First Impressions has been AWESOME! I really appreciate that they map out your care and are super chill about trying to get you to do everything all at once. They go over what insurance is going to cover and what needs to happen now and what can wait for later or next year so you're not out of pocket a ton. Not once do they make you feel weird when you want to put things off. One of the best parts (besides the quality) is they hook you up with a blanket and each room has a tv that they can position right over you and you get the remote and wireless headphones. The front staff are very friendly and helpful. There was some confusion about my insurance and one of the ladies who works there did everything she could to get it cleared up. The hygienist there cleans my teeth better than any other hygienist I've seen. The dentists are attentive and do a good job. Prices here are also more affordable compared to my previous dentist. I have a lingual retainer, and the bond comes off every few years. At my previous dentist, they charged over $300. At this place, I was only charged about $70. read more

I have been going to First Impressions Dental for a few years now since looking for a dentist close to my husband's condo where we live part-time. I initially went there to get a second opinion on a dental issue. Dr. Sodergren was a gentle and knowledgeable soul who offered wisdom that I wasn't getting elsewhere. Plus, the dental hygienists were always been professional and kind when I would go in for twice-yearly cleanings. All great so far - but then I had an incident where the bottom of my two front teeth got broken. (Nothing violent, just an awful situation.) Now, before this, I'd never had even so much as a filling. My teeth were as about as perfect as they come - after a ton of orthodontal work back when I was a kid. And now, this! Well, after I dealt with the more immediate injuries at the ER, etc., my first call was to Dr. Sodergren's office at First Impressions Dental so that they could help with my teeth. I was feeling really anxious about the situation - it felt to my tongue like both my front teeth were completely gone! They got me in quickly and I saw Dr. Gur-Aire, whom I'd not met before. She made sure my teeth were well cared for and came up with a treatment plan. She and the office staff worked with my complicated schedule to get me an appointment to put on crowns after my mouth had more time to heal from the trauma of the accident. She even scheduled herself to come in on a day and time she normally has off to get it done. Wow! Fast forward several weeks, and turns out that I was so hurt that I also needed a root canal on one of my teeth in addition to the crowns. Dr. Gur-Aire and the other staff were right on top of things to handle that. The root canal wasn't nearly as bad as people say - Dr. Gur-Aire worked to keep me pain-free. She did *heroics* to save the tooth that needed the root canal - and it worked! Then she put on temporary crowns for a while to let things heal up - and scheduled me for another visit. When the time came for the permanent crowns, both she and Dr. Sodergren were there for me - literally- consulting with one another and other staff, making sure the made-in-house crowns (who knew this was a thing?) worked well and looked right. They really demonstrated a team effort the whole time - and that extended to several other dental professionals who took scans, X-rays, and assisted with procedures. Dr. Gur-Aire was diligent to make sure that my new teeth looked excellent - she was not going to be okay with anything that wasn't her best work. More than this, she was always attentive to my comfort level and my anxiety about going through a big amount of dental work all at once. She was encouraging and congratulated me on my new teeth. That is a big experience to go through, and I was so grateful. How lucky I am to have found this dental office when I did to help me through all of this. Drs. Sodergren and Gur-Aire strike me as salt-of-the-earth people who want to do whatever they can to help their patients. A lot of dental practices might say things like that, but they actually do it. This dental office came highly recommended so I decided to try it. I really like the staff and service I received, however, bring heavy jacket because it's bone chilling cold in there. Not sure what's up with the temp, but definitely anything but comfortably warm. Seems very hard to get a cleaning appointment for new patients. Best dental care I've received. Dr Sodergren NEVER disappoints and he is very attentive with his patients. