The chips are nice and warm when they bring it out to you so that's a plus while you decide on what you're going to order. I decided to try the Mane's which had a chile relleno, fajita taco, tamale with your refried beans and rice. The chile relleno breading was a little tough but had some ground beef vice cheese. The fajita taco meat had good grilled flavor to it but seemed lacking since that was all that was in the tortilla. The tamale with the chile sauce made up for the shortcomings of the other two items. Was in town staying at the casino and had a craving for some Mexican food. They were the closest and got our order ready fast and efficiently. The service was okay, we ordered to go and they were friendly. Once we got to our hotel and checked, our order was wrong, and the food was absolutely wayyyyyy too salty. Could not eat it. Both of our entrees, which were totally different (chimichanga and quesadilla), tasted like they dumped a whole shaker of salt on it. I've actually have been to this place twice. The service is very good. Some of the waiters do not speak much english. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant so far as the 2 meals I ordered were. I have tacos with rice and beans both times and was a little disapointed both times. The tacos were a little dry, but the rice and beans were good. I can make better tacos and have eaten tastier ones at Taco Bell which is why the 3 stars. They do make tamales and I have yet to try them. I will still give them another chance. We have wanted to try Juan Tequilas for awhile and tonight, we decided to go for it. We ordered steak fajitas for two. The food came fairly quick but had absolutely no taste/seasoning on the steak for the fajitas. It was mostly full of onions and one slice of bell pepper. The other issue is we never saw our server again. We had to go ask for tortillas and never got them after waiting and waiting. We finally left with more than half our food left on the plate. We will NEVER return and would not recommend this place for both service issues and food quality/taste. read more

My wife and I ate dinner here, the food was terrible. My wife's meal was not even edible. My dinner was a beef rib dinner that was a plate full of bones. The waitress told us as we were leaving that the Mexicans like to suck on the bones that's why there is no meat. Well I'm not Mexican and they need to take that off of the menu. The inside of the restaurant looks like all of the booths we bought at a yard sale. Something has changed. We use to eat here alot, not any more. Me and my girlfriend were visiting the MS coast looking for a place to eat near the water. We found Juan Tequia's. So as we were getting ready to order my girlfriend asked about the ground beef used for the tacos(she's not a fan of onions). The waiter told her he would bring her a sample to see if she liked the meat before she ordered. Not liking the fact that it had onions in the beef, she was changing her mind. The waiter then offered to have some made especially for her without any onions, needless to say she was excited. For my meal I had the hawaiiana fajitas which had chicken and pineapple along with all the usual fajita vegetables. It was delicious! I have never felt a greater need to write a review of a place than after my experience at this place. Now keep in mind that I have gone to Juan's on 2 occasions to try and give them a second chance and the 2nd trip was even worse than the 1st! The 1st trip I took my family out for tacos and was excited about the selection of tacos we had to choose from. I myself and others in my family decided to get the steak tacos since they cost as much as the beef and chicken, boy was that a bad idea! I've had good steak tacos before with nice slices of steak in the taco, but this meat was not at all what I expected! It is some strange over seasoned meat that seemed like ground up Slim Jim's!.... So on the next trip I knew to avoid anything saying steak in the menu! When we ordered some of the other tacos we found out that this time none of the little extras like lettuce and tomato came with the tacos this time, we had to ask for it!! They had cut it back to just meat and cheese to save a buck I guess! What I found out that I couldn't avoid was the bad service! It was very hard to get someone to take our order, there seemed to be a dispute as to who was even to serve us so no one tried to. We could never get any drinks refilled. At one point I thought they were going to help us out but then our waiter stopped at another table and slammed a tray loudly and started singing to another table with all the other servers. Speaking of singing the 2nd trip was on some karaoke night, but only 2 people did all the singing and it was horrible! It's very loud so we had a hard time even being able to talk to each other! This is just not at all the relaxing night out kinda place to go to. The price on just about everything is very high for the food quality. On the way out I got to speak with the wife of the owner who rang me up, as she sensed I wasn't very happy she made a joke about us not going to the other Mexican place in town.
