We weren't sure if it was dog friendly but we felt that it wouldn't be easy for us to pick persimmons while holding on to the two pups. It was a beautiful fall day in Monticello, FL and we were excited to pick from the last batch of persimmons of the season. They provide buckets and pickers to help with picking the fruit. At the time of our visit in 2022: the fruit was $2.25 per lb - cash or check only. Per the website, it is now $2.50 per lb - really great in this economy. Whether you're a Persimmon enthusiast or just looking for something fun to do in the fall season, definitely recommend making the drive over to Monticello for Perfect Persimmons!

I think they have 600 trees. It's really nice to see a family farm with the kids out helping pick the fruit. We highly recommend this family friendly place! My husband and I together picked a little over 20 lbs! Most of them are going in the freezer for when we can't get local fresh berries. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. You get a bucket with a plastic bag inside so you're all ready to go when you're done picking. The price is $5.00 a lb for U PIck and $8.00 a lb for already picked. When I checked a couple other places that I have been to in the past, the price was between $8.00 and $10 a lb for U Pick! It's definitely a working farm because you can also buy large potted tomato plants, Rosemary plants, Pinecone Gingers, Fig Trees, Gardenia plants, Rose of Sharon bushes, Aloe Plants and more. I couldn't resist a beautiful Fig tree with a few figs growing already! That was only $15!! This will be my go to place from now on for blueberries!! Also, since it's just a few hundred yards from the Wacissa River, you can make a day of it and rent a kayak or tube and head out to the springs to beat the heat!
