Many day they are better then the competition. But are they honest? Ask them what the mark up is on their materials. I interviewed at JTP years ago, and that dude says he marks up a gallon of paint by 40 bucks. Ask them about it, then look up the price of a gallon of your paint. They may do okay work, but lying is lying, and I would rather work be done by people with integrity. read more

We could not recommend JTp Painting Services enough. They went above and beyond in making our experience and disruption of day to day operations nearly nonexistent; considering the working conditions being very tight and crammed, this is even more impressive. The final results were fantastic, giving our building interior a much needed update. Not a drop of paint on the ground, all door frames painted along with the walls. Lastly, they proceeded to donate 100% of their services - over $4,000. Being a public safety agency, funds are always extremely tight. We contracted with JTP to replace our damaged James Hardie Siding and repaint the exterior of our League City Texas home. After JTP completed an in person review of our homes needs, they quickly provided us with a detailed estimate for the repairs which was much more thorough that their competitors estimates and a better value. When the scheduled time came for JTP to begin working on the home, they arrived on time and fully prepared to properly perform the work every day. A JTP supervisor was always either on site or fully available throughout the project. If any issue arose that JTP was not aware of we were fully informed of the issue and were provided the opportunity to provide our input so that issue could be fully and properly addressed. When JTP was finished for the day they made sure that their equipment was properly stored away, and our property was fully cleaned up. As well as making sure that we were fully informed regarding the state of the project prior to their departure. The work JTP performed on our home was extremely high quality, professional, fairly priced, completed on time, and exceeded our expectations. I recently had my laundry room flooded by my upstairs neighbor. I begin calling around and happily found JTP Painting. I called and explained what happened. They came out the next day to acess the damage and gave me an estimate the following day. I presented my neighbor the cost and she agreed . I gave the them the geeen light for the project and the started the work immediatly. They finished the room and it looks even better than before. We have been using JTP (new owners) since ownership change and they have been really great in everything they have done for us. Attention to detail, timely, very careful work, and masks. Any problem with any work and they are promptly back to fix it with out argument. They have been taking care of my wife and I for sometime for various home projects that we no longer attempt to do, due to our age. Very professional came out and gave an estimate. Very reasonable. On the day they began the work they were here on time and ready to begin. I had them install a door in a newly built home where there had not been a door. The work was professional and very well done. The home builders came after the installation for another reason and committed on the beautiful job that had been done. You can't tell it was added after the fact. I highly recommend JTP Painting. Jack of JTP (Jack the painter) is dishonest. At one time he was an honest, hard working man. I worked for the telephone company and we used him regularly. All that has changed. I hired him to paint the exterior of my home. I had numerous items he missed or didn't cover adequately. I tried to get him to correct it and all he would do is say, "you have a professional paint job" and he refused to correct the minor items. DO NOT USE THIS DISHONEST MAN!!! read more

This company is under new management and they are really trying to get it right. Hugo Trejo contacted me after I posted on Home Advisor and I arranged to meet him. I was getting quotes to paint a bedroom, two bathrooms, and the kitchen including the cupboards. The first two painters came to the house and one gave me a $4,800 quote and the other gave me a $4,200 quote. Hugo and two others also came out. Hugo spent a lot of time going over everything and coming up with a quote while the others were there and gone. His price was $1,275 just to paint the bedroom and kitchen and he would buy the paint. We decided would tackle the bathrooms ourselves. He even offered to knock a $100 off just to get the job. I really liked him compared to the others and not for just the price. I could tell he's a good guy. So, I decided to go with him. He is excellent at communication and called to confirm everything and the exact paint he needed to purchase. Hugo and Oscar the painter showed up right on time to begin the job. We were the ones who were late! Oscar did a fantastic job and even went the extra mile to really get good coverage of a lighter paint over a much darker one. When all was said and done, we decided to ask him to quote painting the two bathrooms. He came back with a price of $900 (that is including removing old wallpaper which is no easy task!) that I thought was a bit high but he explained it was because he would have to buy more paint. We really needed the job done ASAP for reasons I won't get into. Well, a short time later he called back and said that Oscar thought he had enough paint to do the job and the price dropped $200. Now, he could have bullshitted us but didn't. He was also willing to work with me on the price on both occasions in consideration of my budget. That is good customer service all around. All in all, I am EXTREMELY pleased with the results. read more

