Well, this was a nice experience…read more I went for the Hispanic Heritage Concert Celebration which was a very enjoyable show, but beyond that, the actual Auditorium experience was a very good one too. For starters, unlike many places in Miami, there is a parking, with more than enough parking spaces, even when some of the patrons love to park right in the middle of two spots, just because, and no one tows them, but I digress: you can find a spot in spite of that. Once in the building, it is actually very well organized and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The show did not really start "on the dot", but this being Miami, I think 8 or 9 minutes is not so much of a delay :p The acoustics are fine, though there were a couple of instances where, I don't know if it was an issue with the musicians, or with the sound system, but in that couple of moments, the sound was just a bit awful... but generally speaking, most of the show sounded well. The intermission was also very well organized, and I'm always a bit surprised when people go back to their seats without delaying the show too much :) It's a very enjoyable venue for a very enjoyable time.

We parked on the third floor and took the elevator to the second floor and then took the walkway across to the center. Lots of friendly staff on hand to assist and direct us to the travel show. In my opinion this was a very well run and modern Convention Center to host our specific and other venues to come.

It was wonderful to see it finally come together and be built and open in 1991. There was a bit of controversy from the existing large hotels about which brand property should be built adjacent to the center. I'm so happy that the center is now recently expanded and newly updated along with (finally) the opening of the new 800+ room Omni Hotel. We recently visited to attend a travel show. The facilities were neat and clean and modern. There are a couple walkways connecting the parking garage to the main building. Escalators whisk you from the second floor to/from the first floor. Even the bathrooms were spotless. There was staff positioned throughout the building to assist attendees. While we were there, the center was hosting several other events and meetings. The meetings and venues were on various display boards as well as on signs in front of each room. The convention center has several ballrooms and exhibit halls. One of them is the largest ballroom in South Florida -- with a view of the water. The building hosts festivals social events, expos, exhibits, conferences, and seminars. Some functions are for business and some are cultural/arts related and some are social. They have several different type spaces to suit the specific requirements of the event. We didn't take advantage of them, but there were a couple concession stands that we saw while there, as well. Walking around, we found the soft carpeting and the cushioned floors seemed to make it easier to navigate. I'd happily come back here in the future.

Today it is a 1.4-million-square-foot, LEED Silver-certified facility. There is a Grand Ballroom, 500,000 square feet of flexible exhibition halls, 4 junior ballrooms, outdoor terraces and parks, and eighty-four breakout rooms. One of the biggest events of the year is Art Basal. More than 600,000 people visit the convention center every year. If you are coming to the convention center you can park at the convention center garage for $20 or walk a block away to the 17th Street garage for $2 an hour. The convention center is a large, modern space that was ideal for the event I attended, Playoff Fan Central, an interactive experience held over three days in conjunction with the College Football Playoff National Championship. The convention center is so large that a football field was constructed inside along with all of the other booths and exhibitors. The restrooms were convenient and clean. Security was tight and and I felt safe during the event. The convention center is across the street from the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens and withing walking distance of Lincoln Road and many other Miami Beach restaurants, shops, and attractions. It's convenient location makes it particularly attractive to visitors.

It's the little things that make a difference. Parking was fairly easy, and getting in wasn't an issue. One improvement would be clearer signage directing guests to the best entrance based on the location of event rooms, which would make navigating smoother. Go somewhere else Pros: the place is cute and clean…read moreCons: Many. My Aunt had a party there several years ago and she loved the owner who is no longer there. Now it is under new ownership it seems. I had a party for my mothers birthday and unfortunately, I had to deal with this unorganized and unprofessional team. 1. They refuse to answer their phone, all communication is via text and therefore I was penalized for the lack of clarity because I was not able to communicate with these people effectively. Throughout the time that I had my contract with them, I attempted to make several phone calls, only to receive my response via text, the person said it is because they get a lot of "robocalls" or "scam calls" Not my problem, get a damn business phone. 2. I have been making monthly payments towards the total amount and paid off the balance well before the day of the party. Unfortunately, a few weeks before the party I was reminded to pay off the balance. Ok, no big deal to clarify that it has already been paid off, but this started a pattern of their behavior of being unorganized, unclear and the client, myself having to pay heavily for it. 3. The party was to seat 80 people. Prior to the party, I asked about the table options, round vs long, how many people per table, etc. It was determined that I would need 8-10 long tables. I was also sent 2 pictures of the entrance and asked my preference for set up (all via text). I liked the entrance to be free so people can move about and dance, assuming the tables would be on the other side. The day of the party there were absolutely NO TABLES. When my aunt arrived to set up they told me it would be another $150 to move the furniture around again. This was so confusing to me, not only was I unable to reach these people by phone, they never had my tables set up after we agreed on the long tables then charged me to move the furniture around and set up the tables. 4. The airconditioning does NOT work. 5. This was the very first time I have ever done anything like this so I asked for advice and assistance. One service that was needed was photography/videography. The man that works there said that he can provide this for me for roughly, I believe it was somewhere between 100-300$. Says he has done this before. Now photography does not mean just snapping pictures. When I finally received the pictures that this "photogropher" shot throughout the night, they were of such poor quality that I had to ask my friends and family for their pictures from their cell phones. The pictures were extremely dark. How the hell did he figure these were well done? Although there were numerous pictures, they were so dark and the quality was horrible. I canNOT believe this man told me this is something he could do and provided such crapy pictures. Do not offer services for which you are unable to perform even mildly well. There are dark shadows at the bottom of almost all of the pictures (Probably his hand). 6. Clean up is included in the price. But we had a lot of alcohol left. Instead of just taking the things that we brought, my cousins and other family decided to help tidy a little. Some people have been drinking but by any means were they disorderly. While my friends and family helped to pour some water from the vase and cups down the drain, some of the water spilled on the floor and we did not realize this. It wasn't until I overheard the lady making slick remarks under her breath like this isn't helping us at all, and making fun of my family with her partner that I realized someone accidentally spilled water on the floor near the sink. The did not directly say anything, the behavior continued and the mocked my family for trying to help. The spill was not much because it was easily....EASILY addressed with a mop. 7. Gross behavior, unprofessional, poor communication, misleading, I will never have an event there, attend an event there, or recommend this place to anyone unless it is run by another group of people.

