I went to seek care at a highly regarded practice and basically announced I would need fillings to them and was seeking a new place to have these done. This new doctor noted there was a tooth to keep an eye on but no filling needed. Here in this review to say 5+ years later the teeth I had on Whitfield's calendar to get fillings, new doctor has still not needed to work on. My family saw the previous owner of this practice Dr Wylie for decades until he retired and this doctor took over. I decided to try. Immediately noticed in the small space they doubled the amount of patients they can see, very squished. Other patients are far too close and no confidentiality in appointments. Even when you're on time you need to wait a lot longer as they appeared to squeeze as many patients in as they could, in close time frames, so a lot of wait time between assistants and doctor. Whitfield did not meet my communication style. Tries to be "smooth", comes across arrogant and out of touch. Hard not to compare to the humble, compassionate demeanor of prior owner/doctor. Stark contrast. Its clearly all about money. Furthermore on my first visit with Whitfield he made reference to Dr Wylie's (old owners) work being less than. Even hypothetically if this was the case how unprofessional. It wasn't necessary communication.

They care to get paid.. lacking customer service as a whole. They often give one price and add more…read moreto it afterwards. They're always selling something.. such as laser treatments which I paid $1K out of pocket for.. and it made zero difference. I have tests to prove that the bacteria these laser treatments for gum disease were supposed to kill didn't make a difference and did absolutely nothing but take my money. They also just assume you want to keep working on your teeth without considering costs. While I was getting a filling or crown done, the dr. says, "we can fix the one next to it too while we're here." As if everyone has the money to say "oh sure" and then proceed to charge you crazy dentistry prices. God forbid that a bill is overdue at this place, they won't leave you alone. Save yourself the hassle and skip this dentistry.

Dr. Dire also is extremely skilled at cosmetic dentistry... meaning that his work leaves you feeling confident because your appearance is maximized. For example, I've had problems with gum recession on my upper front teeth. It leaves a tiny channel between the edge of my gums and the main body of my tooth. Tony is expert at filling this ridge, leaving my front teeth looking normal in color and form. Separately, his hygienists are consummate professionals who are patient, highly informed, communicative, gentle and precise. Dr. Dire is also kind: he has an excellent rapport with his team, and it shows in how hard they work to make patients comfortable about the procedures they are doing for you and any anxieties you have about pain. Anthony himself is relaxed, open, knowledgeable, humorous... and gentle. He is skilled at minimizing discomfort. Finally, Dr. only does work that it truly necessary to achieve long- term health. When I first met him about 12 years ago, a prominent dental practice in Seattle had just studied my teeth and presented me with a "contract" describing 5 "initial" procedures costing some $21,000 (in 2019 dollars). The proposed work included crowns on several teeth. Recall that a crown involves emasculating your natural tooth and bonding an artificial tooth to the stump. Dr. Dire, by contrast, rejected that course. My teeth look great, he saved me a huge sum, a huge chunk of my time and plenty of anxiety. I met Dr. Dire through the woman I married. Pretty good deal!

I thought to give this office another chance to make up for my initial bad experience but after speaking with Jessica again today, she informed me that I would no longer be accepted as a patient because of the feedback I gave the office regarding her behavior toward patients. At that point, it became very clear that patient concerns are not handled professionally at this office. A front desk coordinator plays a role in patient care, communication, and access to treatment. Based on my experience, Jessica's conduct was dismissive, unprofessional, and directly contributed to delays in my care. Patients should not have to repeatedly chase callbacks, question whether they are receiving accurate insurance information, or feel punished for speaking honestly about their experience.
