My (now)husband and I are not used to having our pictures taken and I was actually dreading having to do it at all. However, thanks to Mariann we had the most wonderful and fun time together! She had lots of pictures ideas ready for us and would help us pose for each one and also allowed us to give input if we wanted to change or add something else. We got our engagement pictures back within 2 weeks which I thought was amazing and our photos were absolutely perfect! I thought we would maybe get one good shot (due to my pickiness about myself not due to Mariann) but I printed well over 20 shots!! When it came time for my wedding I knew I had nothing to worry about. Mariann took the time to make a timeline for the day and was prompt and wonderful throughout the entire day. Don't let the ONE bad review let you think otherwise, Sincerely Me Photography is a fantastic business with an amazing owner. She is kind, funny, and truly wants you to have a good experience while she is shooting with you. I recommend her to everyone I know!

We had only disappointment and frustration with Mariann. We received her services as a gift and…read morescheduled our appointment. She first said she would scout out locations but then said she wouldn't be able to after all. My wife asked what the important criteria for a site were and then did research to figure out some good options. She sent Mariann a list of several options, with the details and pros/cons of each. Still, no site was selected. Mariann -- whom we still hadn't met -- then started sending us messages containing her private medical information, e.g., what her medical conditions were and what medications she could/couldn't take. A few days in advance, we asked if she needed to cancel the shoot due to her physical problems, and she said no. Then she did cancel at the last minute (the night before), including yet more private medical details. It made us feel uncomfortable to hear private medical drama from someone we didn't know, someone we were trying to have a professional relationship with. With two little kids and two adults to wrangle, the last minute cancelation was pretty inconvenient, but we tried to be understanding and scheduled a new date. Then, a couple weeks later, when it was time to actually have the shoot, she suggested we meet at a random nearby intersection (like when Google Maps shows you the geographical midpoint of a region, as opposed to any particular place), which showed again that she had put little to no thought or research into this, even though my wife helped her research locations much more than should have been necessary. The day of the shoot, she emailed and texted us many times, seeming to have a lot of trouble with basic geography and complaining about not knowing the area. The HOUR OF the shoot, we received half-a-dozen texts about the location, literally as we were trying to drive there (!). When we got to the location, my wife was almost in tears from frustration. Mariann walked up behind us as we were getting out kids out of the car and overheard us saying we just wanted to get this overwith. Having overheard this brief exchange, she completely freaked out and said she did not want to take our photographs anymore! After messing with our kids' schedule (not the photographer's fault, but shooting at sunset, when young children are typically having dinner and getting ready for bed, is a challenge for parents), forcing them into dresses, etc., we begged her to please take the pictures. We had to grovel and beg her in front of our kids not to storm off! After tons of attitude and threats, she finally agreed, but clearly either her professionalism or skills didn't show up. She didn't have any of the finesse you would expect from a family photographer in terms of getting good shots of the kids. She didn't take any initiative to work with them to get their attention or cooperation. After all the extended drama about the location (not sure why, since she easily could have picked one of the many places my wife recommended...) we ended up just wandering around without a good plan of where to take the pictures. We could see that the kids were getting very cranky, and the photographer had no plan or skill for wrangling them, so we ended the shoot after about an hour, thinking that any good shots should have happened by now. It was a very unpleasant experience. We hoped that at least it would all be worth it when we saw some good photos of our kids, but when we got them we were again disappointed. The kids' features were washed out, so badly that it was like their faces were pure white, and it was hard to even see where the face ended and the neck began. They looked really weird, not like themselves. We didn't get one good family shot, which isn't surprising, since she wasn't even telling us when to look or doing anything else to work with the kids. We were really disappointed by this experience. Mariann was unprofessional, caused us to waste our time, and frustrated us greatly; ending up with a lousy product to show for it. Find someone else. UPDATE: She emailed after seeing this review to attack us in her typically unprofessional way. She's also trying to have this review taken down because she doesn't like it. Too bad, this is the truth, so be warned.

My dad had the most beautiful military service ever and we were so very pleased with our dad's photo. I will continue to take all my business there from now on. I remember driving in the golf cart to different photoshoot spots on the wedding day with my wife, the McAnally's, and our video crew and being so thankful for the team around us. Pro Tip: Write down/email ahead of time shots you'd like for family photos, ceremony, etc. so you know what to prioritize and know what you can hand over for creative reign/room. For example it rained on our day so we got some mismatching umbrellas, with "it's raining" faces in our audience. However, we had some flexibility during our reception and the McAnally's took us out for a night photoshoot project which turned into some really cool photos we will treasure forever (attached).

Together they are a dynamic duo. They both have a special eye on what makes a shot great: Tab is great at ensuring small and easily overlooked details are just right (like my hair not laying right, or the guy's jackets bunching up in odd spots), and Jake is great at posing the shot in the most balanced and beautiful way. They are dedicated and uncompromising in their vision. "Good enough" isn't in their vocabulary or work ethic. 2. They are professionals in knowing how to execute a busy, schedule-packed day. Weddings are stressful enough, knowing it's one thing after another. While myself and the bridesmaids were running behind in Hair/Makeup, Tab and Jake were on top of it, being flexible to adjust their timing on where they were supposed to be (with us vs the groomsmen). Additionally, Tab kept reassuring me that we would still get all the shots we wanted/needed, and she was RIGHT. They timed and adjusted everything perfectly so we could still have an off-site First Look & wedding party photoshoot BEFORE the ceremony, despite our time crunch. Just WOW. 3. Some comments on here have recounted stories that, based on my experience, seem to be over-dramatized. I found Tab and Jake to both be very receptive to shot requests and ideas, from all parties!! They have a gung-ho enthusiasm and directness that I found reassuring on such a stressful day. They took command of their (major) responsibilities for the day and ensured that everything would be perfect for us. One story I'll recount that I was particularly thankful for: My fiance has a large extended family, and we wanted to avoid getting stuck in a loop of pictures after the ceremony. Jake and Tab had our preferred shot list, and helped us stick to it. When the extended family began creeping in to ask for photos, Jake and Tab politely but professionally handled the situation for us. It's awkward to tell our own family 'no', but they handled it for us. Whew! 4. They are so incredibly hard working. They were literally somehow in 100 places at once, getting all the photos and video that we wanted. While I know they were everywhere at once, they also did not interfere with the wedding day or the guests. They made sure that the day was about us. TLDR: Jake and Tab take amazing and creative photos. They are professionals who take ownership of their responsibilities day of, and I trusted them wholeheartedly to guide us through the day.
