Amazing contractor!!! Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. Three months ago my boyfriend and I bought a townhouse in Arlington and decided to be like Chip and Joanna Gaines and renovate it ourselves. "Who needs a contractor?"- I asked myself, as I gleefully found a handyman who could 'do it all'. Fast forward two weeks, our new roof looked like s*%#, the demo work that was done caused leaks all over the house, and I was FREAKING OUT. I found Lawrence's company on Yelp and called him immediately. Lawrence and his team surpassed our expectations. They were highly professional, detail oriented, timely and great value for money. Our project consisted of a kitchen renovation for which we used Siematic cabinetry and Miele / SubZero appliances. We hired L&R to finish our low-ceiling unfinished basement and movie theater. The quality of their work is amazing, and they finished the entire project in about 3-4 weeks. Work included: tear down/open two walls (one w/ LVL install), moving electrical main, redoing kitchen (layout change), new hardwood throughout (incl stairs, rail), paint, and a few electrical moves. We hired Lawrence and his team after a recent flood in July. They took over for another contracting company that we felt was charging way too much. Lawrence was very professional and responded quickly to what we needed. His prices were very fair. They did our hardwood floors, drywall, and painting for our living room, den, and dining area. My husband and I are so glad we found Lawrence and HIGHLY recommend him. From the beginning to the end of our project, Lawrence was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive, he communicated well with us, he genuinely wanted to ensure that we were happy throughout the process, and he and Carlos did excellent work. We are extremely happy with how everything came out! Lawrence is a really nice guy. He was very up-front when we met with him to discuss our project and was not pushy at all. Before we found Lawrence, we had met with 5 different contractors and were beginning to get stressed out because these contractors were either very evasive about giving estimates or were giving us exorbitant estimates. We found that many contractors in the area don't want to take on projects that are too small. Lawrence happily took on our basement project and eased our stress. His estimate was considerably less expensive than the other 5 estimates we had received. We had some flooding in our basement last summer due to the heavy rain and ended up getting our basement waterproofed with a french drain and sump pump. The drain runs alongside one of our basement walls. In order for the waterproofing company to do the work, we had to remove everything from that side (a granite kitchenette, tub, stair landing, and tile entrance). Lawrence removed and reinstalled the kitchenette (sink, granite countertop, cabinets), removed our tub and replaced it with a cast iron tub, removed and reinstalled the basement stair landing, and replaced the entry way with tiles. He replaced the dry wall and baseboards and restored our basement so that you wouldn't be able to tell that it had been completely torn up. Lawrence also graciously insulated the shower drain pipe in our master bedroom and painted a bedroom upstairs. Lawrence truly takes pride in his work. He took his time to ensure that everything turned out extremely well. We couldn't be happier with our experience with him and will definitely be reaching out to him again if we have anymore home projects. read more

After dealing with some nightmare home renovation projects, it's been a breath of fresh air to work with Lawrence on my kitchen and bathroom counters. What I liked best about Lawrence is that he really listened to the vision I had for my kitchen counters. I liked the look of concrete but thought it was silly to get concrete for my small condo kitchen (eventual goals) and he came back from his granite guy with an awesome sample that fulfilled the look I was going for. I LOVE the result - the counters in my condo look amazing and the product he recommended is top notch. His rates are very reasonable and he's been extremely responsive about any minor issues that have come up. He listens to concerns and is accountable for his work, which is sadly, hard to find. My wife and I had been looking for a contractor to do our bathroom in our condo for a long time. It wasn't anything too special. Just a 5'×8' condo bathroom that needed an update. We were very set on the colors, quality, and type of materials that we wanted and had a pretty strict budget. We got a few contractors to come by and give us estimates to do the work and we were not very impressed. Everyone was either way too expensive, or way too pushy. But when Lawrence came to look at it, he sat down and discussed our design with us (which was a first for us). He looked at what colors we wanted, what materials we had decided on, and talked about a budget. To our surprise, he didn't give us an estimate right then and there, he went home and called a few days later to set up another appointment. At this meeting, he brought an actual DESIGN of our bathroom! We were kind of taken back by it because we already had a design in mind, but it was nice to see everything in front of us and play around with some colors and other options that really changed our outlook on the whole project. SOLD! The project starts and the guys work really well. It's a small place and we have a dog and a cat, so we were obviously nervous about a lot of trash and people around our place. Nope. Instead, a small crew showed up, taped off the bathroom from the rest of the house to keep dust contained, and worked hard to keep the project moving and the rest of our place clean. We did run into a few problems along the way that Lawrence didn't expect and that did add a couple days to the project, (plumbing issue with our building), but they worked with our HOA and got everything back on track. Bottom line: Initial meeting was good, second meeting was great, they kept to our budget with no surprise bills, and delivered a clean result that we are very happy with. They gave me a roof quote, but I had to continually call them to get info. I signed the contraceptive and they ended up doing a terrible job. The shingles were not even with the roof edge and the gutters were not level. Then they said they would fix the work, but never got back to me. I do not recommend them at all. read more
