During intake, they identified and told me about a tire issue, but disclosed no windshield damage. After service and their car wash, my vehicle was returned with a significant windshield crack. Nobody told me. I discovered it myself after getting into my car. When I immediately reported it, my service representative initially apologized. After speaking with management, I was told they would not accept responsibility. They then relied on an alleged preexisting chip visible in their intake video. My question remains simple: if the chip was visible enough to use afterward to deny responsibility, why wasn't it identified and disclosed during intake, just like the tire issue was? I tried repeatedly to resolve this privately and escalated the issue in writing to multiple managers. My communications ultimately went unanswered. The windshield is bad enough. What completely destroyed my confidence in this dealership was how the situation was handled afterward.

I am always surprised by the number of new model and high priced luxury cars that are brought into the shop. When I bought my new used car a few years ago I brought it in for the once over and would only finalize the purchase after this shop said it looked good. Over 200k miles later, outside of minor things, I have only needed brakes and a starter over the years. More than a decade ago I had an estimate given for a repair from another shop for a drivetrain differential issue (big trouble and huge dollars). I was told by AAMCO that the issue required an entire new differential system ($2500)!! On a recommendation from a friend, I took the car to Hi Tech and the owner, Mr. Long Ho, after assessing the issue realized all that was needed was a shift solenoid which cost only $50.....installed!!! From that day on Long Ho is the only person to work on my vehicle. He does it all, even auto electric. He even allows you to bring in parts that you buy online or from an auto parts store like Advance Auto or Pep Boys. Because I like high performance ceramic brake pads and drilled rotors, I bring in my own brake components and he installs them no issue for the same fixed price. The shop is all by itself on the outskirts of what was once the glorious Landover Mall. The Mall was demolished about 10 years ago but Long Ho and his shop in the parking lot remained. It is on an island all by itself, but still thriving because he is honest and low priced. It is hard scrabble but do not let the looks deceive you. It you want the glitz and free coffee from dealerships, this is not the place for you. If you want an honest estimate of your car's issue at a low price, done in an efficient amount of time....this is the place. The waiting room is sparse and the restroom is super basic so plan on dropping off and not waiting there unless it is something minor that will take an hour or two. The words "honest mechanic" and "low price auto repair" are the most important words here. Disregard the hard scrabble, Spartan surroundings. Trust Long Ho, he and his crew are fair and honest and those words are worthy of five stars.
