We loved what they'd done with a number of houses on our block, and they did a wonderful job on our house as well, handling plumbing (better and cheaper than a plumber we had brought out), plaster teardown, electrical & lighting, framing, and some roof work. Dave and his team, led by Cesar, were very quick to get things moving, worked with us throughout the buildout to ensure we were satisfied, and also kept us aware of any changes / improvements we could make along the way. Very reliable, great communication via email, text, phone calls, and ability to drop by and discuss the work. Top notch work quality, and as a result we added on several other projects. Would definitely plan on using SDC again in the future.

Colleen and the Redbird team quickly helped us create a new floor plan to maximize space in our primary bathroom, plus pull and replace designs for two more bathrooms. They got to know our personal style, created design concepts that we loved, connected us with a contractor, and helped us navigate supply chain issues. The result: bathrooms that are beautiful, functional, easy to clean, and within budget.

She has a great eye for design and color and is easy to talk to and personable-- this was especially important to me since I wanted to work with someone that I can "click" with. There are tons of design options out there and I can easily spend multiple days just trying to pick out a single piece of furniture, let alone trying to make it look good and work with an entire room, so Colleen's services are invaluable. I just let her and her team do the hard work of putting together color palettes, layouts and mood boards and I tweak little details to my liking if I want. My entire house now looks instagrammable (can't help but notice how good rooms look in the background when I take pictures of the kids around the house) and I'm enjoying its looks as well as function every single day thanks to Colleen and RedBird!

The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. All in all, I highly recommend them and they will be my first call next time I have a project!

They do not…read morefollow DC guidelines...they destroy the aesthetics of tree-lined streets with their equipment and trash. Once neighbors complained, they finally brought out smaller equipment and continued their work. They could have easily avoided smashing into and breaking large limbs/branches before the complaints, by using the proper equipment from the beginning. They leave blocks and blocks of DC residential neighborhoods looking like trash. Expired parking permits, excavated dirt and debris, old caution tape, and their personal trash, cigarette butts, and tree limbs now line many DC streets they've been "worked" on. And if you see this crew ahead, be sure to drive, bike, or walk with extra caution as there have been many documented examples of them not using people to direct (stop/slow) traffic when the road is pinched down to one lane and they leave trip hazards along the sidewalk, e.g., tree limbs, fencing, their tools and debris, etc. Just another example of greedy corporations like Pepco contracting greedy LLC's like Anchor to do crap work so they all can cash in at our expense.

He asked key questions that helped better shape the ideas, took the necessary measurements, then followed up in short order with a clear proposal and quote. The pricing was competitive and within our budget. Once we decided to move forward, the team delivered on the carpentry faster than we expected. Max and the team who did the carpentry were friendly and understanding of two tired parents who had to work in the house through the day. The work they performed was impeccable.
