I love this place, it's a lovely restaurant with amazing food, the Chinese food is gorgeous and the desserts are to die for, the only down side I would say is that I would like to see a bigger range of Indian food, like a korma or a saag. Other then that I can't find fault. read more

This Asian buffet claimed to be the biggest in UK. It is featured in a Prime series as a Mega Buffet. We went there, it was 0/10. There are no lines waiting to get in like in the show, and I almost though it was closed because we walked up 2 stories of steps and didn't see a soul. This is July, supposed to be the tourist season. Inside is much bigger than the door, but much smaller than in the show. The food variety and quality are both bad. I didn't find a single item that I can say it tastes good. Many are pretty bad. Nothing in the show that attracted us to here relates to it. read more

JRC-Global Buffet - Prawn toast, duck neck, chicken wings, salad - British Near Me - Watford, HRT

I came here for dinner twice while working in the area; both times were Monday evenings around 6:30 pm. We didn't have to wait in a queue or anything to pay, but the restaurant was fairly busy both times we went. The staff were friendly and polite. The first time I came here, I tried to pay with my American bank card (which has usually worked fine abroad), but they weren't able to accept it and I had to go to a nearby ATM. The staff were patient and apologetic about it, however. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. The placemat has a map, which is pretty amusing but not super necessary to study. It's easy to just go around the stations. The farthest stations from the main seating area are the Italian, Mediterranean, and Brazilian stations; both times we went, the seating around that area was empty--probably they just try to seat everyone in the same area to make it easier to clean up. There were pizzas, paella, salads, and pastas in the Italian and Mediterranean area, and also a server who walked around with Brazilian meat on a stake. In addition, there was a variety of Asian stations, including sushi, Chinese food, dim sum, a Thai curries/soups/stir-fry, and Indian food. The starters section was mostly fried food like fries, mini samosas, and spring rolls. There was a huge selection of desserts, including mini mousses, ice cream, and an Eton mess, among others. There's a chocolate fountain, but I didn't find there was that much to dip in the chocolate. There was an okay selection of fruit, but nothing overly fresh or impressive. The drinks area included complimentary soda, water, fruit juice, and coffee. There's definitely a wide selection, and for less than £20 a head, it's a pretty good deal if you're hungry. None of the food is of particularly impressive quality, but it's all pretty tasty and it's a good choice if you're with a group of people with different tastes. Some of the dishes/plates didn't look completely clean, but that was fairly rare. The servers were usually quick about clearing the old plates off the table. read more

JRC-Global Buffet - Placemat/map - British Near Me - Watford, HRT

After well over a decade and possibly 15 years I found myself in Watford. The main reason for my visit was a month ago saw a TV show about the worlds biggest buffet and since then a trip to JRC Global Buffet was on my list. I arrived and asked the friendly receptionist about the menu choices. She politely explained limited choices at lunchtime but I could have a look, I went and looked and on a wet Tuesday in Watford heard my name called out, it was a former colleague at lunch with her family. Her family had also seen the TV program and decided to give it a try. Only 40% of the counters operate at lunchtime. I returned to the welcome desk and paid for the buffet lunch at 11 British Pounds. So much choice I couldn't even try every dish and the dessert counter is limited at lunchtime. The extensive selection of starters all looked deep fried so not ideal from a cardiac perspective, the worst tasting dish was the malai chicken because the smokiness of the tandoor didn't come through. The most flavorsome dish was the lamb rogan josh but it was cold even at 12.15 when the buffet opens at 12.00. I couldn't even get through all the lunchtime menu items but would love to try dinner at least once, though at 25 British Pounds it is a lot unless one is a big eater and not worried about the risks of oily noodles, deep fried starters and sugar laden desserts. read more

