One of top 3 beaches to visit in Corpus. Don't be duped in to thinking this is famous South Padre. This is just Padre Island/Mustang Island. Also don't think that the beaches near the hotels are the best either since those are mainly for the tourists. Come here or to Port Aransas or to the Bali Surf Park. Be careful when parking on the beach, try to stay where it's been compacted other wise you'll get stuck. Which means parking a little further way from the beach. Yes it sucks to have to walk back to your car through hot sand but it's better then have to push it out with your flip flops on. Believe it or not even trucks can get stuck. Great beach! Love the atmosphere and cleanliness of the beach. Still we have to do our part to keep it that way.

And be sure to grab a yellow trash bag at the beach entrance (either people posted up there handing them out, or they can be found by the bathrooms near the jetty).

TLDR: Very family-friendly beach with super shallow and calm water plus a playground. $10 daily…read morefee, $40 per year. This beach is perfect for kids, especially toddlers. The water is super shallow (saw people going super far and it was still only up to their knees) and very calm. The sand in the water is also soft and free of rocks (my kids took off their water shoes). The water was warm (end of July) and pretty clean (not clear). It was really clean on the first day we visited and two days later, some seaweed floated in. Ocean conditions change obviously but it was never unpleasant. There's a playground on the beach although we didn't actually go to check it out. $10 daily fee ($40 per year so if you're here for a week or something, consider upgrading to save). It gets crowded on weekends (naturally) so arrive early to secure a parking spot (before 10am is usually a good call). They have indoor bathrooms and showers. Loved this beach! Perfect for a calm beach experience. If you're looking for waves, go to Port Aransas.

The water was clear enough to see our feet (definitely not Galveston!), and the shallow area stretched far out, making it ideal for kids to splash and play safely in knee-deep water. We loved having a palapa for shade--it kept us cool all day. We brought our own chairs, which worked out great. Another big plus: parking was just steps from the sand, so there was no long trek with gear. Lots of swim area and space to spread out. We'll definitely be back!