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable and they are sure to make sure you remember all of your appts. Dr Sodergren has done my crowns and fillings and usually my appts are pain free and I have a little nitrous to take the edge off. I had one time a few years ago after a root canal that I had pain but was able to get thru to the after hour phone number and he immediately called me in pain medicine. I haven't always had the best experiences with dental offices in the past so I was very excited to try out first impressions dental after my co-workers raved about it. When I first came here I came because I was referred here to get my wisdom pulled after my primary dentist referred me else where in which the prices were through the roof. After coming in for the consult I decided to abandon my old dental office and make this my primary dental office. The staff at first impressions are incredibly professional and also super friendly. They really do make their patients feel welcome and that they are being taken cared of. The receptionists here are very good at following up and letting you know pricing right away. My first impression of this place: wow they seem really nice and caring from the receptionists to the Docs My 2nd impression: Hmm, they seem greedy and I feel like they are cheating me, but u know what they are close to where I live so I'll keep going for convenience My 3rd impression: all of my referrals (3) of them said they were not treated well & will never return. The Doc left a needle in my gum during a root canal & never told me this might happen... said they will take $30 off my bill.. what the hell? I still have the needle stuck in my gums by the way. 4th impression: calling and harassing for payment & charging me for so called missed appointments when I made it very clear, I had to cancel the appointment ahead of time and I will reschedule the following week. Final & overall impression: they will try to win you over as a new customer but they will treat you like shit very quickly. It's all about the DOLLAR. You are not a customer here, you are a dollar sign & don't expect the receptionist to care about you or treat you with respect. Like the previous reviewer said, they will harass you like crazy and gosht you when they want. DO NOT WASTE YOUE TIME OR MONEY HERE!! Chose this place for it's positive reviews. Have you READ dentist reviews? They are downright scary! Quick waiting room time even though I was a new patient. Kylie (hygienist) was obviously new to the practice but did not feel like a new grad (despite her looking about 20 years old...forgive me). She was WONDERFUL. Rads, measuring/charting, scaling, polishing...she was thorough, not too slow, not rushed, very gentle and walked me through every step. Wow. I will request her for my next visit. Kylie...thank you. You are a gem. While I'm ultimately disappointed in my diagnosis (I need an extraction and I am a BIG BABY) I have confidence that Dr. Sodergren's diagnosis is correct. He explained my four options for AFTER the extraction - and I completely agree with his recommendation for the best long-term outcome (referral for an implant). I appreciate and value his expertise. My one hesitation is the front desk staff - or rather how the front desk is staffed and trained. They didn't seem to know what was going on (on my way out). I stood there for a long time while she was on the phone. Then she asked to see what the hygienist had given me (a complimentary pack of five whitening trays) which the receptionist then took away. She said I couldn't have them because "our girls make this mistake sometimes." But instead she gave me a plastic cup with straw. And a commuter mug. And a pen. And a magnetic calendar. And a magnetic business card. I already have too much stuff I don't need, thanks. There was also an almost $400 night guard on the estimate that the doctor didn't say anything about. Not only that, the receptionist tried to get me to schedule the extraction at THEIR office (with some traveling extraction doctor who does the extractions). But hello....I also needed bone grafting that had to be done elsewhere anyways. So the receptionist was trying to get me to do two separate procedures to keep some business in-house when Dr. Sodergren had already pointed out that the extraction and bone graft could be done at the same time. Not cool. In a nutshell, the actual experience in the chair was excellent which I very much appreciate. And I do think Dr. Sodergren gave me excellent advice and the price was very reasonable. I will return and feel like I'm in good hands medically despite the "would you like fries with that" vibe from the office staff, which quite honestly, is a reflection on the dentist owners. Alright, I had avoided dentists for a long time, since they were too expensive, and I never had adequate coverage. Well, now I have the coverage, but out of habit, I still didn't want to go.... That all changed when I broke a tooth. I had problems with it and finally had to get it pulled. That was the worst part, really. You see, they only have a couple days a month where you can go in and get your teeth pulled. I wish so much that they offered this move often, but, alas, I am resigned to struggling to find a time to have those types of things done. I have one more, and then the optional wisdoms pulled. I don't know yet though. Otherwise, this office is very clean and professional. I appreciate them answering all of my questions to the best of their abilities, and always demonstrating patients and compassion towards the patients. Everybody I have dealt with there has always communicated with me about what they are going to be doing, and made me feel comfortable during any and all of my appointments. I have been a patient of First impression dental for over 5 years and will NEVER return!!!! Both my husband and I had work done but in Oct 2020 while on leave due to having a baby. It turns out my husband insurance was inactive during that time because of being on leave. We were completely unaware of