Since I live on the fringes of Canton, it's not exactly a hotbed of arborists, so when I looked at Yelp to see who/what was nearby, my options were limited. I saw 770 Arborist (also the phone number when spelled out on a phone screen) and decided to try them. I called and set up the appointment. The person who took my call was polite and professional, so I hoped the person coming out to inspect would mirror that. It's been many years since I was a boy scout earning my botany and forestry merit badges, so I was ready to learn. Mark, the arborist, was phenomenal. When I hire an expert, it's for (no surprise) their expertise. What I got with Mark was not only great expertise, but a real passion for understanding and caring for those gentle giants that surround my home. He showed me how to safely and healthily trim limbs to help my trees grow. He explained how adding only a small amount of soil overburden can harm a tree. He taught me how to harvest loam from other parts of my property to feed trees that aren't getting sufficient nutrition. He showed me which trees are 'valuable' in the sense of property value and enjoyment. He showed me far more than I will take your time recounting here; suffice to say that I'm smarter about what's around me and have a new appreciation for trees. What did he NOT do? He did not try to upsell me. He explained which trees were unhealthy and why, how much or how little of a threat they present to my property, and which ones (only 3) that needed to be removed because of damage and sickness. And he was upfront about those trees probably being several years from being at the point at which they need to be removed. Again, no upsell of services or scare tactics about trees that are unhealthy. Just solid science and great advice. The hour and a half he spent with me cost $149, and it was a great value.; he should probably raise his rate. And, equally importantly, if I decide to use them for tree trimming or removal services, that $149 will be credited against the removal costs. Totally awesome and I highly recommend Mark and 770 Arborist.

Zeta came through my neighborhood like a wrecking ball and took down 100+ year old oaks. Neighbors…read moreon either side of my house got their roofs cleaved and crews were buzzing around the clock. I heard horror stories of $16,000 removals and saw a swinging crane knock down my neighbor's chimney with a huge suspended log. My tree problem wasn't as big of a deal. I was lucky. That said, I called a few places and they either didn't want to be bothered by a 25 year old Leyland cypress over my sunroom, or wouldn't come out for a quote for a week, then said they'd schedule me for JANUARY (2 months later). I called Cathy in the afternoon and she booked Chris to give a quote in the morning. I hadn't had many quotes, but they were all above my comfort -- obviously there was plenty of work out there for months to come. Chris told me he could cut it safely and haul it for the lowest price. He also had a guy who would eliminate the stump and upturned roots for $100. But how long would I have to wait? "We can do it tomorrow afternoon between jobs." They brought a crew of 6 and saved my fence in the process (the tree was leaning over my fence, within two inches of the top). 4 of them hauled sections while two managed/climbed/cut. Chris came in to check and give instructions at the start and at the end of the project. He also reviewed the completion to make sure it was to my satisfaction. On the way out, at my prompting, he gave me some quotes on standing trees that I may want to take down in February when it's cheapest. Above and beyond: Since this was a neighbor's tree, Chris gave me good recommendations on what needed to happen with the remaining 15 Leylands that look at the end of their lifespan, crafted a letter for me to use as a template, and worked with me to make our 50/50 neighbor split easy. They kept in phone and text communication any time I had a question. He even wore a mask for our review without my request. Bonus: His stump grinder contact was reliable and reached out the next day without any prompting. Now it's like nothing happened! I hope to never have to call them again, but if I need some trees cut down, I'll call Cathy and Chris.

Trees too close to our home and brand new roof. We were contacted immediately and they came out, discussed our wishes and gave us recommendations. They came up with a plan and quickly executed the plan accordingly. I can't say enough about how nice this couple are, and how they worked us into a schedule as quick as they could. Their pricing was good as well! The did a great job, cleaned up afterwards, and even left choice logs for me to use for firewood upon my request. Very professional and courteous crew. The crew did a good job of cleaning up and cutting what they could from the cherry picker. Believe they had 6 people cleaning, 1 in bucket, and one supervising. The issues I have is not only did they remove a tree, but it's now 11/29/18 and i have heard no mention of how they are going to fix my problem. Just said they will get back and no return calls. This was my home they impacted and devalued and they just went ghost. I will say that people need not worry too much because in 15 years I was the only person who had got his tree cut down on accident. (Such a great thing to hear after you destroy my property). They also informed me that he would get my stump ground for free. (What a deal!!!) The whole thing seemed like a joke to everyone there. I was angry and truly just wanted everyone off my property the moment the tree got cut. I was quoted 800 for both trees to be trimmed which is 400 a hour and i will end up paying more than that for the tree I will need to replace the one they cut down. Outside the guy who cut my tree the crew was good at clean up and the half hack job on the remaining tree was because he couldn't get to it due to bucket reach and honestly I wanted them out of my yard. The tree was about to fall over. I knew it was going to cost a lot to have it removed but I was more concerned about the pool and house being hit by a falling tree. They did come out the day I called them and put together an estimate. At this time they are truly very busy. They did put me at the top of the list and came out the next week and removed the tree. Unbelievable how they used hoists to hold the tree up while they cut it down. They were at the end of their shift so after they laid the remainder of tree on the ground they came back the next day and cleaned it all up. The crew was highly personable and friendly. All GA boys. They really know their stuff, I would highly recommend them. I have several trees that will probably need removing and definitely call them to do the work.
