After comparing Micha with other vendors, my fiance and I decided to go with Micha for the following reasons: * Michael & Charimel are very friendly, professional, easy to work with from the beginning. We had about 2 zoom meetings and they were always on time. They helped us brainstorm ideas for wedding venue (I didn't live here, and my fiance also never been to any weddings since he moved to SJ) * Work with our budget. He is able to seamlessly integrates your vows with the music and capture/ highlight those special moments! --- Like many brides-to-be, after deciding on the date and venue of the wedding, the next big investments are the wedding photographers and videographers. As one of the 1st people in my friend circle to get married, I didn't have a lot of referrals or recommendations to go off of. This is what I did: First Question: DOES THIS INDIVIDUAL'S WORK "SPARK JOY" FOR ME? I started by just going on Instagram and searching up hashtags such as #weddingfilm, #videographer, #weddingphotography. I also went on Yelp and used keywords such as "wedding videography". If I liked a certain photography/videography's work, I would proceed to checking out their website. Yelp is how I stumbled upon Michael's website. He did a great job and highlighting each couple's wedding, he did a fantastic job transitioning between each moment, and he did a terrific job at integrating the couple's vows into the highlight while still having background music. Second Question: IS THIS INDIVIDUAL'S PRICING IN MY BUDGET? Most individuals have an "investment" tab letting you know their base price. If they don't, they typically have a section where you can contact them for more information. After letting each individual know the type of service/service duration I was hoping for, they were able to give me their pricing. This is where most of my "filtering" took place, because I wasn't about to fork out my life savings. My husband and I agreed on a budget PRIOR to our search and stuck with it. Michael's investment price aligned with our budget and we liked his package, so we decided to move forward with him. As a side note, Michael's pricing wasn't the cheapest quote I got, but for the quality and level of his work, it was extremely reasonable (maybe even on the cheaper end!) Michael and I had multiple back and forth Instagram messages/text messages/and phone calls prior to the wedding day. He asked for a schedule of events, so that he would be able to coordinate and plan accordingly. On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time at the first location, and was extremely flexible! When we didn't have something "special" going on, he was able to find things to film on his own. He even put a mic and recorder in my husband's suit, so that he would be able to capture a clear audio of our vows and our ceremony! It took about 5 months to receive our full wedding video and the 5-minute highlight (we got the 1-minute snippet a couple weeks earlier), but it was well worth the wait! After my engagement this summer, I started imagining my wedding of poetry and music. I was especially drawn to the idea of telling our love story through the eternal (and personal) words of Rumi and Tagore. While budgeting for a wedding, we were trying to decide between photography and videography as both just seemed crazy expensive. I figured that since it was going to be a celebration that called for a split beginning (with a poem of love and longing answered by his beloved (waiting atop the stairs) I knew that she would miss the adorable entry of the flower girl and ring bearer, the first poem, as well as, the first musical selection. When we first contacted MiCha, we instantly knew that we were going to be hiring them for our event. Both Michael and Allan were very professional and humble about their work. Every year as a family tradition my family and I take family photos. And every year I've found it very difficult to book a great photographer. It was one of my jobs as a groom to find a skilled videographer at a reasonable price within our budget for our wedding (this turned out to be more difficult than I expected). My wife and I had found several videographers in the area that had an outdated style or they were way too expensive or both. I got married 2 weeks ago and I've probably watched my Same Day Video Edit over a hundred times. I love every second of it and I tear up every time I watch the video. The crazy part was that this video was filmed, edited and played for my wedding guests on my wedding day! Michael and his team are amazing videographers, and my husband and I are so thankful that they were able to record our wedding. MiCha Videography was one of the last vendors we booked for our wedding because my husband was not keen on hiring a videographer at first. We paid for our own wedding so we had to follow a strict budget. He felt that a photographer would be enough to capture our big day, but changed his mind after I explained to him that a video will allow us to replay our big day for the rest of our lives. We went through the standard protocol of watching a billion clips from various vendors within our price range but weren't all that impressed... that is, until we ran into Micha Videography. You KNOW you want a particular videographer when you re-watch their clips over and over and over so we decided to reach out and the rest was history. Here's the top 2 things we particular love about them: 1. STYLE! We were lucky enough to buy the 15-minute feature film and were super impressed with the production value. Specifically, they applied this time shifting cinematic style which meshed different parts of the wedding day together but in an elegant and story-driven way. In addition to the great music, the style kept our attention the whole time and kept us wondering what's next (same for the people we showed it to). 2. Customer Service! Nobody wants to deal with whack wedding vendors especially at the tail end before the big day. Luckily, Michael and his team were both easy to work with and very accommodative and flexible to our needs. After our wedding in SF, we flew to Hong Kong for the banquet for my wife's side of the family that was happening a week later. We were hoping to show the video to them so we asked Michael if it was possible to have it ready by then. Of course, he delivered! He literally had one week to put that masterpiece (in our opinion :) together and he did. We could not express how appreciative we were of that. Just wow! I had a super-challenging professional assignment (a TEDx talk during COVID) that required a top-notch videographer. Enter Michael. Seriously, unbelievably great! Michael has it all. We were very fortunate to have found Michael & his crew. Like any one else who is preparing for their wedding, we had a ton to do and a lot to research. We've researched, met and spoke to over 10 videographers though wasn't able to find one that fits us well. Fortunately, we kept researching and found a few better ones in the Bay Area & decided to go with Michael. Prior to meeting up with Michael, we really like his video style where it feels natural and fresh. We met him, wrote him a check to reserve our dates & Michael went to our location prior to the event by himself to scout the area. After coordinating the logistics and the video style that we like a few months prior, we were all set. What a relief. Michael & his team is very responsible and came to our event a little bit earlier to get setup. He knew the exact shots that he'd like to capture and was ready to go. His team was calm and very professional throughout the event. When he delivered our videos to us, my wife and I loved it. There were so many memories and moments that we didn't know exist. We highly recommend Micha Videography to take care of your wedding videos, it is definitely worth it. PS: I was opposed to hiring a videographer prior to the wedding but my wife insisted on it.