this and they did not bother to verify insurance prior to his appointment. He ended up with a bill of $800 and I was told by Cindy the front desk lady that she could take $30 off. WHAT?!?!?!? I work in the medical field and I KNOW insurance is verified prior to any services for patients. Today I received 3 missed calls, a voicemail, and an informal email from Cindy because she was attempting to get ahold of my husband. My husband and I work, we are not able to be on the phone! After calling both my husband and I over 6 times today, Cindy decided to contact my elderly father-in-law that lives out of state to attempted to get in contact with my husband. How absurd is that? Mind you my fathers-in-law is an EMERGENCY contact. Once my husband calls her back she states it's to confirm an upcoming appointment?!?!?! There is absolutely no need to harass anyone to confirm an appointment! My husband paid the bill, but I believe it was completely their mistake for not verifying active insurance. I called to speak with a manager because I am NOT happy with this experience and ended speaking with Cindy who told me they don't have a manager. I told my family and I will be taking our business elsewhere. She very nonchalantly told me they can send my x-rays to my new dentist and that she had no way of helping me. She was not interested in keeping a 5-year patient! She did absolutely Nothing to make me feel better nor help me with this billing issue. Cindy told me I had a $25 credit on my account that she could send as if it was a gift to me. That $25 is an over payment which speaks to the type of patients/customers my family is. Cindy customer leave a lot to desire! She is not professional which is unfortunate because the dentist and hygienist are wonderful! Due to Cindy behavior and lack of effort my family and I will NOT be returning! P.S. Please BEWARE if you do not confirm your appointment they will cancel and charge you a $25 fee for a no show. I have always had "good" experiences with dentists in the past, but when I started here over 3 years ago I quickly realized I never had "great" experiences like I did with this office. The first thing I noticed was that Dr. Sodergren & Dr. Gur-Arie are fairly young (mid-30's?) and they have the latest technology. This was new for me, as my "good" dentists never measured the pockets in my gums or did a deep cleaning like this office did, or did an X-ray that circled around my head. I was thoroughly impressed! The staff is super friendly, willing to work with anyone, and they are truly a team. They have their work cut out for them when I arrive for X-rays, as I cannot seem to bite those trays without gagging. They get through difficulties with patience, sensitivity, and team work. I had two mishaps with my teeth (a crown was needed, and a filling on a chipped tooth). Dr. Sodergren is fantastic at dealing with such things. He matched the color of the new parts to the teeth exactly, and I never would know that I had anything done. He is gentle and particular about his work, and I always trust his judgement. Who can really say THAT about their dentist!?! Oh, and with one of those mishaps I wanted to be seen right away (after all, a chipped tooth is sooo attractive!). I called at ~5:30pm and they were able to fit me in at 8am the next morning - talk about accommodating! I really appreciated that. Dr. Sodogren filled 3 cavities and recently completed my first root canal. If it's possible to have a "good" root canal, I had it. He and his staff made me feel comfortable. They are quick, efficient, professional and do a great job. He told me exactly what to expect before, during and after the procedure. I came here knowing that I would likely need dental work done. I sure did. Just wasn't expecting the poor treatment I received here. I came here, got evaluated & told that I needed a root canal, which I did one of my tooth. I scheduled my dental work, & ended up having to reschedule my first appointment of treatment due to my sister flying in from out of state for a last minute interview. This threw me into auto host mode. If you guys know what I mean, family first. I didn't want to be coming right out of dental work, then not hosting a family member to the best of my capabilities. Unfortunately, this place was less than understanding. They would send me emails leading up to my appointment asking me to confirm the appointment, yet when you respond stating that you need a reschedule via email & you ask for open dates to move forward with, you don't get a reply. No call, no email. NOTHING. So myself being the patient.....If I'm not getting a response from you knowing that you to do all of this dental work on me guess what?? Trust is lost. I went & got a second opinion from another dentist who even disagreed with some of their findings. After all of this they still lied billed my insurance for my initial evaluation, which they said was no cost. The lobby is small. They work out of a two story building that's run down & their office should be two stories since they work out of a two story building. The inside is nice though. Stay away. They lie & only see you as dollars, not a patient. +Look is modern inside the offices. -Failure to communicate on behalf of all staff. -Lies about billing. -Parking lot is drab & beat down looking. read more

