charge you an extra $10 for "callus removal" - aka, using a file on foot calluses, as is standard with every pedicure I've ever gotten in my life. Not worth it. I regret tipping as well as I did, or maybe even at all. Bottom line: Would absolutely not return, and would advise others to stay away as well. Just paint your nails yourself. You'll be far better off. read more