Great company. Hugo and his team are very professional and courteous. They worked hard power washing and painting our house in the heat last week as well as replacing the siding with Hardiplank. They also replaced and repaired the siding on our chimney and bathroom bay window. We are happy with job they did and would use them again. read more

We hired JTP Services to paint almost the entire interior of our house, along with patching and repairing all holes. The quality of the first two days of patching and painting were great, his guys did an excellent job. On the last day of work (also the only day I wasn't present), Jack (the owner) was rushing his guys to get done with our house. When they said they were done, I paid them in full. It was dusk, and I was not able to see all of the issues with their paint job until the following day. All rooms that they painted on the last day (half-bath, kitchen, master bedroom, and master bath) were not done to the same level of quality as the painting done on previous days. In addition, holes were not patched on the last day. During daylight hours, I was able to see SEVERAL bare areas throughout the rooms done on the last day. I also found paint splatters in several places on my bathtub, and in several places on my Corian kitchen counter tops. I can get over the paint splatters, what had me upset was the sub-par paint job on the last day. I called Jack the day after they "completed" my job. I told him I was not happy with the last day's work. I told him the previous days' work was amazing, I had no complaint about that. I asked him to have his guys come back and complete the job. He told me no, and that I didn't pay for 2 coats of paint. I told him that I would expect that the quality of work should look the same for all days on the job. And that is was obvious that they were rushing on the last day. He refused to send painters back to complete the job. I then asked him to as least come out and look at what I was talking about. He again refused. He would not even come out and look. I took photos of the sub-par work and texted them to him. He did not respond. I told him I would file a complaint with the BBB. He told me that he didn't care if it cost him $10K, he would get even with me. read more

We hired them to paint the interior of our house. Once they were well into the job, I reminded Jack that we had agreed they would paint the interiors of the closets. He had no recollection of our conversation and wanted to charge extra. He painted one wall the wrong color and he became visibly angry and said it was my fault. His guys were hurrying to finish up and after they left - I noticed that they painted OVER the drawer liner in the bathroom drawers. We paid extra to have our wood cabinets painted white. I emphasized that we wanted them prepped properly so they wouldn't chip. We selected Jack (higher price) over another contractor because Jack assured me that the kitchen cabinets would be done right. Well, it's two years later and the cabinets chip constantly. Each month, I take out a can of paint and do touch up. Keep in mind that we have no pets and no children....and we still have constant chips! To JTP's credit, I will say his crew was polite and hard working. I also appreciated that Jack allowed me a two month payment option. I would not use him again. read more

JTP Services is now owned by Clint Yoas in Bacliff, TX. I had great jobs done in the past by this company so went ahead and selected them to do some interior work. Man was I disappointed! When they thought they were finished I found so many unpainted areas or areas that were very sub-par that I made a 2-page list to make sure they didn't miss anything the 2nd time around. My list was ignored. They had to keep coming back to paint areas that were "forgotten." I finally gave up and accepted the job as is and paid in full. I will need to repaint the half-bath where the paint from the baseboards ran down to the tile. I'm so embarrassed by the shoddy work that I tell guests it's not yet finished! I truly believe my kids could have done a better job! One of the days I came into the kitchen to find the worker standing on the kitchen counters with shoes on, painting the cabinets above. He didn't use a drop cloth so there are paint spatters on the Corian countertops and the appliances. Do yourself a BIG favor and find someone else to paint your house! I will NEVER use JTP Services again!!! read more