My family booked a table for my birthday meal. Being a Saturday night, it was very busy and very noisy. Yes, you're escorted to your table after you've paid - the waiter raced off up the restaurant like he was in a race to the finish. I don't walk that fast, my husband walks with two sticks and my daughter and her husband had both granddaughters who slow them down so he stood at "our" table looking like a complete lemon waiting for us to catch up. I did feel it was a bit rude to assume that we were going to fall into his speed in order to keep up with him and he didn't even bother to check that we were behind him just sailed off into the distance! I was a bit nonplussed by the area marked "starters" which (from memory) seemed just to offer potato waffles, chips, potato noisettes, potato letters, mushrooms in batter, samosas, spring rolls, sesame bread and fish fingers. Starters? These items are accompaniments to main meals! Starters to me are salads, soups and the like. There's a reasonable selection of food, but not so much choice for me, though, when I only eat vegetarian when I'm out. But the food I had was tasty and I was pleased that the food was hot (some buffet restaurants don't keep the food hot enough!). I can understand the attraction of this restaurant for those who eat anything and have a huge appetite. Frankly for me it wouldn't have been good value, aside from the fact that, as the birthday girl (had to give proof of my date of birth) I didn't pay for my meal. I was pleased to see a list with the dessert section advising the ingredients of each of the choices - some had gelatine in some didn't although surely putting the widely-recognised V on the food label would have been easier? (Yes I know those with allergies need the full information but for those like me marking the food labels accordingly would have made my food choice much quicker. Although the premises are fully accessible, for anyone with mobility issues like my husband, it's a huge venue. The food stations are spread on either side of the seating area in such a way that you have to do a lot of walking and one area was the other end of the restaurant from where we'd been seated. So it's not an ideal location for anyone with mobility issues unless they're happy for family to go and choose their food for them. On the plus side (kind of) I tried the vegetarian sushi for the very first time and now know that it's not really for me - I'll stick to veggie indian! read more

My father and I went there a few days ago and really enjoy the food. I went back there alone on May 21, 2019 around 8:00 p.m. I was greeted by the Company staff at the front door. As I made my way to the cashier, there is a couple ahead of me being help and I was next in line. Few moments later, at least 12 customers came up in line. The lady cashier ignore me standing in line and proceeded to provide service to the other guests. After letting 6 people go ahead of me, I finally confronted the cashier asking her did you not see me waiting patiently for my turn and yet you let all these people cut in front of me. She pretended to play dumb and I told her to review your CCTV footage. As you see, I am a single Chinese guy following the rule and the rest of the Guests are British. I guess when it is slow night, the cashier have the discretion who she like to help first. Obviously not Asian. I am aware there are Asians working in this establishment, I guest they have to hired them because of their culinary skills. My father and I will be eating else where during the remainder of our stay. read more

This place is the bast ever! All of their food is fresh and the chocolate fountain is AMAZING!

This is an incredible buffet they do food from all wound the world and it is cooked and made beautifully. Staff are wonderful and they have all sorts of drinks smoothies juices and slushes available Evan coffee and tea and it is all included in the price. read more

Went for the first time and we was not disappointed, £18.99 per adult £9.50 per child ( under 150cm ) children under 90cm eat for free. First impressions are its very posh, you sign in and pay first then someone escorts you to a table, very nicely decorated. The tables are too close together for my liking. There is a lot to choose from, many dishes from all over the world that are nicely presented, it would have been nice to have some sort of communication as to what some of the dishes are and how you eat them as not everyone knows all the different dishes from around the globe. Unlimited soft drinks are a great addition. All in all a lovely place to eat with plenty for everyone, although we did not drink the alcoholic beverages are a good price with lagers from £2 a pint. We were not hurried along and were left to eat at our leisure - we were here just under 3 hours. Will definitely go back again. read more

Disappointed. The staff were miserable, rude and very pushy for our group to leave. Only have 1 hour 30 to eat don't really understand why. At near enough £20 entry you would expect better. This has been my 2nd visit to JRC and definitely my last, I refuse to ever go back. I went with my husband and 7 year old daughter on a Friday night. Even though it was a Friday night we did not make a reservation and there we so many tables that we did not need to wait to be seated. The tiled decor was very elegant. My husband eats meat but both my daughter and I are vegetarian. There is a range of cuisines but the majority of dishes had an oriental or Thai influence. There was a Italian and Indian section but they were quite basic. On the whole this place is good if you eat meat, or if you are with kids and happy to give them pizza or pasta. I would not recommend it for veggies which is a shame as the range of cuisines could have made for a great choice. Some of the staff serving don't speak English very well making it a bit fiddly to ask questions about a dish. Dishes are labelled 'veg' or 'non-veg' which is very helpful. The unlimited soft drinks/juice bar and choice of desserts went down very well also. Not my favourite spot to eat, food ok, but definitely worth a visit at least once for the novelty factor. read more