We did get upgraded from an ocean view room to a coastline view suite and appreciated being able to choose between the two at check-in. Even with the upgrade, the stay didn't live up to expectations. The biggest issue is that the property feels dated and poorly maintained. In our room alone there was peeling laminate in the bathroom, likely from the tub faucet spraying toward the window, a shower that never got hot enough, and on our last day the closet door handle literally fell off. Not what you expect at this price point. Service was inconsistent. We walked into our room at one point and found housekeeping sitting on the couch. Valet was also frustrating since the parking attendant couldn't clearly direct us to visitor parking, so we ended up paying for valet every day. The hair dryer was low quality with only one heat setting. I use a salon-quality dryer at home, but even compared to some 4-star hotels this felt like a downgrade. Small detail, but it adds up. Food was mediocre and overpriced. A $22 piña colada mocktail was basically a slushy. Nothing we had stood out in a good way. The pool area is smaller than expected and not particularly nice for a resort like this. We were expecting more, whether that meant a larger pool, a second pool, or something more elevated. The beach was the highlight. Chairs and umbrellas were included in the resort fee and the staff there were genuinely warm and attentive. There was also noticeable construction noise and sound from the nearby bridge, which took away from the overall experience. The blackout curtains didn't fully close, which made it harder to get good sleep with a baby, and the balcony furniture felt minimal. Overall, this felt like fake luxury. The branding is there, but the experience doesn't match. Not worth the price and we would not stay here again.

The hotel itself is okay, the amenities are pretty underwhelming, they have one pool which is open to everyone (ie kids included) the beach setup is probably the only decent amenity. Where they have lounge chairs and umbrellas and full service for their drinks and food from their kitchen. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite, in our room was amazing! We had beautiful Florida ceiling views of the harbor and bridge. We enjoyed Boat watching in the evenings. I really love the room so much, we are only here for two nights but you could stay comfortably in this room for a month if you could! And I have full kitchen, living room, desk, separate bedroom, and two bathrooms!

Le Méridien - Overnight Stay Review…read more I stayed overnight at Le Méridien. I had requested an early check-in and, as a Titanium Elite member, I was hoping to be accommodated by around noon. Unfortunately, my room was not ready until 1:30 PM, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was very nice, clean, and comfortable. We dined at the café in the evening and ordered the braised beef and pizza--both were excellent. Breakfast was definitely the highlight of my stay, with great quality and selection. One downside was the internet, which was not very reliable during my stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but improved check-in timing and better Wi-Fi would make it even better.

Nonetheless, I made use of my 1 night stay in Fort Lauderdale. Location: within proximity of the Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL). Airport shuttle is available (upon request at an airport terminal, and beginning at 5AM every 30 minutes from the property itself). We had a hard time requesting the shuttle service and so opted for (albeit a 10 minute $26 Uber ride) to get to the hotel. Registration: the staff were kind, courteous, and resourceful. We had arrived just past 11AM, with our bags stored away, and went to explore the town while our room is being prepped for arrival. Claim to Fame: Fort Lauderdale is known as the Venice of Florida. We took a stroll on a Water Taxi across the waterways, as suggested by the hotel staff. The Stay: Le Meridien is known for having minimalistic yet modernly designed hotels, and this was no different. The color palate is pale green, grey, and accented with blue and red. The lobby is spacious and shares the space with a bar, a library themed seating lounge, and a restaurant. The room itself was also spacious with a rustic feel. White walls, mahogany furniture pieces, and a barn door to a well sized bathroom. This is by no means a luxury hotel but provides relaxed comfort. Utilization: we dined at the hotels onsite restaurant for a quick dinner. The menu was simple; salads, soups, burgers, pizza, and beverages. Prices were on the moderate side, but definitely value in portion. I ordered a margarita burrata pizza with a side of French onion soup, while my friend ordered the house burger with fries. We both returned to our room satisfied. We hopped on the hotels complimentary airport shuttle the following morning, which only took a total of 10 minutes. The only downside was that there were no slippers available and neither did the hotel staff knew if the hotel has or provides them. Nonetheless a well rested stay.