The pain never went away, I came back 2 more times after complaining about the pain. They kept sanding out my tooth and telling me to wait it out. I moved to CA and no longer have dental insurance. Love that they have late hours a few days a week Julie did a great job cleaning my teeth. And Dr. Gur Arie took time to meet with me and go over any questions I had. I didn't have much for concerns or questions, but I felt that if I did, she would have answer them all. They are renovating their office--some might be turned off by "work in progress" type of thing--but I am not. I like to see that a group cares to improve themselves. Kudos for that! I went to FIDC because of the great reviews here but think twice before you go. I had a bad vibe from the minute I walked in but brushed it off. They took a ton of Xrays that hurt! The tech was not careful at all. Then after a very cursory exam the dentist comes in and tells me that I need one possibly two root canals and two crowns. I just got my dental insurance so they wouldn't cover this type of major work. I was looking at about $8,000 in dental work! A friend suggested going to the UW School of Dentistry. So I have my dentist forward the Xrays and go to the UW for an exam. The dentist there said that while there was a little inflammation he saw no need for a root canal let alone a crown but to keep an eye on it and check back in six months. Yes there is a bit of hoop jumping to get into the UW Dental School but to my mind it is well worth it as they saved me thousands! I am switching all of my dental needs to the UW School of Dentistry. read more

I've been with First Impressions for about four years now. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The ladies in the front walked me through all the services I needed done, answered questions I had about insurance and finances, and even gave me recommendations for orthodontists that I had asked for. The ladies (and gentlemen) in the back made my dental experiences (cleanings, fillings, extractions, etc.) less stressful. They are very gentle with their hands, resulting in less painful visits to the dentist. I also love that they are minutes away from my house. I like that the front office staff took care of my insurance plan paperwork quick with my employer. Only one word comes to mind when I reflect on my experience at First Impressions.....FANTASTIC. The staff was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. I was in getting cavities filled and it was a very painless process, not to mention you can watch TV or Netflix while your in the hot seat! Overall, I would definitely recommend this practice to my family, friends, and coworkers. On a side note, there is a great selection of magazines to read upon arrival. Not happy with this dentist, i had been going there for awhile and having issues with one tooth, they took xray after xray telling me they could see nothing, when the tooth got infected, they then told me there was bone loss and the tooth had to be pulled, i know bone loss did not happen over night, i was put on antibiotics which did not help the infection, i called to tell them that, they did absolutely nothing, i found another dentist who put me on a stronger antibiotic, which has helped, they will be extracting that tooth for me, but overall, im so not pleased with first impressions dental. read more

There aren't enough stars to describe how much I *love* this office. For 9 years I've taken my entire family- me, the husband and our two kids- now teens- and we've had such a great experience with Dr Ron and his team. First of all, the place has the look and feel of a beautiful office- not a smelly dental office. Second, there's privacy- you aren't in a chair right next to someone listening to their diagnosis. Third, with his background in cosmetic dentistry Dr Ron does beautiful work- from fillings to crowns, if he touches it you can rest assured it will look natural and beautiful. I've had a number of crowns restored by him (including some that were old and I was embarrassed about) and I couldn't be happier with my mouth. My teeth look and feel great. Oh! And the cleanings- no more feeling guilty about flossing or cleanings- the staff at First Impressions is there to help you. No lectures, no shame and no painful flossings. I hated going to the dentist before I found First Impressions, now I know I'm in good hands. I've referred a lot of people there because I love it so much and every one of them has come back to thank me. You just can't go wrong with this dentist. I am not an easy patient for dentists. I have a very small mouth, crooked teeth, an extremely sensitive gag reflex and a bad attitude! Nevertheless, the dentists and staff at First Impressions Dental have always been very kind and patient with me. I get very cranky after a few minutes in "the chair" because my jaw starts to hurt and I get tired of gagging all the time. I can't stand the water running down into my throat. The hygenists have all been good about suctioning the water while they clean my teeth so that it doesn't run down my throat. I've mostly been worked on my Dr. Sodergren. I like the way he quietly goes about his business without trying to engage me in conversation. I hate dentists that ask you complicated questions while they have their hands in your mouth.
