Lisa and her designer created something that matched the rough thoughts we had, but went several steps beyond, making it better than what I had imagined in several ways. We started with some tired, neglected landscaping containing a lot of (sick) grass, and some drainage issues, and from that they created a mini nature park in our backyard, including a river-rock-filled dry creek bed, a packed gravel walkway around it, built-in drip irrigation, lighting, as well as a plan for trees and shrubs that will invite birds, bees, butterfiles, etc. This plan was executed by a company she frequently partners with - Oregon Outdoor Living - and they were great to work with as well. The workers are highly skilled and diligent. We're looking forward to see how it grows out! Communication has been excellent all of the way through. What this means is, that team showed up early every morning. They worked hard and wasted no time. They are experts at what they do and they take pride in the job they perform. Harley treats your job like he is working on his own house. This comes across very clearly in every decision and choice he makes to select materials, plants, products, etc. He also consulted me before every design decision was made, from the the height of the step leading to the backyard, to the exact color of the cement, to the exact placement of the plants before the digging took place. Another designer may have gone ahead and planted the plants per the architectural design, but Harley has this innate understanding that people change their minds when they see things actually laid out, or after they have time to think about the project as it it progressing. It is this insightful understanding about human nature, that greatly reduces stress during the project as you come to trust and appreciate these rare qualities that you don't find in most people. John was on site everyday and helped me design the yard as nothing was usable due to the slope, and he did some excavation to make us some flat portions. We now have a fire pit area that they meticulously cut each piece of flagstone, a few walk ways, planter beds, sprinklers, low voltage lighting, sod, rock walls etc. We couldn't be happier. Oddly, I didn't seem to many photos when they were done last summer when it looked perfect but will post a few so I am not another 9 months in writing the review. My wife hit it off with Curt George from the very first meeting and they went to work creating the design. Curt was so easy to work with, so flexible and so helpful when having to make decisions. We gave him a lot of leeway with the design and were rewarded with an incredible job. Curt not only develops the quotes and supervises. He gets dirty with the guys to make sure things are turning out the way he intended. Since we live in a new track, the yard project was a total design and installation project. Overall, the job turned out to take a little longer than we initially thought, but a lot of that had to do with availability of plants as our job was at the end of the planting season. Curt also went to war against the supplier of our artificial turf when they delivered a bad batch. Their two failed attempts also added some unexpected time to the schedule. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the job that Curt and his guys did. He went above and beyond on some things and only adjusted the budget a little when we changed some of the design. We can't wait for the Spring growing season to see the new plants grow and the trees to sprout new leaves. We also look forward to many enjoyable nights around out fire pit with family and friends. We highly recommend Indigenous Designs Northwest for any project, small or large.

He was way under most of the other contractors we interviewed and most important he stayed on budget. I would highly recommend him and his crew. I am glad we chose him over others we interviewed and would do it in a heartbeat.
